This is how I feel. It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack. It's a small town - it shouldn't be this difficult - but there is so much water and forest and so little information.

I'm starting to think about the basics here - Occam's razor and all that. So I'm going to change my focus. I do believe that she knew her abductor. She may not have known him well but she knew him. I do not think it was someone older necessarily. He could have been an older teen that she thought was cute who offered her a ride home.

This was a crime of opportunity. Only a few people knew she was going to be alone that night because she wasn't supposed to be. At this point I don't even know if I believe it was someone who had offended before but it could have been someone who had been watching her or was infatuated by her and seized the moment.

I don't know if there is any truth to the white car following her but maybe the locals could help us out there. How many people who know Lindsey drive white cars? How many close neighbors drive white cars?

Am I making any sense???

You are making perfect sense. I agree with almost everything you said with the exception of the white car but since I haven't read the other thread I may have missed where it was confirmed by LE that a white car was involved. If so, I apologize.

I think it was a crime of opportunity too. Unplanned for that night because she wasn't where she was supposed to be. She, herself, may not have been stalked or have someone that was infatuated with just her. She might have just represented an ideal victim in the perp's mind. I don't know.

There is the possibility that another child that she knew was the target child. She just happened to be available at that moment, again a crime of opportunity. I don't know.

Or there is the possibility that she was seen wandering around town by herself at other times or in groups of children and caught the eye of someone who then saw her alone and seized the moment. I don't know.

I don't think that LE has found signs of a struggle or abduction as of yet, so in my mind she got in the car willingly. (Yes I think there is a good possibility she got into a vehicle, not neccesarily a car) She may have been mature for her age, but at the age of 10, IMHO no child can predict what an adult human predator will do. So I think she just jumped in the car, perhaps she was offered a ride home? Who knows what ruse was used to get her into that car, but whatever it was her fate was sealed when the door closed behind her.

At this point in time what do I think we are looking for? A perp that lives in the area, or travels through on a frequent basis. Someone who's car and comings and goings through neighborhoods would not draw attention.

Someone that has offended before but probably hasn't been caught for that offense. Although they may have had run ins on other misdemeanor offenses. Maybe or Maybe not.

This offender has escalated his crimes against children. Lindsey may have been the first one to have been murdered (I'm sorry I don't think Lindsey is with us anymore and hasn't been since that evening or early the next AM hours). I am not sure that her death was planned. It may have escalated and the frenzy of the adrenaline pushed the perp to extreme violence and resulted in her death. I don't know just a possible scenario.

I am reading a book right now written by a forensic psychiatrist (non-fiction) and she made a point in one of the first chapters. That is this: The offenders don't have to be able to be conniving and super intelligent to know how to make ingress and egress from areas in order to commit crimes.

Many times they just have to be able to blend in. If you have read anything about Sociopaths that is a chilling statement. One can be a Socio and a pedo. One can be a combination of a lot of defined psychiatric conditions. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

So who are we looking for? Someone we would never suspect in a million years and someone that wouldnt' even draw the attention of neighbors. KWIM?

I would almost be willing to bet my bottom dollar that if and when it is revealed who commited this crime...the first thing out of the locals mouths will be OMG, he/she was such a nice person. Quiet...etc. KWIM?

You know, I spend a lot of time in small towns and one thing is for sure; in a town of 1,555 people everyone knows everything and sees everything. A strange car gets attention and everyone watches out for the children. Here we have a little girl who walks a few blocks from her friend's house, alone, and disappears without a trace.

No strange people in the neighborhood, no strange cars? I need some answers please and I don't need links, just facts.

Who is the neighbor who sent the 12 year old brother back home? No one knows.

Am I correct that LE has cleared Mom, Mom's BF, Friend's Mom and Friends' Mom's BF?MB and SW are the only ones cleared, per what I've been reading here.

Would the video at the Shell Station have captured her crossing 3rd St. if she had indeed crossed 3rd?
Per JVK and others, the cameras don't catch much but the pumps.

Is this a residential neighborhood? rural residential

Are there sidewalks? no

Are there streetlights?

Is there a traffic signal located where she would cross 3rd St. where it intersects with the Friend's Street? Stop sign?

She was last seen at 9:15pm as she was walking down the street, towards 3rd. in the direction away from Friend's house?

At 10:00pm, Mom was looking for her to be home and called Friend's Mom only to learn that the child left at least 45 minutes ago for a 10 minute walk. No one saw her after 10:00pm. So, our time frame is what 9:15-10:00pm?
Yuppers.

If she didn't cross 3rd, and she was walking to 3rd at 9:15pm it is safe to say that she disappeared between the 9:15 sighting and 3rd St. That is the space of what, a block?

What are the chances that a pedophile is just at that moment cruising this obscure little town and by sheer coincidence, happens upon a child walking on this obscure little road? I think slim. Stranger abductions are rare to begin with.

Someone from that town, who knows this child and her family, took her, and she is dead. If I get some answers to my questions, I can pin it down further.

To answer some more of DotsEyes questions, I have copied and pasted the ones I can answer:

Strange cars won't necessarily be noticed in town as it is juncture of 2 of the main roads in the area: highway 8 and state route 108. Highway 8 is the main road out to the beach from I-5 in Olympia and st. rt. 108 is the best path from the coast toward Shelton/Little Creek Casino. There are cars passing through town at all hours and many of them are not locals.

The path Lindsey was most likely to have taken along Maple to Mommsen goes from residential, to commercial, to residential. The strip right along 3rd is considered commercial.

Are there streetlights?

I don't believe so. My friend and I used to walk through town at night when we were in high school and it was pretty dark everywhere except along 3rd and Simpson.

There is a stop sign at the end of Maple where it meets 3rd. The only "traffic signal" we have in town is a flashing red light on the stop sign by the police station and a flashing caution light down where st. rte. 108 takes off toward Kamilche from Summit.

Lindsey being followedo by a white car has not been verified by LE. I think it came from a comment following an article by King News, and written by Mlachester.

ITA DotsEyes, I do not believe Lindsey is still alive. I believe she was either abducted by someone she knew or she entered the home of someone she knew and never came out. I also believe her body will be recovered there in McCleary, maybe from someones freezer, crawl space, attic or buried in someone's yard.
I'm curious if anyone has recently poured a new driveway, patio or other structure requiring concrete. I'm also curious if anyone has recently used a wood chipper. I know this is rather graphic but I think these possibilities must be considered.
If I lived in McCleary I would be on the lookout for the aforementioned activities as well as anyone knowing of freshly dug earth from someone saying they have buried a pet, planted a garden or repaired water lines or septic systems. At this point any disturbed earth should be considered suspect imo. I would encourage the people of McCleary to pay a visit to your neighbors, look around, look over your fences and be alert to any changes such as outbuilding or other large structures that may have recently been moved or added. Also any additions to or renovations to houses. Look for any disturbed soil even if it's just a garden.
I would also encourage looking toward the sky for birds of prey circling above.
I do believe that Lindsey will be found within the small radius of homes between her home and her friends home.
This is all purely speculation on my part but I believe the home could well be on 6th street.

I'm sure the locals here can answer better than myself, but for now I just looked up some homes for sale as well as recently sold homes in McCleary and out of 12, 5 had Spetic Tanks and 7 had Sewers. So it seems pretty split based on this small sample.

Two out of two sightings at the same time and place seems pretty conclusive she was last seen at that spot, between 5th and 6th on Maple.

I wonder why this person waited so long to come forward. It almost makes me wonder if it was really a back up for the first sighting.

One thing investigators always do is go back to the scene of the crime to fine tune their theories and facts. I think it is a crucial part of the case and am wondering if LE has discovered anything interesting about this second sighting they are not letting out at this point. xox

Usually DNR stands for Department of National Resources. So your wildlife managment, park ranger, state/federal land management type people work for the DNR.

So true jnTexas, For one thing I do not think the media has been very proactive in this case. I have read so many articles that seem like regurgitated info, like one main article came off the wire and they add a bit to it and then don't even bother to correct misinformation. What is with that, that journalism has stooped to a new low!

SS said here she thinks LE would give the go ahead for people close to the case to talk about it online. I have been thinking about that and find that odd, as in that respect LE would have no control of what was being divulged to the public. There have been at least 4 or more who say they are very close to the case leaving comments about the case, and I am amazed LE didn't put an immediate stop to this. The perp could be reading every word that is written about Lindsey, even as we speak. xox
