Hi all, I've been lurking too long, thought I should start posting. This case is actually what caused me to discover this website over two long years ago.

This was 6 months before the murder, around the time the prosecution say he began planning it. It stuck out to me that he seemed extremely jealous Karla Homolka may acknowledge someone else.

THIS quote: ". . . would get notoriety and Karla wll have no choice but to acknowledge her." stands out to me. He has been trying for YEARS to get attention. To be notable. To get an entry on wikipedia. I first found out about him years before this happened just by googling for Homolka. That particular quote sounds much like he is speaking of himself. And now his name really IS connected to her, not just rumours plastered all over the internet by himself. It took him a while, but he accomplished what he set out for.

I'm still trying to figure out the purpose of moving to Montreal to commit this crime so you may be on to something. Does anyone know if he had ever lived in Montreal prior to this? Why did he choose this area to commit this crime? Had he ever lived there previously?

About today (Friday, which I guess technically is yesterday where I am). The final witness, security from Air Transat. Leclair objected. He was caught off-guard. Bouthillier did not inform him of this witness. Why would Bouthillier pull such a stunt? Surely he knows better. Is the Crown getting nervous?
It looks to me like the Crown pulled this guy out now, to show that Magnotta DID understand the magnitude of his actions, he DID appreciate that it was wrong and that he would be in trouble, and fled. And by catching the defence off guard, he would be less likely to ask questions that would work in favour of his client. Maybe? I don't know. Thinking back to it now, I find it a little odd that this happened.

Could it just be he had been called to testify recently, in place of his boss & the defence hadn't been informed ?

Can't be 100% sure LM created the page, but it seems typical of him. The "she" mentioned is the owner of a Karla Homolka forum that LM seemed to be trolling at the time (WatchingKarlaHomolka/WKH).

I was googling to try and discover more about his obsession with the Homolkas, it appears there was some sort of forum drama going on that LM was involved in during late 2011.

I will gather some links up and put them in the "LM Online Personae" thread as I don't think there is anything about that in there. (Thank you for the link claudicici!)

That is wacked. I agree with her. Why would she need to testify? That's absurd, just like the rest of this case and it's trial.

Her name has been connected to Magnotta (obviously only thru him) for some years

I found this 'wacked' story in the 'web archives' from 2008.

Magnotta has been in numerous high profile relationships over the years, but noone seems to know where his two year old child came from? His family members are baffled and they all believe his sister is the true mother of Magnotta's only child.

Here's mention of Karla

He is in fact now living in the Caribean with his NEW wife Karla Homolka who was convicted of murdering three people in 1993. Both Homolka and Magnotta split their time between Montreal and the Caribean now.

Well if Karla is called, it will be by the defense IMO. To prove that LM's been sick and delusional for a long time. He has had NO high profile relationships as much as he tried to make people believe he did. He is not a *advertiser censored* "actor" or a "model" either. Why do the papers keeps quoting that? It just feeds into his fantasies and ego IMO. He was a low rent escort in Toronto who might have appeared in a few "do it yourself" online *advertiser censored* flicks. One of thousands of young men just like him. And he didn't like that. He wanted fame...or infamy. Didn't matter to him which apparently.

And what's this about him actually having a child? I thought that was determined to be a nephew? :waitasec:

I guess my main thought about this trial is....why?? Dude already admitted to killing the poor young man. I know, I know, due process and 'respect for the court system'. *sigh* It's so dang frustrating tho. And I'm not even involved. I just feel badly for the victim's family.
