If the person behaved in an unlawful way, right? Otherwise it's just an accident vs. a homicide.

I am not an attorney, but there is a category called 'negligent homicide', which covers situations in which someone acted irresponsibly, and it led to someone's death. The irresponsible act itself does not necessarily have to be unlawful, nor did it have to be carried out with intent to cause harm or death.

Again, if anyone brings up information that shouldn't be here we all need to
1)not respond to it
2)alert mods (report post)
Those of us who are abiding by the rules and TOS don't want to have this locked again because a few won't abide...thanks

My only question is, is this normally what happens when they arrest someone? Is that an under cover vehicle? Do they normally park in a parking lot and walk them across? I figured there was a back door entrance or something.

It's a driveway that goes down into the garage area and there are side doors. The reporters would've had to stand above in bushes maybe to get a shot. Or close to the building, IIRC.

They may have wanted to do a bit of a perp walk though. I don't blame them.

One set of parents prepares to bury their son. Another set of parents watches their son arrested for murder. Sad.

I'm assuming they were waiting on the expedited test results to firm this up, and make an arrest. I don't remember reading that they were back though.
I'm hopeful that they have arrested him for murder, not just some obstruction charge or something like that to hold him until they get harder charges.
I only wonder because it didn't say 'arrested for the murder of' in the articles I read. It said, 'in connection with', which could mean the same thing of course but that just stood out to me.
We will have answers soon via the presser. Mostly I am just glad that they seem to have had a good handle on this from early on.

A friend of slain pre-med student Blaze Bernstein was arrested Friday afternoon in connection with the death of the University of Pennsylvania sophomore, whose body was found near a Foothill Ranch park on Tuesday, a week after the 19-year-old disappeared.

Samuel Woodward, 21, was taken into custody Friday shortly after leaving his home in Newport Beach, .....

I haven’t found anything that names the suspect, have you? I saw you posted initials, the thing that got us shut down last night.

I know the above wasn't directed to me, but in an effort to be proactive:

Just fyi, under my post earlier (dunno if the Pic posted, but it did at 1st when Tapatalk posted it under the wrong page), I posted the name: "Sam", as that is the name heard being clearly called out in the arrest video.."got anything to say, Sam?"..(verbatim)

The TRUTH WILL OUT!, and There will be a Reckoning, in this Life or the Next!

Yes this is common, this is the main jail, htere is a tall walled in entrance with a gate that closes behind you and one opens. This is back of the Intake Center for the jail. Those two other guys are OC Detectives.

Here is an above shot.
