Jurisdiction for Presumed Death Suit?

IIUC, jurisdiction for procedure to declare a person dead is in the state of last domicile (for this sake of simplicity in this discussion = residence) of the presumptive deceased.*

If/since RT & BT live in Bullhead City, AZ, jurisdiction* would be in St. of AZ, and venue** would be Mohave County AZ probate court.

I'm ready to be corrected on this***, but if correct, then like St of CA, St of AZ's required absence is five years. A loooooong way off.

Interesting information. If you ever followed the Michael Chambers case (he’s still missing) from Texas, the wife had him declared dead within 6 months, I believe, in order to collect benefits. Even though In Texas it’s supposed to be 7 yrs. IIRC. She somehow knew the right people and made it happen. I could not believe it! Very suspicious circumstances as well. FWIW! JMO.
Not at all saying this is a possibility here, but I guess if you have the right connections...

This was such a great idea, but it looks like it would be outrageously expensive. Under their Market tab, they have listed: U.S. Government, International Defense & Development, Global Development, Telecommunications, etc.

They said there is imagery available for purchase, and referred me to both sales and customer service. I started completing a form that gave me budget options beginning at "Under $15,000" to "Over 250,000". I didn't finish the form. MOO

Thanks for chasing this down, @PommyMommy ! It seems like this should be an option without anyone having to buy in case by case -- like maybe the FBI (or other country equivalents) should subscribe and then activate it on a case by case basis. Ah well. With so many more satellites going up, maybe this kind of post-incident photo search will become more common soon. Thank you again!

I have wondered about this too. Having girlfriends is usual even for mature ladies, yet we have heard nothing from them or about them, unless they are keeping quiet. Same you would expect as a couple they had at least a few mutual friends that they might go out to dinner with or share excursions.

Barbara may have been married to a man who didn’t want his wife having friends or contact with anyone other than him. Probably the reason she didn’t have a cell phone.

Also, RT may have not liked to socialize with other couples or people. Perhaps he did at one time in the past, but has changed lately. There could be numerous reasons for this.
I know from experience.

Do we know anything about Barbara? Did she ever work? Did she have her own car? Did she drive? So many little things we all do daily, and take for granted, yet we know nothing about Barbara.

I don't know about the lounge exactly but today within walking distance there was hundreds of people on the river bank, jetsking, boating, splashing, barbecuing

One wonders how knowledgeable a particular individual might be in obscuring certain tasks they might want hidden?

One also wonders what time-opportunities a particular individual might have had to facilitate for those certain tasks?

One also wonders what is the level of 'good fortune' of a particular whomever who found themselves traveling through a 'remote location' at the very moment a physically-fit bikini-clad beer-toting desert partier was crossing the very road on which they were traveling? Also remembered to take the beer!

Finally, one definitely wonders why a particular individual who is aware LE might categorize them as prime suspect isn't attempting to get as many news outlets as possible to interview them so that they may plead their case, ask for information and assistance and bending over backwards to make the broader public at large thoroughly aware of a 'missing person' situation.............

Sorry, haven't really been able to keep up with this thread, and also late to the party. Just wondered:
-Is anyone known to have seen the couple's truck/RV in its stated location prior to when police were called, and if so, at what times?
-How old is Robert?
-I understand search dogs were utilized - did they find any scent of Barbara along the path of where she and Robert were said to have been before she disappeared?
-Have there been any neighbors who've said how the couple interacted or what they are/were like?

I don't think we can assume any of this, only that nobody is talking to the media.
As for "online presence", a lot of older people aren't into social media. OTOH, I don't have an "online presence" in my real name although I'm active in various places.

Intrigued by this missing case and new to ws. After reading and listening to media reports all does not make sense.
Curious about RT'S interviews with media. The ''abduction theory''??
The emphasis on ''WAS'' (wearing a bikini) and a loot of detail i find intriguing.

It seems that RT family are not initiating interviews about BT with media, to help find her. Maybe there is a lot they are aware of and staying silent so the investigation is not compromised. Curious if RT has friends at the Losers lounge supporting him and assisting him to find BT. Personally if a member of my family (especially my spouse or child) was missing, I would want to be with my family not at a bar surrounded by strangers.

Why would that be?
It would be a simple answer, that would make a whole lot of difference.

As long as people think this may be an old picture, the speculation goes on into every direction.

Does anyone know if this truck and RV were purchased new. I read somewhere it was purchased recently. Curious about what RV and truck they owned previously. Maybe BT found out about money she did not know they had for this purchase. Or perhaps the previous RV or truck is relevent to her dissapearance, used for unethical use, planning ..''scouting'' for a spot to make a person disappear.

I find that concerning. Can we re-visit that info and look abit deeper into her friendships and social involvement anywhere apart from her marriage?
If she was a recluse that could be a red flag as potentionally in cases of abusive marriages its often not physical violence but rather control and isolation from other relationships in order to "own" the victim (just talking generally here not trying to accuse RT of anything)
