I snagged this and enlarged it. There looks to be a cut/abrasion on his right arm covered partially by his sleeve and on the knuckle of his second finger of his right hand. This was about a month after the murder. Looks to be healing. This was middle of Dec. Arrest end of Dec. Did no one see this or was it completely healed by arrest?

I was looking at his wrist in court pics today, and almost looks like he has dialysis port in it now. It was closed up, but looks like something under the skin in those pics. Heroin does damage the kidneys.

Regarding all the speculation of the BOLO. A BOLO is a be on the look for. I'm sure there was a BOLO, IMO, issued, just for informational purposes to LE across the country on the suspected path of travel of the suspect. IMO LE in Indiana may have conducted the traffic stop(s) to slow the suspect down and let the surveillance teams coordinate their pass offs and pic- ups, per FBI request, or whomever was coordinating the surveillance. One officer, on a stretch of highway deciding to stop a vehicle, which happens to be one of the most talked about in weeks, without knowing it is the subject of a manhunt is incomprehensible. If that's the case, send that rookie back to the academy, JMO.
I might add, when he called in his traffic stop, don't you think the PD might have already known about this whole thing? I can't believe the entire dispatch unit didn't realize the significance of the stop. It's crazy. I think the stop was orchestrated to slow the vehicle down and let the other surveillance units get in place.
Another observation: Although this was a highway and the suspect didn't leave much room, you never approach the suspect vehicle from the passenger side, cop 101.

So... is he going to suggest they brought it back? I doubt anyone is going to buy that.

Too funny that someone might of stolen his car then brought it back to him after killing 4 innocent people. Do you think he might make that claim?

On Tricia's show this evening, someone suggested the reason Bryan may want to get to Idaho so quickly, waived his rights to an extradition hearing, may be that he's ready to appear for his first hearing and get his hands on a copy of LE's allegations. Bryan is eager to learn what evidence the State of Idaho has against him.

We're so eager to learn the details of his arrest. I cannot wait to read the PC.

I hear that too. Interesting. But according to BK’s attorney, the trip was planned in advance weeks ago. I don’t want to judge because I do feel sorry for the family, but things that make you go hmm.
The fact that the father mentioned something about the murders to the cop tells me that his father was expressing concern for HIS SON’S safety in light of the murders, as any parent would do, and shows that his father was in the dark insofar as even considering that his son BK may have been the perpetrator.

(Same news article, but MSN.)

While the suspect walked through the courthouse in handcuffs, he wore a heavy black vest under his red-orange jumpsuit, appearing cool-headed and offering no real sign of his emotions as officers guided him to his hearing.
I know if I was arrested for a crime that I did not commit, I'd be crying hysterically and denying responsibility. His demeanor is telling, IMO.

Plus not waiving extradition just seems like a waste of time and resources.

His car is awfully dirty. I used to live in Or. My husband would take our cars to the carwash every month or two in the winter just get the road dirt off. His car doesn't look like its been washed in a while. You know LE is going through it for DNA, fibers etc. It just is unbelievable that he didn't bother cleaning the car. Jmoo
He’s on a 2000+ mile road trip across the northern USA in December where snow, slush, salt, sand, etc. have covered the roads.

BK may be deemed too high risk to fly on a commercial airliner. They usually won't transport prisoners over a four-hour flight either (at least that's Fed rules). It's also very costly to get the JPATS flight. Most are transported on a bus. Seriously. The buses are specially made. It's a very long trip. It's a miserable trip.

Transporting prisoners on commercial flights
Prisoners fly on commercial airlines based on the circumstances of their extradition. Higher costs of private aircraft make commercial flights more economically feasible for less dangerous prisoners.

Depending on the region, prisoners may use commercial flights up to hundreds of times per year. However, robust regulations exist to determine when this happens.

The agency responsible for transporting the prisoner designates the individual as high or low risk. Transporting more than one high-risk prisoner requires special TSA authorization.

Strict requirements regulate the standards for transporting prisoners:

At least one armed law enforcement official is required to escort a prisoner.
Flight times can’t surpass four hours.
Prisoners board the flight before all other passengers.
Seating requirements force them to the rearmost position of the passenger cabin.
Restraints remain on the prisoner’s hands for the duration of the flight.
During mealtime, they can not use metal eating utensils or have any alcoholic beverages without the officer’s authorization.

An entity formed in 1995, dubbed The Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System (JPATS), specializes in transporting convicts.

In 1995, the air fleets of the Marshals Service and the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement merged to create the Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System (JPATS). The merger created a more efficient and effective system for transporting prisoners and criminal aliens.

Managed by the Marshals Service, Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System is one of the largest transporters of prisoners in the world - handling about 715 requests every day to move prisoners between judicial districts, correctional institutions and foreign countries.

Justice Prisoner and Alien Transportation System is the only government-operated, regularly scheduled passenger airline in the nation.

I think at first (in ID) he was reluctant to wash it in case it seemed suspicious/in case the carwashes in his area were being surveilled for white Elantras being washed (IIRC there was some indication of police activity in Pullman WA early on that was in the news, which is where he lived), and then when he had driven it 2,000ish miles to PA he thought he had gotten away with it and any dirt that could be tied to the crime scene would have been long gone & washed away/worn off anyway.

Just talking about the exterior. Don't know whether the interior was dirty. Another poster opined that he left it so dirty so it would "go grey" and not be as noticeably white like the Elantra LE was looking for the occupant(s) of. Others that it could get that dirty in a short distance driving in the winter. Having driven white cars on roads in the winter long distances, they never looked like that -- that was long term grime, not recent road dirt, IMOO

Right? That caught my eye, too!

Resembles a line of single interrupted sutures on a wound or incision along the side of his wrist. Maybe he's had surgery?

It’s what SWAT does when they arrest a violent felon in the middle of the night. Sometimes that ends in tragedy, as in the Brionna Taylor case.

In BT's case it was unwarranted. She was not violent and she was not a felon.

Kelly Goodlett, who along with Jaynes was a detective in the Place-Based Investigations unit that investigated drug trafficking, and Sgt. Kyle Meany, who supervised the unit, were charged with falsifying an affidavit.

Jaynes and Goodlett are accused of misleading investigators probing the deadly shooting. Meany allegedly lied to the FBI, Garland said.

In a separate indictment, Brett Hankison was charged with using excessive force while executing the search warrant.

The grime appeared sorta ground in/smeared around the door handle. It did not appear to be typical recent dirty slush splatter. It had the same appearance as my poor neglected vehicle which sits under a pecan tree

Entirely possible!
Something is odd, bc they won’t reveal the first body cam . So what happened during that one? That came out before this gag order. I was surprised no one here has said much about it.

Bryan Kohberger and his dad were involved in another traffic stop hours before this one — also in Indiana. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the body cam footage from that stop — because they say it is part of an active criminal investigation in Idaho.
MOO-

If the first officer was part of the surveillance team/truly in the loop purposefully pulling him over to observe and report back to to fbi or was fbi… it would be information retained during the investigation, which they are not and cannot release right now.

Stop number 2 could have been from BOlO, officer who didn’t know who he was or on board in any way with LE .

I think it’s sounding more and more likely at least one of the traffic stops was on purpose.

In the body cam video you can hear BK and his father point out this officers car is different. The officer responds our officers only have this type of car. BK and father say well we were just pulled over by an officer in a different type of car. Ask who or what cops drove that type of vehicle, officer tells them maybe it was county police they have different vehicles.

My point is… BK noticed two different types of cars… which he seemed suspicious of in such a short distance.

Again, just my observation, all my opinion only.

I wonder if having his dad come out and drive back to PA with him was BK's chance to chat about how things weren't going well for him. He perhaps expressed concern over the recent shooting incident at Pullham, his TA grading situation, the murders in Moscow, how LE was looking for a white Elantra, and how stressed he was because he had one. I think there were several reasons for having dad's company on that trip; sadly, father/son bonding isn't one of them.

I am also curious about BK asking if anyone else was arrested when the house was stormed if, in fact, that conversation took place. BK was contemplating at that point how much he had said to dad and if LE had been listening. I believe he was thinking about his dad, not an accomplice because I don't believe he had an accomplice for the murders. JMO
I think BK is really literal and he wanted to know if any of the 22,000 2011-13 Hyundai owners had been arrrested IMO

He was a coward. To do this to those who had less of a chance to fight back. In the middle of the night, while they were drunk and sleeping.

Pathetic.

Not the mastermind that he probably thinks he is.
Well, maybe it was less about being a mastermind and more about dominance and power over defenseless human lives. In a matter of mere minutes, he killed 4 human beings, took their whole lives, destroyed families, and mentally impacted so many others while gripping a nation and beyond he wrangled in some power there and probably got a new high and potentially still is because he is in the Nations spotlight now. Being notorious is a heck of a drug for killers
