Darlene Cook says her daughter went missing on Oct. 29, 2009. Durham said Fuqua was not reported missing by the family until three weeks after her disappearance. Darlene said she thought Fuqua was with Piedmont resident Danielle P******* and didn’t report her for a few weeks.
Darlene said she received a call informing her that Danielle P******* was in possession of Fuqua’s white 1995 mustang, and that the car was returned to Darlene on Nov. 1, three days after Fuqua’s disappearance. Fuqua’s purse, a leather purse embroidered with a red University of Alabama “A” was reported missing by her mother. Darlene claimed that the purse was in the possession of Danielle P******.
Durham said that during an interview with Piedmont resident Marty L******** he told investigators he dropped Fuqua off at a rock wall on Piedmont - Jacksonville Road on the night of Oct. 29. A Search was done at what is known by locals as the rock wall (a low rock wall next to the road) on Piedmont – Jacksonville Road by Piedmont police and the Piedmont Rescue Squad on Feb. 7th.
Phyllis Cook said Tidwell told her during a phone conversation that the search at the rock wall was done “to shut you all up”. Cook received an emailed apology from Tidwell on Feb. 12.

Danielle P******* was arrested on March 25, charged with fraudulent use of a credit/debit card. The card was linked to a bank account jointly belonging to both Fuqua and her mother Darlene. Durham said P******* may have allegedly used the card more than once, and that according to statements made by Darlene, P******* allegedly used the card without her permission. P******* court date has not yet been set, according to Durham.
