Several news sources picking up the story of Joran's "girlfriend" and her possibly being pregnant. Interesting that they all list her as "unidentified". Considering that his lawyer was receiving death threats, I wonder how this woman is managing to carry on this relationship with him without any public backlash.

If this is true, and considering the other stories we've heard about other prisoners having conjugal visits, one even going so far as to murder his girlfriend and hide her in his cell at another facility, it's just disgusting to think about.

I feel bad for Stephany's family. Just like with Beth, it's just one thing after another with this guy. His victim's families can never have peace.

He's being held for trial - maybe inmates who haven't yet been tried and found guilty are given rights.

I have no skin in this game, and don't care one way or the other how he's treated, but I do feel sorry when I see Stefany's dad so upset at Joran looking so fat and happy, and know Beth must be feeling such a weight of sadness.

Right. I have no idea what he looks like now, but the other accusations that he has conjugal visits, sells candy out of his cell and has a pregnant girlfriend all seem to be fabrications.

This MUST be the mystery dark-haired woman that was visiting him soon after he arrived at Castro Castro, as mentioned in these 2 articles from June 28, 2010 ... interestingly, almost exactly 9 months prior to the baby's birth on Mar. 30, 2011 .... so they must have been having sex right from the get-go...no wonder he wanted a curtain for his cell, as mentioned in these reports!!!):

What a stupid, stupid girl....how does she think he will ever be able to support this child? Or will Anita pay her, since supposedly she's the one who sent her to visit him in the first place. She must be really proud of her son now!!

As per the report above, "The prison bureau also says van der Sloot has had only one female visitor in his 13 months at the Castro Castro prison and that is believed to be the confrontation between him and Beth Holloway."

And we know this isn't true as per the 2 articles I just posted from Jun 28, 2010!!!
 
Can this get any more sickening? He's fathering children while in prison for murder!

During the latest hearing of his trial, Mr Van der Sloot refused to confirm or deny whether he had fathered a child, saying it was a private matter.

It’s thought his mother will travel to the Peruvian capital within days to take the baby to Holland. :eek:

Why would she be taking the child? What about the mother? I am so confused.
 
It's so hard to know what's the truth here.

I don't see any reputable news agency actually taking credit for agreeing this is true - between quoting the Daily Mail (eeks) or quoting Mr. Flores and his attorney, that's all I see.

Maybe it's true. It just seems like a major media outlet - especially one from Alabama - would step in and investigate this stuff.
 
ugh, I really hope it's not true that he fathered a child but oddly enough, it wouldn't surprise me

Who to believe, who to believe....Joran's ex-lawyer or the Flores family lawyer??? I'll go with the Flores family, but who knows?!!??

"The woman, Leydi Figueroa, is willing to take a DNA test to prove that Mr Van der Sloot is not her baby’s father, Máximo Altez told Peruvian daily El Comercio. Mr Altez said he paid the woman on several occasions to deliver things to Mr Van der Sloot in prison.

On Saturday, television station Frecuencia Latina said Mr Van der Sloot had fathered a son by Ms Figueroa, adding that his mother is due to travel to Lima to take the baby to Holland. The broadcaster based its report on statements made by Edward Álvarez, the lawyer for the family of Stephany Flores...

Frecuencia Latina also claims it got hold of a psychiatric evaluation of Mr Van der Sloot. The report describes him as narcissistic, aggressive, calculating, manipulative and as someone keen to adopt the role of victim."

Curiouser and curiouser. The mantra surrounding all things VanderSloot.

TY to everyone (especially FLNY) for updating on this. I've been knee deep in trying to keep up with the Anthony trial and I appreciate any and all new information. :)
