We're live to Clear Island Waters land slip and breaking news on the disappearance of Upper Coomera Mum Novy Chardon

Doesn't sound good. I'm not on the GC - anyone else??

Why take so long to check out his business. He mustn't have been cooperating or he would have told them they could check sooner

POLICE have raided the business of John Chardon, husband of missing Gold Coast woman Novy Chardon, as the investigation into her disappearance ramps up.

Regional crime co-ordinator Superintendent David Hutchinson said the raid was 'routine' and not prompted by any new lead

Supt Hutchinson said police were communicating with Mr Chardon through his lawyer.
He said there had been no new significant developments in the case

To me the word "raid" sounds like an unwanted search though

I see on twitter that Novy's family really would like to tell their side

"both sides" - sounds a bit like Novy's family and Chardon might be at odds.
I truly hope -somebody- helps the family to be heard. Bad enough that someone vanishes, with police searches etc, let alone that they are thousands of miles away and communication with authorities might be poor.

Chardon sounds like a pig, to me. The way he spoke about his missing wife at first, for goodness' sake.. I am betting he didn't treat her all that well. And that her family know it, if so..

Kopps Road behind Movie World looks quite close to Coomera River. I wonder if police have done any searches in that area.

Update 4: missing woman, Upper Coomera
February 21, 2013 at 2:47 pm

Coomera detectives investigating the disappearance of Upper Coomera woman Novy Chardon are hoping someone may have seen her car (pictured) in Kopps Road, Oxenford before it was discovered in Nerang.

The dark coloured Volvo XC90 4WD wagon with Queensland registration 860LTZ was located parked in Bowden Court, Nerang on February 11.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle or anyone associated with the vehicle, on Kopps Road (which runs behind Movieworld and is semi-rural), between 11pm Wednesday February 6 and 6pm Monday February 11 to contact Crime Stoppers.

When looking at the places where Novy’s car was sighted, it's a pretty direct drive from her house in Upper Coomera - past Kopps Rd - to Bowden Court.

But if a person coming from Coomera turned onto Kopps Rd and continued along Kopps Rd they'd end up right in the forests. Then they could drive the long way around to Bowden Court.

That's a lot of forest to search.

This article from our local paper on the Gold Coast appears to suggest there are negotiations for Mr Chardon to return. We are having some interesting weather here at the moment. Trying to picture in my head how close the river is. We have a low pressure system over us at the moment & Coomera River is one that regularly bursts its banks during heavy rains.

So they'd like the big guy to come home now, would they? Hmm .. wonder if he'll come.

Interesting this article inferred that the car may have been sighted on the side of Kopps Road.

I guess they'll be searching that area next.

do you think Mr J knew he would eventually be found out . By flying them over he is making sure the kids are going to be looked after and taking them to Indonesia so Novys mum could have custody would be easier if they were already there. just a thought to what's looking like a very sad outcome for Novy.

The 'my family' sticker on the back of her car. I think it is reflective of the state of their relationship...

Possible, but I can't see him fronting up to her mother if he is the one responsible.

I think, given his initial comments, that he was just planning on sticking with his story that Novy always took off and was unreliable so had to take the kids with him at the last minute.
