On Thursday, a representative of the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, who declined to give her full name, said "an autopsy report has not been finalized." She also said her department is not allowed to release a preliminary cause of death.
Up to now, the cause of death has been categorized "undetermined."
Personal items that police believe were with Olson when she disappeared also were listed in the search warrant. They include a black coat with a hood, a gray Iowa Hawkeyes hooded sweatshirt, a silver Apple laptop computer, a small ladies billfold with the word "love" in white letters on it, a small black purse with a short strap, a white iPhone with a black case and Olson's debit and credit cards.
According to the search warrant:
Missing with Olson was her gray 2005 Toyota Avalon with Iowa plates.
Police later located her vehicle in McVay's possession.
Olson was seen at 7:44 p.m. on Dec. 28 at the Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque. This was observed on video.
Smith said police interviewed McVay in January.
McVay told police he dropped Olson off at 6:30 a.m. Dec. 29, the search warrant states. He said he left with her car after she gave him permission to drive it. She was seen pumping gas at a Rock Island gas station later on Dec. 29, according to previously published information.

Carrie Olson's former boyfriend was charged Friday morning in her death and disappearance.
Tim McVay, 39, of Rock Island is charged with first-degree murder and concealment of a homicidal death, Rock Island County State's Attorney John McGehee said.
McVay was arrested at a work site in Silvis Friday morning and taken into custody without incident, McGehee said.
He is being held in the Rock Island County Jail on a $1.5 million bond.
