If a sw was executed on my home today, they would find at least 6, because I have a handful of old ones that I just chucked into a drawer when I got a new one.

Forgive me here, as I cannot go back and cross reference to the documents anymore, but there was a variety of cold weather gear found -ear muffs, possibly a motorcycle collar (depending on your reading of shock/snock collar-someone posted a link to an item that matches snock), a ski mask, ??gloves??, a few jackets (?), and maybe more.

Absent from the list, to the best of my recollection, is the freezer itself. If the freezer were a portable chest freezer, I'd think they'd have taken it and not just sampled it.

Is it possible that it is in fact a large walk-in, and the cold weather gear relates to his being in there along with his victim(s)?

Thank you. I'm relieved in some strange way lot hear that. I missed seeing the freezer was taken. I got a little jumbled up with all the repetition, and not remembering seeing it was really bothering me.

I've been on vacation and I can't possibly get caught up with those of you who are doing so much work dissecting and sorting out the details on this case. I just want to be sure to thank the members who did all the work obtaining, scanning, sharing, decoding and explaining those warrant documents! I can't figure out that "behind the scenes" stuff, but I did download the PDF docs when I saw the links yesterday. Thank you! Scarier than I expected, but much more informative than the bits and pieces in the news articles.

That handwriting gave me a headache from the get go & now I no longer have the documents. But in that snippet, he uses upper case, lower case & cursive all mixed up together. all 3 r are lower case cursive and consistent.

I myself skip around between upper case and lower case when printing with no rhyme or reason. As someone who had to write a lot with pencil and legal pad in my work, what mattered to me is that I could read it, otherwise it was a chore and I was in a hurry. In many professions, documenting things is a necessary evil. I think that comes into play here.

Just found this, but can't get much further than the display of search results vid DuckDuckGo. When I clicked on the link, it just took me to the most recent blog posts. Maybe a sleuthier sleuth would have more luck with this? (I have no clue how to get the photo to rotate-my apologies for the need to head-tilt!)

Something motivated them to collect and enter her dna after 37 years, imo. It would be logical to conclude that JDW is likely a poi in Yvonne Regler's abduction? After rereading the article, unless sometime in the past two years JDW became a poi, it may be someone else. The article states that her dna was entered in 2014 and the poi was identified during the investigation since then. Guess, we should know soon, huh?

I agree. I think it's a safe bet JDW may be a poi in Yvonne's case.

Here is is a screen shot of the line that says "shock collar" or "snock collar"

Having done transcriptions from handwritten notes of doctors who have horrible penmanship, I would still say it is sHock collar. With all the horrendous things being discovered, a shock collar seems to fit his dastardly deeds. The H does look like an N, but when I rush printing sometimes I will make an H with the crossing like starting near the bottom, the same as this seems to be. Whoever wrote this does not have neat writing style, some other letters are difficult to read, also. For instance, the R at the end of collar looks like ...? JMO

Yvonne was 17 when she disappeared, JDW would've been 17 also in 1977.

Right around the time a budding serial killer might feel confident enough to take action.

Thanks! I see it now. There are actually many times the "shop" is written and each time with a lower case "h". I don't think the writer would suddenly change to an Upper case "H". Seems as if it may be an "n". ???

I spent a horrific time today reading about and trying to understand serial killers, specifically Richard Marc Evonitz, who is known to have killed three girls in Virginia in 1996 and 1997. His undoing came when a victim in South Carolina escaped. (I've mentioned him here before.)

(If my husband should ever peek at my search history, collection of screenshots, and bookmarked items, he will so totally start looking at me side-eyed.)

I have a lot to parallels to draw between Evonitz and JDW. To start, the women's undies that investigators found at JDW's place. Investigators found a similar stash at Evonitz's. (He kept a footlocker of trophies, lists, notes, newspaper clippings, videos, and undies.) Here's more from a newspaper article:

The footlocker also contained pornographic tapes and many pairs of female underwear, all sizes, from infant to adult.
Police were puzzled by the underwear. They could not determine if it had been stolen or purchased. None of it contained telling DNA evidence.

Police also were puzzled to find holes cut in the crotch of many of the pieces. Later, when examining Evonitz's pornographic tape collection, they found out why. Deep within some of the tapes were scenes that Evonitz recorded. They were scenes of him, wearing the underwear and pleasuring himself.

I apologize for obsessing over what I see as parallels between JDW and RME. Just a note before I go on:

In the two years since his suicide, eight FBI profilers chronicling his past have been unable to link Evonitz to any other crimes outside the Spotsylvania cases and the Columbia kidnapping. But they can't shake the feeling that such a meticulous, obsessed and calculating killer must have done more. Police know that in recent years Evonitz traveled to Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas and Wisconsin.

I attended Mary Washington when they were abducted. I quickly stopped taking all of those walks I used to take alone. Terrifying. I'm the same with my children as you are with yours.
