I was actually just looking into that. Thank you for the guidance! Mind if I bounce any questions off you that I might have?
I'll do my best. Just tag me so I see it.

Hello everyone! I recently heard about this site, and thought that I might be able to help. There does not appear to be any guidance on how to format these intro posts so I thought I would just give some basic background information about myself.

I am an Iraq war veteran currently residing in New Jersey. Regarding pertinent experience, I have a combined 17 years of experience between the United States Army, county level Department of Public Safety, private security, and college level education. With reference to my education background, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Intelligence Studies with a concentration in Intelligence Analysis from the American Military University and am a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS), Iraq Afghanistan Veterans of America, Veterans of Foreign Wars, The New Jersey Veterans Network / Operation Rebound, and the Wounded Warrior Project.

My military experience includes combat tours to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and without going into more detail than I feel comfortable giving, includes experience in target identification and intelligence gathering. In total I spent just under 3 years in Iraq doing various types of missions including counter terrorism, counter insurgency, electronic warfare, VIP escort, route clearance, recovery, and security, quick reaction force, and manned the company level Tactical Operations Center (TOC) for a time.

On the civilian side I have experience assisting in police investigations, emergency management, intelligence analysis and gathering, National Crime Information Center database experience, law enforcement operations support, and fire / ems operations support; both at the county level and individual jurisdiction level.

I am currently dealing with some medical issues that keep me at home most of the time and has provided to me, as a result, a vast quantity of free time. It is mainly because of this and a desire to continue to serve, that I am here. I hope I can be of assistance and bring closure to people who are searching for it. In my opinion there is no higher calling than the desire to serve ones country, and humanity in general, and it is my sincere hope that I can make a difference in some fashion. I look forward to speaking with you all in the future!

- Respectfully,
Redleg

Welcome! Do you have any particular cases you are following?

Hello All!
I am so new to this, so much to learn! I have been an avid true crime researcher for many
years. I hope to learn and be of some help here. I have heard this is a wonderful place that does a lot of good. I am so happy to be here! You guys can call me Dany if you like. All advice welcome!

Welcome! Do you have any particular cases you are following?

Not at present. But I'll be going over the ones linked here-in this weekend and see what I can come up with. Figured it'd be the best place to start!

Hello Dany, and welcome, is there a specific aspect of research you like? Unidentified, Missing, Cold cases? etc.

My goodness I forgot to do this!

My name is Marie, and I’ve been obsessed with true crime for as long as I can remember. I’m 39, married with one little dude who turns five tomorrow!

I remember being obsessed with the Amy Fisher case and Jon Benet. I can watch True Crime docs all day, currently watching Madeline McCann.

I get my fix with podcasts, right now I’m listening to Cold, since I’m caught up with all of my others.

I look forward to sleuthing with you!

Apologies for taking forever to get back to this. My puppy has been having some issues the last few days. I'll be looking this over today.

No problem. Puppies, or fur babies as we call them, have top priority here. ;)

Hi, I'm Julie. I only got into true crime a few years ago when I came across the channel Investigation Discovery. I mostly stick to watching stuff from that channel and listening to Nancy Grace's podcast, but will sometimes check out videos on YouTube or stuff on Netflix. There are many cases I find interesting, but the most interesting to me are the murder of Caylee Anthony and the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.

Good morning Sleuthies. My Name is Tracy. I'm relatively new to this website, ( created my acct last week ) but have heard about websleuths for the last year of so.
I'm a 50something from Tx, and until i began listening to true crime podcasts about a year - 18 months ago, did not realize how interesting true crime is. Until then, my interest had been sporadic, at best.
Before i begin posting to any forums. i'd like to take some time touring the site, learning the rules and guidelines. also familiarizing myself with some of the cases here. Which i've done a bit of so far, but life and work demand the majority of my time and attention.
Please feel free to introduce and share a little bit about yourselves in the comments and maybe tell me about the cases you follow and why ( ? ). Also, any guidelines or suggestions you may be willing to share would be appreciated.

Have a great day
T

Hello, sleuths! I'm new here, but not new to murder mystery. I grew up on "Muder Road", which is the fun name everyone in my school gave it when I needed a ride home after play rehearsals. I started a Reddit to try to compile some info about the murders, but I have to be honest. I don't get Reddit. I've always hope at least the murder of Kathy Menendez would be solved. I have my theories about Sarah Boehm. Anyway, here's a link where you can find the few actively usable links to info about the murders:
