This sounds promising! Despite his demons, if anyone can aid in finding Vanessa it will be Tim Miller and TES. They are top notch all around, nothing but respect and admiration for Mr. Miller!

It does. I’m wondering if they are returning based on the lab results of those items they tested a couple days ago, or if this is based on a tip.

Either way, I think they are a heck of a lot closer to finding Vanessa than they were not long ago.

Don't know if an approved source but, it states EquuSearch is back to León River after receiving new info.

"Texas Equusearch Director Tim Miller reported that they have received new information about the case and will once again return to the Rio León where they had been searching since last week for five days."

"Miller did not share the new information, merely saying that the search will once again be in the area of the river that is located about 30 miles east of Fort Hood."

Report if not approved.

Thanks, this great.

"It's actually not uncommon for a unit armorer to drop in wearing civvies (civillian clothing) on their day off. There are usually only three people in a company that can open the unit arms room, the company XO, the armorer and the secondary armorer. They are the only three people with keys. If the primary is at school and the XO is busy, they're calling the secondary to come in and open the arms room, day off or not."

Do you think VG, a PFC wold be able to be the secondary armorer?

It's not unusual for the primary to be a SGT and the secondary to be a lower enlisted Soldier.

I don't know about you, but I consider the fact that her superior marked her as accounted when she wasn't there is proof that he's the one who killed her.

It can happen from time to time. Really depends on how many Soldiers that NCO is responsible for. Regardless filing a false report is fairly serious, and if nothing else he should be facing consequences for that. I think it is a fairly large jump to conclusions to say dereliction of duty equals murders though, especially if there hasn't been a body found. I think we're all still hoping she's alive.

Remember April 22nd was mid covid19 lock down. Military life was disrupted as was civilian life, normal on post activities such as Formations, PT, ceremonies, etc would have been cancelled or done remotely during lock down. Maybe check in was by phone, email, online by SS number.
I think the regs for Fort Hood during lock down are posted on their FB page, when I get time I'll take a look. Moo.

Not sure how Hood was doing it but we had telephonic check in at 0600 every morning for accountability.

This bothers me so much. I know they conducted searches earlier, but at least optics wise, it appears they have stepped it up recently in response to tremendous public pressure.

The 3rd CR is leaving no rock unturned in the search for Pfc Vanessa Guillén – Fort Hood Press Center

Snipped and bolded from the linked article above:

EDITOR’S NOTE: The names of some of the Soldiers below have been withheld to protect them against online harassment. <snip>

As soon as we found out Pfc. Guillén was missing we started searching for her,” a specialist from the Regimental Engineer Squadron said. “Troopers within the regiment have walked, driven and searched the training areas day in and day out and we will continue to search for her until she is found.”

Searches have included buildings, barracks, fields, training areas, lakes, and trails all over Fort Hood.

Once I participated in our search operations for Pfc. Guillén, I realized how thorough the searches were,” a private 1st class from the squadron said. “First we started on the roads, then we looked through tree lines moving deeper into the woods and behind the training areas — leaving no stone unturned.”

I have no idea what bothers you, but I'll tell you what bothers me:

The assumption by many that LE has been sitting on their hands all this time bothers me.

The assumption by many that nothing was being done to find VG until recently bothers me.

Those of us who have followed a lot of missing persons cases know enough to know that LE does not conduct these investigations in a fishbowl.

I never expected transparency in this case, because that's not how LE works.
They hold their cards close to the vest, until they're ready to play their hand.

The fact that the names of soldiers who are helping to search for VG have to be withheld to protect them from online harassment is an absolute outrage.

It's abundantly clear to me that some are using VG's disappearance to advance their own political agendas.
And that is most unfortunate.

Because this is about VG.

It's about finding her, and ensuring justice for her.

JMO.

Hummn still dont see a mention of a white van. That looks like a very nice Jeep Wrangler. Which wasnt it said she was going to get a new car. Was the Jeep hers? Was it someone she works with? Was she driving or a passenger? Maybe the mom thinks the person that owns this Jeep is involved but if she was being harrased she certainly wouldnt have been driving or in this white Jeep.

It has the back square windows on the sides like my Jeep Commander had, as well as the wheels. A Jeep Commander is an expensive vehicle and costs more than a Wrangler. It looked identical to mine right down to the color. I would guess it was a 2008 model. I kept mine for 3 years and then got a new vehicle of a different model.

I would like to know if Vanessa owned this vehicle or if it belonged to someone else. What did Vanessa drive home to Houston on the weekends she went home? I wish someone would ask her family.

May not be proof but it does show he was lax in his duties and I'll just bet he got in trouble for that. Vanessa coming up missing should show him how important it is to record the real status of every single soldier.
