I mention this as I was there too. He may have had some behavioural problem. School was free range. I completely understood Lord of the Flies what I read it after only 6 months at this school.

I got the hell out of there. G was there for years.

They do bloom closer to August 1. Apparently different states used to celebrate it at different times, from August to September but they made the National day September 1. It will always be August 1 to me and the country will be awash with yellow for it. It seems so right for Allison Day.

When I met up with the kids from that school when I got to high school, I swear each of the kids that went there were convinced they were special.

No, no, no........what was unreasonable was the way Gerard Baden Clay treated Allison, the way he ended her life, the way he disposed of her body, the lies he told to protect himself and the total disregard for leaving 3 little girls without a mother..... THAT was what was unreasonable!
 
I would be interested to know from Alioop what the process is for appealing? An appeal has been lodged - or is it an application for an appeal to be granted? meaning - just because they've lodged an application doesn't mean there will be an appeal? Meaning that the grounds for the appeal have to be accepted and then an appeal granted - so the application could be thrown out?

Would just like legal clarification on this, and it would be good to know what the details of the process are, who makes the decision, and the timeframe?
 
As soon as I heard that taxpayers won't be funding the appeal, I thought:- "I wonder if TM has been receiving phone calls/emails trying to convince her that a) G REALLY does love her and although it may have come across that he was throwing her under the bus during the trial, that wasn't the case - it was all his legal teams idea - it's all their fault, and b) that she can PROVE her love for G by funding his appeal, after all - she didn't defend him during the trial, and she owes it to him.

My understanding is that legal aid will fund this appeal, but an appeal to the High Court, not the appeal court of the Supreme Court , would not be funded. Alioop will know for sure.

[Court of Appeal
The Court of Appeal is a division of the Supreme Court and hears all appeals from the Supreme and District Courts, and many tribunals.

The court does not hear entire cases or have a jury, and deals only with the subject of the appeal. It is made up of three or five judges of the Supreme Court who consider the grounds of the appeal and make a judgment.

The judges listen to the arguments by the opposing sides and decide whether an error of law was made or some crucial fact was overlooked in the original hearing.

The Court of Appeal can:

dismiss the appeal and uphold the decision of a lower court or tribunal
allow the appeal, set aside the decision of the lower court and make a different order in its place.
If the appeal is dismissed, nothing changes. If the appeal is allowed, the judges can order a retrial or make a different order in its place.

That certainly wasn't done as a blanket letter to the local congregation. They had a long standing association with Ashgrove Baptist prior to coming to Townsville. A number of cashed up people from there were approached- possibly who had supported I and O at other times. MOO.
