2010.10.21 - Casey Attending Status Hearing 2010.10.29???

If I were KC and I had gotten even a slight breeze of what was going on with my defense team possibly fabricating evidence, I would want to be there everytime JB and CM so much as fart on my "billable" time.

As long as HHJP continues to ask, "Is there anything further?" we can count on JB always having "something." With JB there is no such thing as a "mere scheduling/trial status hearing." :cow:

I would just hope that eventually he would be (I'll even take "act") prepared---these last two & HHJP being more prepared then him....:waitasec:----wonder what color up a creek, without a paddle....

Yes. He fancies himself as a modern day Columbo, feigning that something just dawned on him, ....um, uh..judge, there is just one more quick thing....

Ore tenus motions is his middle name.

Think its more like "Perry Mason" (without writiers or script)---or the lawyer in that book that he quoted (it is a classic and can't for the life of me think of its name)---heck he may even think Johnny Cochran?????

IMO
Considering how much fabricating Casey did I wonder if it would even phase her.

Casey is living in her fantasy world and Jose is feeding it. I think her being in a hearing is the only time she gets a reality check. I hope HJP mentions the death penalty in front of her again. I think she cringes when this reality is mentioned.

Did BP ever rule on the KC doesn't want to wear shackles motion?

I'm really hoping that HHJP will remind JB that the shackles are rules of the jail and is part of their procedures. I'm so sick of them acting like the rules should not pertain to KC because she is special! JMO

BBM

The book was "To Kill A Mockingbird"
Prosecuting Attorney was Horace Gilmer
Defense Attorney was Atticus Finch

I also agree his efforts to have her shackles removed are pathetic. However, if Baez was thinking strategically, it would be one of the few opportunities to wring a little sympathy/pity out of a jury member to see this small slender woman come clanking in with waist and ankle shackles.

Until you know more about her, ICA hardly looks dangerous.

She would only 'look' dangerous if you could see into her mind!

I "think" the shackle request was answered that they would be removed ONLY for transporting in and out of the elevators??

It seems the day of this being brought up, that JBP said something along those lines, that he would think about it, but, at that time, this was the only thing he could come up with at the time to ensure her safety so that she isn't falling again.
Or, maybe that was the jails decision to make sure that she doesn't have a trip and fall again?

IMO, she should be treated no differant than any other inmate that has to make court appearances.
She has been issued her jail attire, and, that is what she should have to wear, just like all the rest of the inmates from Orange County, and, the state of Florida.

Not that we've heard. I guess we'll see on Friday.

(Also waiting to see if you're "befriended.")

Thanks BChand! I thought they had to hear each motion within 2 weeks. Maybe this one was just too ridiculous for the good judge to even acknowledge. No befriending yet as real me lol!! In fairness, he's probably working through weekends doing the depos he should have done 18 months ago. Speaking of which.....only 1 Saturday left for them to depose Amy.

I thought Jose's big stink about it was brought on because the one hearing went on exceedingly long and she was very uncomfortable sitting there in ankle shackles. I think the hearing in July when they discussed the 911 calls went on for a long time and after that is when he asked the judge to allow her to be comfortable. I am going back to look it up.

Casey unchained? Judge Perry ruled on other matters, including a defense motion to remove Casey Anthony's shackles before she enters the courthouse elevator. Lead defense attorney Baez made the request today after Casey fell and chipped a tooth on entering an elevator after the previous June 2 hearing. Judge Perry granted the request, noting that the shackles were to "go right back on."

I'm hoping so too and I'm also sick of special care for KC ... the defense would have you believe that she's an innocent defendent ... ummmm .... they seem to forget the little "misunderstanding" between their client and Amy which made KC a convicted felon ... not exactly innocent ...

The Judge did not actually grant the request at that time. Judge Perry said he would consider it ... but IF he did grant it, that Baez should understand that the shackles only come off when she is in the courtroom, and go back on when she leaves the courtroom. We have not seen a final Order or ruling on that request. The Court Minutes only say that the Judge will take it under advisement.

July 15, 2010 HEARING (Cindy and Lee testify)
Baez asked at the end of KC could have ankle chains off.

It was addressed in #7 on page 3 of this Order:

ORDER MEMORIALIZING STATUS HEARING JULY 15, 2010
July 20, 2010

Hope JB remembers his color chart.

OMG Lambchop, I just fell out laughing when Baez held up for show and tell his little chart and announced he had work product on it, but wanted to share it with the judge. The judge immediately said..."I don't want to see it".

You just can't make this stuff up!

The lady with the blond hair sitting behind Cindy, is she the one who took the photos of George on the night she allegedly caught the Anthonys taking down the crosses they had erected at the remains site? Is she the one who alleged that Dennis M. with Kidfinders tried to run her off the road so she had to phone the police?

If you look at #7 on page 3 of HHJP's order, it addresses the shackles:
