Accusations of WAPOL corruption: lots to read in Facebook page "PoliceLeaks Australia" post dated 26 November 2014.

Quote from transcript from Four Corners TV show:

"STEPHEN McDONELL: The fight against organised crime in Western Australia has all the appearances of being a shambles.
Detectives, criminals and government watchdogs can agree on only one fact -- there is corruption in the police service.
TERRY O'CONNOR, CHAIRMAN, ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION: I suppose you've got to expect that there's always going to be some bad eggs in the barrel.
We would say that there are more bad eggs in the Western Australian Police Service barrel than one might expect.
STEPHEN McDONELL: The trouble is nobody can agree on who the corrupt officers are or what constitutes corruption.
LES AYTON, DEPUTY POLICE COMMISSIONER, 1994-1996: There is no way you can effectively catch criminals by sticking strictly to the letter of the law.
Good detectives have to take the law to the knife's edge.
BOB FALCONER, POLICE COMMISSIONER, 1994-1999: If you're skilled in detecting and presenting evidence, well, clearly, if you want to turn to the dark side of the force -- to use an Americanism -- then you can easily use those same skills and knowledge as a countermeasure.
STEPHEN McDONELL: The beneficiary of this accusation and counteraccusation is organised crime.
Western Australia has seen failed prosecutions, the mysterious death of a star witness in a drug trial and a high-tech police operation called off without notice.
Tonight, Four Corners goes to the dark parts of Perth where police and criminals go and where corruption seems to be prosecuted selectively."

Photocopiers as "lie detectors".
An empty box with a couple of wires with alligator clips on the end as a "testicle zapper"
Driving the secretary out for lunch when witnesses were to be asked questions.
And seems like the glass repairs to the detective shop windows must've cost a fortune as they were always breaking apparently. And according to this George Silich was as death as a post by 2003, so I don't know how Vernon could say he had a "argument" with him before Vernon "slept walked" over his head

Les Ayton might be right is some aspects, but I'm sure that there were less expensive ways to torture suspects than breaking windows with their heads. IMO

Who would think killing an 8 year old a thrill? Doesn't seem like the accused. How old would his child have been then?

What do you mean by all dressed up? Hardly a game that you would keep score?

Ex-cop and former Labor minister Bob Kucera was the Commander of the Fremantle police district in 1997, which at the time took in the Rockingham area.

Hamburger Bob famous for bringing in the hamburgers and coffee when Hancock and Lewandowskie 'interviewed' the Mickelburgs in Belmont nick.

30 extra detectives and looking at perhaps 16 other unsolved murders. Its very strange with all these cops working on the case that they may not have the brief ready for the original two murder charges, a sexual assault and indecent assault charges.

Is it possible they have been adding other charges that have been suppressed? The was the first news came out (abc) about vacating the court date until Feb, was written strangely IMO. Maybe nothing.

Mr Edwards is yet to plead to all of the charges against him. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-10-23/claremont-killer-accused-trial-delayed-to-next-year/9077770

With Lisa Govan, Wark's trial for abducting and murdering Hayley Dodd has just finished. If he is somehow found innocent in this judge only trial (seemed circumstantial IMO) then the cops might be able to whack another charge on him for LG. He matches the description of a bald headed guy seen getting into a taxi with her and might have had connections with Deroes. JMOO.

Sounds like a typo since there hasn't been a plea yet.

IMO:

- High chance he pleads guilty to Huntingdale and Karrakatta charges
- Low chance he pleads guilty to JR and CG charges
- Zero chance he pleads guilty to SS charge

I've gone down the rabbit hole and can't stop reading!!

Whoops!

IC - I also wondered what PCS meant by all dressed up? What DOES that mean?

Aged 11 Gerard went missing on Sat 14 October 1997 (20 years ago).

I’ve read beforehand that Gerard was found fully clothed, except his cap which is still missing.

‘Police have asked for anyone with information about a Yankees baseball cap Gerard was wearing to come forward. It is the only piece of clothing of his that is still missing’.

I think BREs stepdaughter would have been 3 or 4. These are only my thoughts and opinions and has been included for timeline purposes.

Was there an identikit picture of a person of interest and description of tattoos on his arms?

I can’t find an identikit. A few weeks prior to Gerard’s disappearance another young boy was offered a lift. He was waiting at a Kent Street bus stop near the Rockingham public library.

The driver of a beige or cream coloured sedan. When the 11-year old boy declined the man drove away. There’s only a vague description.

Gerard went missing shortly after passing 99 Kent Street.
