I could not stay living (and sharing a boundary) with this man after finding out though...especially with kids.

it is hard to understand how the father of the kids was able to let this happen, too.. not trying to be a smarty , but there has to be some sort of explanation about this that escapes me. I cant think of a reason, but obviously, there has to be a good one.

This is reminding me of Stephanie Scott & in that instance he had help to get back to his house...

If Karen's car was torched I'm wondering if Karen, like Stephanie, was also burned somewhere so to destroy any DNA.

Another odd little coincidence... where MC says he saw her car in Myrtleford, near the Target store, is where the Cardamone Catering business used to be located.. . weird, huh?

we know her phone is off, and has been off all this time, as well as missing. Therefore, unable to triangulate. .... Deliberately so , it would be reasonable to say.

we know, from council records, from land records, etc. that Karen and the Cardamones have been neighbors for about 20 years.. they are not strangers. It is possible that the elder Cardamone drove Karen's kids to school on the school bus. .. Karen would have been a contemporary of Michael, and his sister.

Agreed Acidtear! Karen might have made the mistake of not locking her door, she fought and he used that wrench.

Was she murdered inside or outside her home? Her car was used to transport her and that's why it was burnt.



The complainant said the applicant was standing beside her holding a 30cm wrench as if he would hit her and looking “really angry”. She backed up into the corner of the caravan bed. He told her to “shut up” and “take your clothes off, just strip for me, takThe complainant removed her upper clothing at the command of the applicant.

Ms Chetcuti is the mother of two teenagers, is well-known in the Whorouly and Wangaratta area.
She had moved from Melbourne to Whorouly with her husband, who she is now separated from, to run the pub about two decades ago. The pair were publicans for about five years before Ms Chetcuti began working for the City of Wangaratta.

They confirmed an earlier sighting of Ms Chetcuti, at the Aldi supermarket in Wangaratta between 5.12pm and 5.17pm on Tuesday.
Police said she was then at the Whorouly Hotel until 7.20pm.

That, plus the state her house was left in – undisturbed, but with her car gone, handbag still there and lights still on – triggered a homicide squad investigation.

UPDATE: POLICE have arrested a neighbour of missing woman Karen Chetcuti and formed a crime scene at his house.


Michael Cardamone was arrested in Ringwood this morning after detectives yesterday went to his home expecting to be able to speak to him about Karen Chetcuti’s disappearance, but he was not there.

The detectives looked around the back of his Whorouly farm before leaving shortly after.

'though Mr Cardamone himself told Fairfax Media and News Corp in bizarre interviews on Friday that he believed he was being targeted because of his prior offence.'

There was no sign of Mr Cardamone on Saturday and his white ute remained in the driveway.

Fairfax Media was told on Saturday there may be at least three suspects being investigated over the disappearance.

Ooh and It is understood another neighbour saw a white car leaving the Ms Chetcuti's home on Tuesday night, but it is unclear as to what time.

I think the other potential 2 could be druggo mates? These types stick together and he could've called in a favour! In the appeal documents it states his drug use, which is why I bring it up - also, he's a known user and more...

In the murder of Stephanie Scott, Chucklehead Stamford walked a distance back to town after dumping Stephanie's vehicle and a few saw him along the road IIRC.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a mate or relo who lives around Myrtleford.
I imagine crims learn these tricks in prison.

Exactly!! They learn all sorts of dodgy crap inside! As I said above, I think calling in a favour of a mate might have been the case, I doubt it would be family.

Those were the days when tobacco was grown around that area.. .. not any more.. the tobacco farmers of Myrtleford were forced to stop growing the stuff, and the sad fact was then realized that nothing much else could grow on soil that had previously had tobacco on it, due to the chemicals used in it's production. Some compensation was awarded, but certainly not as much as the farmers expected ... some moved away, and it appears from registers that there is no C family farm in Myrtleford these days... only the one at Whorouly. Perhaps his parents are deceased... perhaps there is a brother he shares this current property with, or perhaps a wife... don't know.... ..

He lives with his parents and has no current partner that I've heard of. There was an old Cardamone that passed away maybe 2014 or even 2015, not sure if that was his Dad or his Grandfather, he might have even had the same name?

That's interesting, I'd wondered where that ever was! There is a sign on the family home that says Cardamone Catering, they might have taken it and kept it at the house as a memory.

Police divers are searching wells on the missing mother's property.

In Whorouly residents all have their own ground water supply, there's no town water. So every house has a well, they're usually very deep...
