I assumed by what the ex wife was saying that they divorced 34 years ago when she was 36 years old but seperated before that and maybe took a while to actually settle their divorce so maybe that’s why dates don’t match up.

Can we please all remember that websleuths is a victim-friendly forum and I don’t think anyone here would doubt that sally is a victim.

Sally is a victim of her mother's actions and possibly of some evil person/people (if her Marion met with foul play) but she is also at risk of becoming a victim of Channel 7's sensationalist tactics.

This man was thought to have information. Ambushing him at his home with a film crew (after he said on the phone he didnt want to talk) might make for exciting TV/podcast but it's unlikely to result in his cooperation. This kind of approach burns bridges it isnt going to encourage Lesley, the bank manager or Marion herself (if shes still out there) to come forward.

Yes Mel 1303, Sally does mention the Medicare card use at Grafton and the house with the phone number matching the ad .... could she be referring to the 066 STD area code which included: Ballina, Casino, Coffs Harbour, Grafton, Lismore, Murwillumbah at the time? PS: What an absolutely beautiful place Luxembourg is, my goodness!!
Thanks for putting that footage up, was really good to watch and see body language and everything .... to me his body language is like "what in the world is going on here", you know, err, "who can believe this!" .... and he didn't come marching at them, it was a stroll for heaven's sake, hey, oh boy, such dramatic over-the-top reporting about his actions and behaviour, really .... my oh my .... he hasn't even been to Australia for goodness sake, hope they leave him alone now and get on with their investigation. Sorry if this is a little off-track but I thought there might be some intercultural elements at play in the exchange with Mr Remakel.

Luxemburg is a high uncertainty avoidance society (1 of 5 of Hofstede's cultural dimensions). Security and structure is valued and uncertain/ambiguous situations are anxiety provoking. Relationship wise, manners are important. Communication is direct. Cautious, trust is built over time.

In reference to my last comment asking about F Remakels partner's name, I relistened to the video Sally posted and her name sounds like Marie José Noi. If you google Fernand Remakel and images then the first picture, read the names and below it says José Maria... weird or am I just crazy and overthinking?? Also José is also a French name José - Wikipedia

EDIT: José and Marie/a are quite common names. I found a few Marie/a José's who are French actresses

Also, the F Remakel mentioned in the podcast that Fernand says is about 20 years too young, what's his father's name? Could start with F ..... Did they check why Marion's Medicare card was used in Grafton? Is/was there a way to check what kind of treatment it was used for?

Also, I've been listening to the case since day one and have been reading these theories here for a couple of weeks now. But, I've completely BLANKED on who Lesley is? Did I miss something? Haha.

Also, I still find it weird Marion (Florabella) and Fernand have the same initials. F Remakel. You can get away with some stuff by having the same initials, especially in 1997 I imagine.

Also, so weird that Fernand has the same lamp Marion had.... and all her belongings in the shipping container are gone? I wonder what else he might have in that house....

Lesley was Marion’s friend before she left for Europe. Marion wouldn’t let Sally or Lesley take her to the airport when she left. Lesley apparently won’t talk to Sally about Marion’s disappearance.

Whoops, strike out Post #308 re "who is Fernand the inventor" .... it must be the same man .... was thinking he didn't have the skillset for this, going by his career, etc .... but no, that was silly, he probably had the ideas for these inventions and someone else prepared them, the specifications and so on, per his instructions. Of course .... so thinking they're the same person now ...... yep.

You know, if my friend went missing off the face of the earth I’d be knocking on her families door asking some questions. Has she ever spoken to Sally about it? Or just since the podcast started she doesn’t want to talk?if you didn’t want to speak while being recorded or be filmed for the news you’d atleast prepare a statement for the team to read, well if it was me I would. Even if you know nothing, just words about Marion’s character would be enough. I just find it odd. I know it’s been a long time but it’s just not what you’d expect is it.

No follow up for us on the lady spotted with the cut on her leg, it seemed promising

New South Wales police, if any of you are reading this, would you be able to do a search to find out the first name of the Mr Remakel who placed the ad in Le Courrier in 1994? Would be indebted and very appreciative. It seems very wrong to suspect someone whose name starts with F when he may not even have the Christian name of person who placed the ad. If you could just pop the name in here for us under a non de plume would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much.

I think the Remakel lead should be put on the back burner. The police need to find Marion and ensure she is actually alive instead of assuming she is alive and until then she is Missing. There is no need for sally to be told where she is, just that she is alive and well.

Maybe need to find a 1996 one, which I believe is in NSW. I'm in Melbourne so can't get there, unless there's one down here I'd go and have a look? It also could be a business number, so that's a bit trickier - or registered in someone else's name .. so many variables. Alas and woe. Or has this phone book already been checked?

I know here in nz there are often phone books from other cities in the library. It might be worth asking your largest public library if they have any from nsw?
