At this height and weight, I’d venture to guess she was malnurioushed or exceedingly thin for her frame. That bag has to have some evidence of a home or neighborhood with the pollen so active right now in warm locations. Plus her DNA and the perps DNA should help quickly identify her.

Let us hope that they can analyze all of those items post haste. And who knows, maybe there is a missing child alert 'out there' for this poor victim. So sad.

Skylar Mannie left her home around 2 p.m. on Feb. 14. She was possibly seen the following day near Target off 10th Street and West Avenue K.

She was last seen wearing a gray hoodie with the word love on it, blue jeans and black shoes. She is described as being African-American at 5 feet 5 inches, 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Authorities are looking into whether this case may be linked with a young girl's body that was found in Hacienda Heights.

Could also be that she was dumped here (hate writing dumped referring to a child) by someone traveling through from a nearby state....also possible she was kidnapped at a younger age and perp “tired of her” here..would tie into her low weight if she was being held captive for years. JMO

It’s possible... but that’s also just SUCH a random road/trail/area/city. I live here in Hacienda Heights. Less than a 15 minute drive from the location she was found at. Seems a little unlikely that she isn’t from somewhere around here. Maybe not HH, but like I’ve said in another comment, there are a lot of small cities in this area. I’m just more inclined to believe whoever left her there has some knowledge of the area, even if it’s very little.

The girl was black, between 8 and 13 years of age, 4 feet 5 inches tall, and weighed just 55 pounds. He said there were no visible signs of malnutrition or mistreatment.

Aside from the pink shirt, she wore black and white loungewear pants but no shoes.

The girl’s body was bent into a black roll-away duffel bag, her head and torso slightly protruding. She was dumped onto an embankment along a popular equestrian trail in light brush.

The trail is a short drive into the hills south of the Pomona Freeway.

The sketch shows a young girl with no shoes and a pink shirt that says "future princess hero." She was also wearing pants with pandas printed on them.

There were no signs of trauma to the child's body, but it is a suspicious death investigation. Autopsy results had not come in as of Thursday morning.

Investigators believe she was only 8 to 13 years old and weighed 55 pounds. They are not commenting on what other items were found in the suitcase.
