yes she seams like the type of person who is always active. out and about. locking in room for a day wouldnt fit that characteristic.

That’s what I keep coming back to as well. There’s no way she was locked in there for 11 with total disregard to her children, who she was home schooling for one, and to whom she seemed a wonderful, engaged mother. She wouldn’t leave them (and be in the same house) to their own devices. IMO, MOO, alphabet soup du jour.
...I could never leave the house without my significant other without checking on them after being locked in a room for 11 hours... MOO
[My own opinion/speculation. Somewhat based on having 4 young children of my own.}
The family of Maya Millete, a Southern California woman who has been missing since early January, told Fox News on Tuesday they no longer have a private investigator because the city’s police department did not want the case jeopardized.
More at California missing mother's family no longer has P.I. because police don't want case ‘jeopardized’
That analysis is excellent. I would encourage everyone to listen to it. There is nothing to watch, so it is perfect for commuting, mopping, laundry, etc. I am not through it, but I had a hinky moment of my own at just about the 2:00 hour mark:
LM states "morning... sunrise hike" "wine-tasting in Temecula" and "early morning brunch". These are his excuses for why Maya was not at home early Saturday morning when her parents stopped by.
He's making it up, but I think he is recalling something. Did they ever take a hot air balloon in Temecula? There is a company Sunrise Balloons in Temecula. They serve pastries and champagne. The checkin is at a winery, and balloon riders qualify for a 2 for 1 wine tasting & tour deal.
This winery, Monte de Oro, has a bistro, but others nearby have brunch, champagne brunch, many restaurants, and there is a very nice casino-resort nearby, Pechanga.

It sounded to me like LM said something that he wished he had not, like he wanted to correct the word "morning" with the word "sunrise". We know he wants people to believe that Maya went on a hike. And someone already noted "early morning" does not mix with "brunch". He ends up saying "morning" twice, which is one of his slips or tells to repeat a word, so it means something. There is something in here he does not want us to know, so he is babbling, maybe recalling a prior sunrise balloon ride, brunch and wine-tasting? AND he is LYING because all of the indoor dining like brunch, and wine-tasting all over southern Califormia is CLOSED since March or April 2020, and he knows it - so No, Maya did not go to brunch or wine-tasting and He.Knows.It. because he lives there.
JMO he has driven up into any of the southern California rugged mountain areas and dumped Maya there to further his hike theory if her remains are ever found. He says Solana Beach (north and west)? Then Look for Maya east to the mountains. He says Temecula (north, in Riverside County)? Then Look for Maya east to the mountains. He is giving misdirections. (I keep thinking of Gardner's victim missing for over a year out there in the Pala hills.)
LM should listen to this video! They are nailing him. It's only a matter of time...

ETA: Another possible Freudian slip in this small part relates to a location Sunrise Highway, Mount Laguna, Cuyamaca State Park, scenic drive. Go east on I-8, exit Pine Valley. Sunrise Hwy, aka S1, connects to SR79. That's exactly the sort of mountainous area for a body dump.
I was planning on asking the panel whether or not locations mentioned in a deceptive statement are points of interest. Do deceptive people usually mention locations that are important to the investigation, or would they steer clear of it all together? I don't have the answer to that so I'm just speculating.
IME as a True Crime aficionado, there is truths mixed in on the lies deceptive people tell so I wouldn't write off the chance he would tell on himself that she is in one of those places, and as you say, Temecula stands out if he mentioned it more than the others (although this could be a deception tactic, making the wrong place stand out).I was planning on asking the panel whether or not locations mentioned in a deceptive statement are points of interest. I hope it's okay to bring up this case again because I've seen the similarities and they disturb me greatly. (Sullivan's husband did one of those "I can't eat can't sleep" all about himself interviews with few details of where she went. He actually put on more of a caring act and said some favorable things about her.) However, both were giving their wives SPACE. MOO, LM's interview provides some clues, or they could be false clues, as to where to look for Maya and he talks so much that it's possible to determine a timeline.I could never leave the house without my significant other without checking on them after being locked in a room for 11 hours... Great question! One for next time..

I agree.
I remember hearing a talk on L.E. lie spotting.
Detectives have the suspect recite their story in reverse order. Bam.
Ask unexpected questions post getting the initial “story”.
Or call them in for another (surprise)questioning.
I know he lawyered up ...but they did get to question him, watch his body language, his voice & facial expressions...recorded it.
And then there is that gift of his phone interview.
The fact that they’ve asked the family PI to stand down ...I think they’ve got this.
