PLACER COUNTY — The Placer County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a suspect in connection to the skeletal remains found by hikers on January 27.
The body was found near Lake Clementine along Foresthill Road between Upper and Lower Lake Clementine Roads. The bones were in an area of thick underbrush just a few hundred feet north of the road.

Citrus Heights resident, Michael Forest Abeyta, was arrested for murder Wednesday afternoon.
Human remains found Jan. 27 off Foresthill Road near Lake Clementine in Placer County have been identified as those of 23-year-old Trang Tran of Sacramento.
Trang, a Vietnamese national, was in the United States on a student visa, according to a Placer County Sheriff's Department news release. She was married to 28-year-old Michael Forest Abeyta, 28, of Citrus Heights, the man accused of killing her.
The Placer court website seems to be down for maintenance as I cannot even login with my attorney’s ID. I’ll try again later but here is a blurb from the court about his case with contact info for the actual prosecutor assigned to the case.As I said I used to live in Auburn. Tried to get into Placer County court site, but I'm blocked - EU rules....
Can some still following this case - see if they can find anything on this case?
TIA!
