Canada - Shooting spree in Moncton, NB, leaves 3 RCMP officers dead, 2 injured, June 2014 *Guilty*

Mr. Bourque is “one of the most respectable of my friends. Polite also. I'm sorry for the lack of mercy that people are displaying for him,” Mr. Stam wrote.

He added that Mr. Bourque “didn't put on a uniform every day and pretend to be above others. [harassing] the public as the pigs do downtown and on the roads.”

The comments, along with others accusing the police of killing innocent people, was part of a Facebook discussion started when Mr. Stam announced that he “just got fired for being friends with someone.”

I'm never clear about rules re: facebook here - so will just say that the subject of the most recent arrest can be easily located on that site, and it's horrifying to me to read what he is posting there.

If that is against the TOS, please delete my post, mods.
Yeh I find the Facebook and Twitter confusing too.

I read back to April on Stam's FB wall .. back then he seemed like a gluten-avoiding foodie and stoner who was posting mostly recipes, some right wing stuff, and even a "make tea not war" meme, etc. IMO, he seems to have turned into a drug-fueled radical dude over his friend Bourque's arrest (not to mention losing his job over that friendship). I don't see the death threats referred to between May 10 to 18, but his public tone sure changed as at June 6. Possibly some behind the scenes convos taking place behind FB curtain?

I think Jasper might end up with a nice snug jacket and a warm blankie for a while.

Unsung heroes:

Moncton shooting witnesses ignored own safety to help officer ...

The couple’s view across the street was clear: A camouflaged gunman, standing on the sidewalk under a tree shedding pink flowers, shot the RCMP officer “pretty well point blank.”

The man and his wife were horrified, but instead of staying locked in their home, they bolted toward the victim. The man called 911.

This woman knew them , and worked on like a hot line (support network) for mental illness
“We dealt with some suicides, and parents always told us they tried to get help but were always told, ‘unless he hurts someone, there’s not much we can do.’

Irene said that during her time working in a support network, helping families deal with tragedies, she met people “time and again” who couldn’t get the proper help for mental illness.
“If you could get the right help from the beginning, when the signs start and not later when it’s too late, these tragedies could be avoided.”

Mental illness still carries a huge stigma, she said, noting that people are quick to help people with cancer, or handicaps or other issues.

This procession is huge. I don't know when I've seen anything of this size?

Wow. :(

Salem

I've seen Brantford, St. John and Niagra squads. There are many more, those are just the ones I've been able read so far.

Now the choir is coming in.

Also Valle de Quebec.

So sad, so proud ... nerves of steel here can't stop crying.

Later folks
