Orange County sheriff's investigators say they are exploring several tips they've received surrounding the disappearance of 16-year-old Alexandria Chery.

Investigators won't divulge what those tips were, but they do say they are searching for her today on the ground and using high-tech tools. Deputies said they are doing a search in the Championsgate area related to the investigation.

Orange County deputies are searching for a missing person in Polk County, near the Osceola County line. It's not clear if the search is connected to missing Orlando teen Alexandria Chery, whom the Orange County Sheriff's Office has been looking for since Monday.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said deputies from Orange County were conducting the search in Davenport, near an apartment complex at Town Center Boulevard and Lake Wilson Road.

The search area is near the ChampionsGate and Reunion areas, south of Osceola-Polk Line Road.

sad story.....I agree they will be keeping a close eye on him when he is out.

Maybe from a tip? I hope they find something to solve this, preferably an alive Alexandria.

I noticed that SS owns a janitorial service. It bothers me that he would have done such a bad job cleaning up the scene, or did someone else do that? Things that make you go hmmmm.

Sanel Saint Simon is still in jail. So apparently he hasn't posted bond yet.
Search crews left but deputies still in the search area.
St Simon's cousin says he's innocent. Says Alexandria's mom and St Simon had a rocky relationship.
Chery's uncle says he cannot be trusted.
WFTV asked why evidence in Alexandria's room wasn't enough to charge him...more on that at 6 pm

If he is innocent, it is EXTREMELY unfortunate that he lied to detectives about where he was all day, and apparently can't provide proof of his whereabouts.

Sounds like they have tracked his or her phone to the Davenport area. That is my guess.

The uncle of the missing 16-year-old Orange County girl told Local 6 on Thursday the man arrested in connection with her disappearance has had trouble with the teen before...

"I never trusted him to begin with," said Joseph, who added that SaintSimon had touched Alexandria sexually about a year ago and no one ever reported it to authorities. Joseph said SaintSimon was allowed to stay in the house but wasn't supposed to ever be alone with Alexandria.

"I'm wishing she did take the proper precaution and take it to authorities, but now it's kind of too late," Joseph said. "Our niece is out there, her daughter is out there, and no where to be found."

I'm so sorry Alexandria. It seems NO ONE called authorities to protect you. I'm going to stop typing now or I'll be in a time out.
 
Family knew he sexually abused her and yet all they did was try not to have her alone with him. OMG, what is wrong with people. I am just sick thinking how these cases usually turn out.
