GUILTY FL - Chance Walsh, 7 wks, North Port, 7 Oct 2015 #3

Has anyone read when trial is expected for Joseph?

Case Management is scheduled on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 @ 10:00 AM. However, after today's plea agreement we may see this date change. As far as a trial, it will be scheduled after Case Management occurs.

Ugh. From Bury's mom's statement:

"Her first child was going to be taken away from her for abuse, so she had him adopted to a complete stranger for a car, apartment and money, despite our family wanting him."

Remember that quiz page where Bury talked about giving her child up for adoption?

https://www.quizopolis.com/survey-response.php?surveyid=4863&takerid=285613

Anyway, I'm glad she got 25 years. I agree that it's not enough but I've been reading member Rayemonde's updates on old cases and many of them lingered for years and finally petered out and awful parents walked scot free. So I'm grateful that there's at least some justice for baby Chance.

I hope that Walsh gets LWOP.

I had forgotten about the "adoption." I was confused and thought they were talking about baby Duane. Thanks for the reminder.

She is one sick lady. I hope baby 1 is safe and sound somewhere.

I bet time away from JW and a clear, non drugged head made all that sting. I hope it hurt. that poor baby.

It's a somber site. Very peaceful in an empty wooded area. Today Chance's mom was sentenced to 25yrs @FOX13News

Why wasn't it streamed? Does anyone know of any news outlets with video? I'm just curious to see her actual body language (not just what is mentioned in the article). She appears to have put on weight in the pictures. I'm assuming this is due to a new diet lacking in drugs. I wonder if she sees what she and J did. Or is she just so sociopathic it makes no difference? I'm so sad that Chance never got what he deserved in life. I'm happy he's away from them, tho.

Very frustrating that it wasn't streamed. There were obviously cameras in the courtroom...I keep hoping a news outlet will post the whole hearing.

Here is a short clip:

Like her own mother said, I hope she enjoys her new life. Witch.

25 years. I hope Chance's final moments haunt her dreams. I hope it's her first thought in the morning and her last at night. I bet this is tortorous living in the real world with no drugs in her system.

He was a baby, I'll bet most women on here, if not all, would lay their life down in order to protect a baby from a like him. Any baby, let alone their own. It's instinct isn't it? Chance is the reason I joined this forum, I've never been affected by a case like I am his.

25 years is nothing, my only solace is that 'it' will be too old to breed when it's released, and another poor baby will be spared being born to that.

Think long and and hard about your actions you despicable woman, whether you had a direct hand in that baby's death or not, YOU could have prevented it, but you didn't. YOU could have gotten him medical help, but you didn't. YOU were the one person that little boy should have been able to rely on. YOU were the one that was meant to provide him with everything he needed, which, at his age isn't much. A full tummy, clean clothes, a cuddle, the occasional change. But you didn't. You failed him. You failed your children. You failed as a mother. You even failed as a woman with an ounce of compassion. 25 years? When it comes down to it you're even selling out the 'love of your life' to catch a break. You're both as bad as each other. In fact, you're worse.

Im sorry for the rant, it had to come out somewhere. My heart goes out to Chances grandparents, it really does. I'm logging out for a few days, I can't cope with these babies being hurt xx

well said! I hate this woman :( I cant even imagine what went through that teeny baby's mind.

I strongly object to the plea arrangement for Kristen Bury. She bears as much, or more, responsibility for Chance's murder than the other monster, and deserves the full penalty of the law for her actions, or lack thereof.

Justice light leaves a bitter aftertaste. Baby Chance deserves nothing less than "the real thing".

Just my very personal opinion.

According to the document, Bury told Walsh, "You are going to break his (expletive) neck." However, police say the woman didn't call 911 or attempt to prevent Walsh from hurting the boy.

"Kristen Bury noted that Chance was turning blue when he was brought out of the bathroom," the arrest report states. "Attempts to remove the diaper wipe were done, and after extreme measures, the wipe was removed by Kristen. Kristen stated that when removing the diaper wipe from within Chance’s throat, trauma to Chance’s mouth occurred."

The arrest report states that Chance was then put to bed. When Bury tried to feed Chance formula hours later, she saw he was gasping for air.

Chance died a short time later, the arrest report states.

The arrest report states that Bury never called 911 or took any measures to prevent Walsh from abusing their son.

The next day, however, Kristen posted this to her page:

"My awesome husband is taking us on our very first family vacay. I have no idea what he has planned. (smiley face) super excited... I love surprises."

Then on Sept. 21, she posted a picture of Chance with the caption:
"Bright eyes and mommy just wants to sleep. So worth it though... My little thumb sucker."

Later that same day, she posted:
"No matter what life brings, good or bad, know that I will always love you with all of my heart, Joseph Walsh."

“By her actions she let my grandson Chance die a horrible death, choosing an abusive husband and drugs over the life of her own child,” said Susino.

I believe that sooner or later we'll all face real justice for all our wrongs, and whatever good we've done.

Sometimes "Justice" really isn't. This is one of those times. I'm sure the procecutors hated giving her that plea deal.

I can only hope she has to serve every single minute of her time. Hard.

I hope they keep her in prison long enough that she will no longer be able to have any more babies because she has been an epic fail as a mother/nurturer. Just because some women can have children doesn't necessarily make them good mothers as we see way too often with these types of cases. And as for the she was with i also hope he gets LWOP and is kept away from children for the rest of his miserable life.

Totally agree. She just stood by and did nothing.

And lest we forget - Bury told her stepmother (KM) that she "despised" Chance because he wasn't baby Duane and that she had given him away to a stranger. She said it was better that Chance wasn't around because she would have hurt him.

http://archive.wtsp.com/assetpool/documents/151007101343_15-68741 Walsh.pdf

And I don't buy that Bury only stood by while Walsh hurt Chance. Yeah, he was responsible but Bury saying that Chance's mouth was "traumatized" when she tried to retrieve the baby wipe makes me think she was more of an active participant than she says. Like others here I hope she stays in jail long enough to hit menopause - at least then no more babies will be harmed. :(
