We are having a candle light vigil for this little girl Cecilia "Cece" Harris.
Unfortunately I am sure most are familiar with her case.
Please come help celebrate her life and take a stand against child abuse

For those of you out they- light a candle where ever you are so Cece can see all the candles from Heaven-~just for her.

We as citizens of Dubuque need to be here for this little girl and her siblings. Please pass the word and hand out fliers.

I don't get it... how could all of those people witness what this woman was doing to CC and not ever try to stop her? How do you stand around and watch a baby attack food like they haven't eaten in days? How does a man hear a woman call his daughter "a little B*T(h?" and not want to kill her himself? How?....


My heart breaks for this little angel...

Maybe CC's story will make people pay a little more attention when they see a child being screamed at or all bruised up... Maybe....

A Dubuque group is honoring the memory of a young girl who died in their community.

Last month, test results confirmed the bones police found in a backyard fire pit were those of 20-month old Cecelia Harris.

Police charged the girl's mother Tamelia Harris with first degree murder.

This Saturday night, a group of moms will hold a candlelight vigil for Cecelia to honor her memory.

Also, Harris' murder trial is now scheduled for April 11, according to an online court calendar.

Harris is accused of killling Cecilia, then burning the body in the fire pit.

I thought I would post an update...the murder trial scheduled to start April 11, 2011 may not be happening. :(

A Motion for Change of Venue was filed on March 1, 2011 and on March 3, 2011 a Motion for Continuance was filed. I do not know if/when a new date has been set but will check on this.

I just heard on the news, a hearing for the change of venue will be held either today or Monday.
 
State gives her a deal and she isn't charged with murder. What's the world coming to????

On top of that she is eligible fro parole at some point in time. All I can say is I hope she is dies in prison before she is ever considered for parole. JMO

Dubuque Woman Accused Of Killing Daughter To Serve 78 Years In Prison


The defense stated that the plea eliminated a life in prison term and gives Harris the eligibility for parole.

The 6 charges Harris plead guilty to are :
1. Child endangerment resulting in death - 50 Years
2. Neglect of dependent minor - 10 Years
3. Desecration of a corpse - 5 Years
4. Possession of incendiary device -10 Years
5. Child endangerment - 2 Years
6. Providing false information to law enforcement - 1 Year

Tamelia Harris enters guilty plea

Tamelia Harris, 33, of Dubuque, accepted a deal Tuesday at the Delaware County Courthouse to plead guilty to six charges relating to the death of her 20-month-old daughter, Cecilia Harris, the most serious charge being child endangerment resulting in death. The sentences will run consecutively, for a maximum of 78 years in prison.

Mother Pleads Guilty In Daughter's Death

A Dubuque woman charged in the death of her young daughter has pleaded guilty to six charges, including child endangerment resulting in death and desecration of a corpse.

How disturbing....another sweet baby killed and the perp is given a deal?? OMG...

They don't even know if precious Cecilia was alive when put in the fire pit...do they?? Makes me sick and sad and MAD!

Some of the mothers friends reported a "horrible smell" coming from the basement when they went to visit. This was after Cecilia had not been seen for some time and before the mother obtained a fire pit from a friend. I'm pretty sure Cecilia was already dead before her mother placed her in the fire pit. You can read more in the criminal complaint filed against her.
