This is all speculation by me:
I think new evidence was found that caused LE to reexamine RL's alibi. Maybe the alibi seemed solid at first but once they had this new evidence and checked the alibi deeper it was not so solid.

Like maybe looking for the fish he purchased?

I'm definitely not saying RL is guilty but come on - you can't tell a killer by the way he looks or talks. A perfect example is Ted Bundy.

One correction or addition is that the girls were to be picked up between 3 and 3:30 p.m. Family searched until 5:30 when they notified police.

I did look at that link. Nothing is in the written part about a truck being taken in. Listened to the entire 2:38 minute video with Alexis on that link. No mention of the truck being taken in.

Guess I'll have to go to every single MSM report that deals with this new search warrant to find the the "truck hauling" information.

When I clicked on the link in your quote, there was a photo slideshow you could click through. One of the images was a white pickup truck on the back of a flatbed. HTH

There is no way in my mind that RL is BG.

Yeah, I agree it's quite a stretch, even if you only consider his age. Still, something's going on for sure. IMO we won't get much more info tonight. If RL is directly connected there's no reason for LE to act on anything until his probation violation hearing since he's safely in jail for the time being. However, if they make other arrests I think we'll hear right away.

Sure are a lot of posters here so sure RL is not the perp based on two poor quality video stills. LE sure does not seem to share your opinion, based on their statements about the search today being about trying to rule him out or make him a higher suspect.

Also, I would not make too much of LE saying so and so is not a suspect. There is no requirement to name someone a suspect before making an arrest. I have a feeling this one goes straight to arrest, whomever it ends up being.

So I just wrote a wonderful post where I waxed eloquent, surveyed my elevated opinion, sure to win hearts and convince minds, hit enter, and ugh! thread closed, the best. post, ever. gone..............

So, I will try again and keep it short and to the point:

I watched the Inside Edition report and I am sorry but I just do not see RL as anything but bewildered, in every interview I have seen him in. He would have to be lying all over the place, with all those interviews he gave. And, he didn't even hesitate to repeat those now famous words, didn't collect himself, didn't blink, just repeated. No response like "hey, what are you getting at!"

At first I thought he was covering up but now I just don't see it. I think he may have been played by someone, perhaps someone who is close to him, I don't know.

Hahaha! Sorry we'll never get to read that post. Happens to the best of us.
But what I wanted to mention was that there was an incident where RL reported someone trespassing on his property (a barn IIRC) a few years ago. A senior citizen with a lot of acreage (he has 40, I think) isn't as likely to be working the land as he did when younger and transients or burglars can slip into the picture there. Maybe an old or abandoned vehicle is the place where the girls were taken at first... Just spinning my wheels... MOO

I wonder if that quote alone would prompt LE to search his house? I heard it and figured he misspoke. Honestly, he isn't the best communicator, but considering the stress of all that is happening, I probably wouldn't be able to form a complete sentence. But, maybe some FBI statement analysis type investigator alerted to his reference to his "house".

Were the fish for him? He doesn't strike me as a salt water aquarium guy. Maybe they were a gift, so he took them to a friend/family/church member? If so, then that person would know he was going to be gone...and possibly others in their home or social circle would have known the property would be vacant. IMO.

Yes, like looking for fish or fiber evidence test results came in or DNA results or maybe they got to that one tip they needed and it pointed to RL's property...more specifically one of the buildings on that property.

They are accusing a very close relative on FB of being BG too now with no basis to do so.

If RL was in Lafayette, Indiana buying tropical fish surely the staff could verify this or they may have CCTV. I have fish when you buy them at the aquarium shop you have to go straight home they can't sit in the plastic bags for hours so that narrows the time he would have to be home.

There's only one place in Lafayette that sells saltwater fish that I know of. It's a really cool place. 26 minutes/21 miles from RL's home.
