Sent the clay recon & news article to Amy Dobbs. Let her know about the differences between the article & NamUs profile.

The age listed on the article is different then in NamUs; says 20-40.
Clothing - NamUs says - Yellow tank top and socks
Article says green top; green socks

Tattoo's - NamUs Tattoo of "MOM" on upper right arm, tattoo of "LOVE" on right breast, tattoo of cross with two hearts on right breast and cross tattoo on right hand
Article - tattoo that said “Mom” barely showing on her right arm

Amy never replied so I'm resending it with a JPG of the isotopes.

Yeah the picture is beyond weird. I'm guessing it was done when they exhumed the body? Just thought someone, someday might find it useful.

I'm not sure, but looking at the full recon next to the partial in NamUs, I wonder if it was damaged, broke apart because it looks similar to the full recon.

did they find her lower jaw? sometimes they may remove that part in case their recon was inaccurate.

OK no one get mad at me but the tats described were very typical "biker babe" "bar girl" style tats for that era & before that. (In the current tat culture, those are extremely "quaint"....Like, Grandma has a tat like that, how cute.)

If she was found in a truly remote area that seems to point at her being a hitchhiker or working girl (or both.) & BTW during that era in the Southwestern US there were a few hot spots of illicit activity- Phoenix AZ was having a population increase, Las Vegas, & I might be wrong but weren't parts of New Mexico developing oil patches? I'd have to research. My impression of this victim is her transient/travelling lifestyle somehow caused her to end up in a totally different region than where she grew up. (This assumption is from her not being IDed by any locals in that area.)

The NamUs program has released an updated digital reconstruction of an unidentified woman who was found dead in Lebanon back in 1992.

A farmer found the woman's body at the bottom of a hill near the northbound ramp to I-65 from State Road 47 on May 3, 1992. She was estimated to be between 17 and 22 years old at the time of her death.

The unidentified woman was estimated to be around 5 feet 6 inches tall with short reddish brown hair. She had a tattoo of "MOM" on her upper right arm, a tattoo of "LOVE" and another with two hearts on her right breast and a tattoo of a cross on her right hand. She was wearing a yellow tank top and socks when her body was found.

Boone County Indiana Sheriff's Office

December 14, 2018 - Media Release

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office continues to remain vigilant in our efforts to identify the remains of a female located off an interstate entrance ramp over 25 years ago.

Recently the Sheriff’s Office, along with the Boone County Coroner’s Office, reached out to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) to see what new techniques are available. NamUs is a national information clearinghouse and resource center for missing, unidentified, and unclaimed person cases across the United States. Funded and administered by the National Institute of Justice and managed through a cooperative agreement with the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas, all NamUs resources are provided at no cost to law enforcement, medical examiners, coroners, allied forensic professionals, and family members of missing persons. In speaking with NamUs representatives, they suggested utilizing a forensic artist to complete an updated headshot using DNA characteristics and bone data that had been recovered. The use of Forensic artists, who are highly-trained specialists that are experts in the reconstruction of crime scenes, bone structure, and witness descriptions of criminals, has been used historically in major cases over the years in law enforcement. With recent advances in technology and DNA analysis, many law enforcement agencies continue to use these advantages to solve crimes.

Boone County investigators hope that somebody will someday recognize our “Jane Doe” and we can give this young lady a proper burial and also a parent or relative a piece of mind. Our office continues to field emails and phone calls on a monthly basis from people across the country asking for comparisons to their missing persons cases. Investigators also work closely with State and Federal partners in questioning suspects and career criminals (inmates) that come forth with information. Their goal continues to utilize all resources available and reach out to as many areas of the country as possible.

Sheriff Nielsen stated “This case has haunted this office for over two decades. We desperately want to solve this horrible crime. We will continue to do everything in our power to bring resolve to this case, we owe it to Jane Doe and her family. We will never forget Jane Doe. I want to specifically thank the University of Indianapolis and Dr. Krista Latham for forensically analyzing all of Jane Doe in the recent years. I also want to thank our Investigations division, our CSI division and the Coroner’s office for their dedicated work in continuing to try and solve this crime.”

The states where this woman might have been born, according to the crimewatch daily video from approx. 3 years ago.

"It was also determined that in the final weeks of Jane Does's live she was in parts of western en and south-western Indiana before her body was discovered in central Indiana"

Well..... this doesn't look exactly what I imagined being from the "South-West".

CHARLEY PROJECT

The profile doesn't mention tatoos and she's short...Unsure if she's a native of KY...

In the direction the body was found, if she was dumped, the suspect may have been headed to Chicago or the Michigan City area...I kind of think she was in Indy and they took her past the hospital you would have to pass and businesses and took her to a secluded area...I've gone through or near this area twice by accident (missed my exits)...

Is it possible she was a traveling carnival worker...They have several carnival companies based in AZ and CA....The workers are transient...

I see that this years Indy's State Fair is being held in August...Was she in the area for a Indy 500 car event, Circle City Classic or other event...

Another angle....There are multiple sex offenders in the surrounding area, the suspect could be incarcerated in IN or from another state....

The possibilities are endless...She was wearing a tank top so I'm thinking it occurred during the summer...

Any new leads since the new December sketch?

VanLandingham is not an uncommon name here in Boone Co (where this UID was found)

Do we know if there have been any new leads since the updated sketch released in December?
