@Dotta , Re. your link (thanks !) : Doesn't this just mean that Israel provided some assistance/support when the pulled out of Gaza -- meant for the residents and infrastructure ?
And that they didn't mean to create Hamas as it now identifies , today ?
Omo.
I wonder why the settlers did /do not settle down in Gaza?

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

Day after day, the bodies of the victims of the Hamas terror attack arrive at the National Center of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv.
@CordeliaSkyNews speaks to the scientists trying to identify them. Warning: This report contains graphic images and descriptions of injuries.

Yes, any article that starts with "this isn't a conspiracy theory" ... an "OPED"???!!

The Intercept ...

Anyway, back onto the actual topic of this thread which is the terrorist attacks upon Israel 7 October 2023 and the war that's come in the aftermath ...

Vice Israeli politics that some seem to be turning this into.

The Pentagon has refused to say how much military weaponry, equipment and other aid it has provided Israel since the Oct. 7 attack.

Some security analysts said the potential weapons transfer could undercut those efforts toward a pause in the military assault.

As Gaza death toll soars, secrecy shrouds Israel’s targeting process

He says he hopes it is clear to the US that it should support such an IDF action, even if it results in thousands of civilian deaths.

In an interview with Channel 12, Eiland stresses appreciation for American support of Israel in its campaign to destroy Hamas in Gaza, but asserts that the US is “having trouble appreciating that Gaza is not Mosul and not like the areas where Islamic State was fought… It is the most fortified place in the history of humanity, with the best of Iranian technology, and billions invested.

The Americans also speak of Gaza “as though there is Hamas, bad people, and civilians in Gaza, who are innocent and need to be saved,” Eiland says. “That is not the reality in Gaza. Gaza to a very great extent is a Nazi state, in which they have managed to recruit the entire civil society in support of the struggle against Israel. Every other home in Gaza has an entrance down to the tunnels below. These are private homes. All the hospital and school administrators are Hamas workers. There is a great effort by all Gazans against Israel,” he says. “They are united around their leadership, not opposed to the leadership.”

The head of the IDF Southern Command, Maj. Gen. Yaron Finkelman, entered the Gaza Strip today with ground forces to carry out an assessment, the military says. The assessment, with the head of the Combat Engineering Corps, Brig. Gen. Ido Mizrahi, dealt with the issue of Hamas tunnels.

Better? ;)

Oh my - let's have some actual factual context shall we:

He did not support Hamas at the expense of Abbas etc nor did/does he "support" them.

They WERE (and ARE) the government that those innocent Palestinians elected. That's who he got to deal with. As would any other Israeli leader in the meantime since 2006.

Yep, everyone bears the respercussions today of them (Hamas) being elected in Palestinian Gaza.

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has approved additional military plans for the IDF's ground operation in the Gaza Strip, his office says.In a video statement, Gallant says: "The IDF's activity in the last day is very impressive. The combination between the Air Force and ground forces shakes the Gaza Strip. Yahya Sinwar hides in his bunker and lets the field commanders die. With us, the commanders go at the front of the force, lead, and obtain achievements."

Half of the current Palestinian population were too young or not even born when Hamas was elected. So, nope not everyone bears the repercussions.

And Hamas' goal of destroying Israel wasn't the reason why they were elected. It was desperation. From this source

"However, new polling following the election indicated that two-thirds of Palestinians believed Hamas should change its policy of rejecting Israel's right to exist. Most also supported a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Post-election polls indicated that Hamas' victory was due largely to Palestinians' desire to end corruption in government rather than support for the organization's political platform"

Its so hard to believe this after watching many videos of celebrations on the streets of Gaza all while dragging Israelis bodies, spitting on them, urinating on them and beating them with sticks. People celebrating on social media. Holding screening parties to celebrate the massacre. Its getting very hard.
