Southfield police: Woman seen at hotel appears safe

Mike Martindale, The Detroit News 12:10 p.m. ET Jan. 25, 2017

Southfield — Police said Wednesday a mystery woman whose welfare was a concern has been located and was apparently never in danger.

Southfield Deputy Chief Nick Loussia said police released a photo of the woman after she was seen escorted out of a Southfield hotel earlier this month by two men, raising concerns about her safety...

One of our attentive and thoughtful 'sleuthers contacted Southfield PD thinking that the woman in the surveillance video might be Danielle Stislicki. The young woman who appeared to be involved in an altercation at a Southfield hotel has been identified (not DS) and was never in danger.

I'm also a mother and as you stated, there's no telling what one would do in this situation. Other than not finding her, a big fear could be her story getting pushed to the back burner. With all of the speculation on the internet, I'm curious to know what the local conversations are surrounding her disappearance. I think the family has been very diplomatic in their responses on SM, deleting posts that could jeopardize the investigation and/or confirm the SG's involvement. They've shown a level of tactfulness that I'm quite certain I do not possess.

I honestly think all of the speculation and interest online is helping by making it known to the perp(s) that the pressure is not letting up anytime soon. DS's family isn't making any implications. But IMO, if they truly felt an innocent party was being falsely accused, they could easily make a statement through the FDS page. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen one.

:goodpost: Everything I have wanted to say, in the tactful way I couldn't find :)

Great post! Im not sure I could bite my tongue and not name and shame in the most public ways. Massive kudos to danielles family and friends, they have been amazingly dignified.

I agree with you -- if they felt that there was a great unfairness in all the attention directed at the SG, I believe they would have said so. Their silence on the matter speaks volumes.

I'm sure Mr. Stislicki would like 5 minutes alone with the SG ;)

50 some years ago I used to live in the area of 9/10 mile road and Lahser. Whenever I look at the maps in that area. I remember as a teenager going into the woods on an adventure with a girlfriend. We got lost and couldn't find our way out until we ended up near Evergreen road nearly a mile away from my home. Reading about the Kingswood Place Condominiums shooting brought back this memory as it was so close to where we came out of the woods on nine mile. Everything has built up considerably since I left there, that the only thing that is familiar now is the woods and the farmers market that we walked to for treats we could buy. Unfortunately Danielle's disappearance has brought me back to my old neighborhood with sadness. I was also a Redford High School student for a couple of years before moving to Southfield and knew Redford well.Went to the famous movie house there, (can't remember the name of it now.) But all these memories now connected to Danielle makes me very sad and glued to this forum hoping for some news of her that will be positive.

The stislicki family and friends have shown tremendous strength during this process.
It's often easier to lead a witch hunt then it is to have patience in our systems process. This family has taken the high road. This family has shown an incredible amount of patience and strength. I hope that they get the answers they deserve so they can have closure.
Yesterday I received an alert on my phone, I was in a meeting so couldn't open it but read the subject line quickly. It said"28 yr old missing woman found" I leapt from my chair, hoping it was DS. I quickly opened the email and found out it was a missing girl who had some car trouble. While I was happy that she was found safe,I was also saddened that it wasn't an email about DS. This family is in my thoughts and prayers,I can't fathom the pain they must be feeling.

It's called Redford Theatre, and it's still there. Was closed for many years but opened again after major restoration. The movie theatre hosts special events and draws folks near and far.

Well said.

It's amazing isn't it, how a stranger can enter your heart and become so important to you. That's what makes being a WS junkie so difficult. It's almost a constant state of grief and anxiety. It's hard for outside people to get that....(read that as my husband lol)

Yes, Back then, I used to get a ride on a local bus that took me to the high school and drop me off in front of the movie theater on my way home.

Yes exactly! I'm new here and grateful to have found this site because at least I know that there's others just like me. I can't help but to feel for these victims and their families and can't help but to seek the truth in these types of situations.

Wait until you experience watching your first case go to trial. Sitting in here Day after day with your co-sleuthers agonizing and ripping apart testimony.

I was participating in another forum during Casey Anthony and will never forget the anguish I felt! Lol although I do have to say that this board seems to keep things more professional and fact based so I am eager to see how that will play out ...
Let's keep our fingers crossed that I'll find out when whomever is responsible for Danis disappearance is brought to justice!

The preliminary trials they had for Chelsea Bruck in the fall, I was glued to my computer watching it live. I'm going to have to clear my schedule for May I think the real trial begins. So much information starts to come out and since I followed that one the whole time, I know it is going to consume my time/day/life once again. Just like I will continue to follow whatever comes of it!

Ugh that's the one case that changed me. Forever. I've never felt the same for a victim or case since. I don't know why...I think because I had a baby girl that was the same age and looked incredibly similar to caylee and I was gutted, absolutely gutted.

This site is wonderful, it's why we all get all out of sorts when an invasion of non-TOS respecting people swoop in and change the culture of a thread instantly and get them closed etc. this site is all about respect....for the victims and the members.

Ugh..sounds draining. Although, the last time I did that I was just a guest, at least I can communicate with you all feeling the same. :(

I know, the days melt into each other during trials...I lost my fall to ross Harris lol. Then you have to grieve when it's over regardless of whether you're happy with the verdict because they are life consuming and then they are over. Just like that....total cold turkey lol

Living in Oakland County, I will consider attending trial if or when there's an arrest and charges filed in this case.

I've only been to one trial and that was when Andrew Trombly was convicted of Deanna Seiford's murder. I think he was only 23 at the time.
