I never heard the son interviewed, but do believe this is Mrs Channing {her name has been in MSM} who lives on Anchor across the street and a bit south from the Dr who moved out of the area and believe has his lovely house for sale {if not sold}. Sherre spoke of this lady where Shannan knocked on her door after leaving Gus' home and finally we learned who she was.

I always thought this info about Mrs Channing was a bit of a blockbuster as it puts Shannan heading down Anchor towards the gate house - right? And that leads to the home of PH which is right outside the gated community.

As Sherre said in her interview with 'Here Women Talk', SS to ' . . . and that is when someone took her' - after running away from Mrs C's home.

And I also assume someone was driving down or up Anchor when they pulled her into his car with much objection from Shannan. IMO

It also could have been the driver Pak, as we learned he took off driving to find her. Maybe he lied about waiting till 6 for her to show up before he left the area. I know folks don't think he is her killer.


ETA: The main reason I think the discovery of where she was last seen is so important is that in COLD CASES LE always goes back to the scene of the crime, which here would be where she was last seen and then shortly thereafter taken into someone's car.

I think something about that location will bring about a clue that leads to her killer, SK or not. IMO

Actually scandi, I think PH's house is within the gated community. Which leads me to something else I don't think we've addressed ... if Pak was alone in the SUV, who would have let him back out the gate? If JB was in the SUV with him, that might explain it. Also, wouldn't GC have been in the best location to see whoever was going out the gate that morning? I doubt that the gated community is a real beehive of activity at that time of day, but it does seem we have a few early risers in the area.
 
One of our posters asked earlier how MB's sister knew the caller was "white". Could be just my warped thinking, but IMO, the caller's reference to "half-breed" smacks moreso of a white racist than other nationalities. I really don't know why I think that.

As I waded into the seedy world of sex ads and reviews, it really hit me how dangerous being a prostitute is. Allowing a complete stranger, probably not the cream of the crop, into their apartments for sex, where each dehumanizes the other, it seemed to me would almost inevitably lead to meeting a weirdo, a violent episode, if not being murdered. I definitely think prostitution should be legalized so the women who chose to be a sex worker can have some protection, the johns too.

The vid you linked also has a part where the reporter is standing on the street with the gate behind him as a van drives through. So far, it is the only footage I can remember of the gate.

I saved a bunch of captures and put it all into a collage.

I have taken a break for a week to get my mind back on straight, so I'm back now with a clear head. lool
So I was thinking, now that Craigslist personal adds are no longer there, and the SK's dump sites have been found, what is his next move? He has been forced to change his MO in a big way. So lets brainstorm some on possible ways he can find future victims. Are there any other sex sites (locally or nationwide) he can use? Newspaper classifieds adds? Will he move on to street girls or strippers? Or will he do the scary thing and start stalking random victims?
I don't see him killing for a while due to him having to change his plans so drastically. This should give LE some time to look for future haunts where he could strike. Opinions?

ETA- But then again it has almost been a year. And it is the vacation months, sorta fits a time line right now. I hope he is a long break!!!
 
I am always studying other serial killers cases to better understand them. (I AM a nice girl but I have a disturbing hobby. Heaven forbid any computer forensics ever be done on my 'puter,:D)

Anyway, I found this AWESOME post by fellow sleuth, AKWILKS, in the Tylenol murders thread. AKW performed fantastic research connecting Unabomber Ted Kaczynski to the Tylenol murders and sent info to the FBI 2 years ago. It is a very compelling argument. FBI is now seeking TK's DNA in the Tylenol Murders.

It is post #21 and is a long post but well worth reading. The info which interested me the most is farther down in the post and concerns MO vs. signature. I thought that it may help us in forming thoughts of MO vs signature in this case.

Also, if you advance further down the page, maps are provided which show the T murders in the Chicago area show that TK's family home was in the epicenter of the stores where the tainted Tylenol was sold. I thought MountainKat and other mappers would enjoy this part and maybe gain additional perspective. I am always amazed at our mapper sleuths works!

Also, AKW presents an argument that TK and the ZODIAC killer could be one and the same and TK was in the N. Cali area during the Zodiac murders. There are also comparison pics of TK and Zociac. I found it a very thought provoking submission which could help us in our sleuthing/profiling. It occured to me that this LI guy HAS left a trail of clues that we just don't understand...yet. AND these types DO move around...it's a prerequisent of 'the job' in order to remain anonymous.

(BBM) - Welcome back Nugzter, and WM!!! Regarding the CL personal ads, they have just changed to Backpage, haven't they? I think they are as active as ever, just not officially called "CL" anymore. Therefore, I think the SK can continue with his pursuit of sex workers on-line. I wish there was a better way to monitor for these women when they are originally reported missing. The sad thing is, we might already have missing women who have just not been reported yet, or perhaps LE knows that they are missing but due to the transient nature of some of the girl's lives, they may just be sitting on the information. Frustrating....

Thanks Reannan....I've not heard of Backpage. If that is the case then he will most likely be active and looking for new places to dispose of victims. Yes Very frustrating..... Are there any missing persons pages from the area? Maybe sluething some recent missing persons in advance of a body find could prove useful. Thx

I definitely think he is doing this. Does anyone know if police ever use the cameras that hunters use? I think they call them trail cameras. They detect movement and only take photos when a large size animal is in the area. It would make a lot of sense to throw a bunch of these up in some of the areas Seaslug came up with. Might even make sense to throw a few around Hemlock cove.

They should probably always have a few installed up around Manorville.
 
Hi all, I haven't posted in a while for a variety of reasons but I wanted to share an article in the New Yorker for June 6. I havent posted a link as I read the hard copy but I think it will be easily searchable. It is a fascinating and fantastic article that is well written and very helpful to all those here. Essentially the reporter sat down with all te various family members of the victims and each person shared memories and thoughts and even theories. Alot of very useful and helpful info that I haven't read before. Even info about the taunting phone calls and a few of the theories they presented I strongly agree with. They are also planning another vigil on June 11. Anyway please check out the article. Anyone interested in the case will find it very helpful

Updated Potential Dump Site Map

I added some locations to the map where the SK could potentially dump more bodies with little fear of getting caught. Also, on Saturday I attended my daughter's horse show that was held at the Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank. It occurred to me that there are train tracks that cut through that wooded area and head through the thicket in Manorville (Next town over). Those tracks are as perfect for a SK to dump a body as Ocean Parkway was.

Also, someone had mentioned that they think the SK will try to send a message to Suffolk County PD that he can kill and dump bodies at will without their knowledge. While at the farm in Yaphank (exit 67 on the LIE) I realized that just on the other side of those secluded train tracks is POLICE HEADQUARTERS (located at 30 Yaphank Avenue, Yaphank).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't dumping a body on the train tracks adjacent to police headquarters be the ultimate slap in the face?

Regardless, I am starting to see a cluster pattern on my potential dump site map that puts Police Headquarters practically at the epicenter.
 
It has never been clarified about the possibility the SK is storing bodies someplace and then dumping them in various stages of decomposition. If this is the case, say he has a storage freezer facility of some kind, he could still be collecting bodies and not dumping them now.

I totally agree. This is why I'm convinced that person/people responsible have access to a walkin freezer. Take a look at this walkin freezer vendor's website to get an idea on what types of businesses would have one;

My gut feeling is that there is a connection to a bait & tackle store or supplier. My next gut feeling is a connection to a party boat or charter boat business (but as you can see on the website, it could be a connection to a grocery store, butcher, bakery, deli, or a larger warehouse establishment.
 
It also seems LE has made very little effort to encourage working girls to come forward with information helpful to the case so that many would still be reluctant to report someone they suspect is missing. I have not read anywhere that the petition being circulated for amnesty to prostitutes has produced any results. I think we deserve some proof that they are giving this the same attention that was given the Green River Killer. Where is the task force? Where are the results of DNA testing. Why aren't they treating the child like other unidentified children are treated?

I signed that petition and have been looking back at that site to see if there's been any updates. Sadly, I haven't seen any updates or read about any progress being made in getting the police to encourage sex workers to come forward. LE needs to strongly consider doing more to get these women to come forward IMO.
