GUILTY NY - Orsolya Gaal, 51, body found in duffel bag, Queens, Apr 2022 *Arrest* #3

One thing I have wondered about...and I hope I don't get flamed because this is a question I have...is how hard is it to have a business if you are here illegally. You can't register your business name, be incorporated, have a tax payer ID, or be bonded. If you are doing lawn work...no big deal...but if you are doing remodeling/home repairs, then a bigger deal because if he causes damages to someone's home that would be a big deal. Actually, the mistake would be on the homeowner. An individual handyman likely couldn't cover the costs. I know I won't hire someone who was not bonded and didn't have a tax payer id. Makes me think the things if did were pretty small.

Today's post-court appearance update:

Prosecutors say that Gaal let her ex-handyman lover into her Forest Hills home around 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, after a night out with her friends.

So it doesn't look like he entered with a spare key and was indeed let in, voluntarily.

Murder suspect David Bonola appeared to share YouTube videos on NYC crime and seduction tips

4/25/22

The illegal immigrant charged with murdering married Queens mom Orsolya Gaal after their two-year, on-off affair appeared to run a YouTube channel obsessed with Big Apple crime — as well as tricks on how to seduce women.

The channel under “David Bonola,” the name of the handyman who allegedly confessed Thursday to Gaal’s brutal stabbing, has shared thousands of videos on curated playlists, including 754 to local news reports of violent crimes.

They included shootings, rapes and murders — as well as high-profile stabbings similar to the one that Bonola, 44, allegedly committed in the early hours of April 16 after confronting Gaal, 51, at her stately Forest Hills home about the end of their affair.

Shared clips include the brutal stabbing death of 18-year-old Barnard College student Tessa Majors during a botched 2019 robbery in Harlem, as well as the fatal stabbing of a good Samaritan who was trying to break up a knife fight outside a Brooklyn gambling den.

[..]

After his arrest, it emerged he had an apparent history of creeping out women in Queens with his unwanted come-ons.

Officials also told The Post that the Mexican national was here illegally, having entered the US from Mexico about 21 years ago.

Bonola was in the court for less than a minute for his lawyer to announce that he would not testify in front of a grand jury investigating the murder case.

Bonola's was arraigned in the case last week.

I wonder if his previous crimes were committed in his native country.

If indeed in the USA - how come his illegal status was not discovered earlier?
they dont notify ICE for misdemeanors. they just cite them out. idk if his previous sealed arrest was a misd but that could explain why ICE was not involved.

and no, we wouldnt have his criminal record from MX or central america.

possibly but he looks strong built and she was petite.
Men are usually stronger than women (in the strength department. ;)), even if they are smaller/shorter than the woman. They are just made that way.

In terms of absolute strength – that is, without regard for body size, weight or composition – the average man tends to be considerably stronger than the average woman. Specifically, the absolute total- body strength of women has been reported as being roughly 67% that of men.

Further, the gender differences in absolute strength vary according to the areas of the body that are being compared. As an example, a review of nine studies by Laubach (1976) revealed that, in comparison to men, the absolute lower-body and upper-body strength of women is about 57 - 86% (averaging 71.9%) and 35 - 79% (averaging 55.8%), respectively. So in absolute terms, men are much stronger than women.

I didn't get the impression that DB was doing any major upgrades or repairs to OG's home. So far, there has been nothing found or revealed to indicate he had a business (website, business registration/filing, testimonials, etc.). I get the impression that he was hired to do odd jobs around the house (fix an AC filter issue, help a leaking sink, patch a crack in a wall, etc.). He had how-to videos saved on his YouTube about things like how to tile, installing a telephone socket, plumbing drain problems, etc.

This is why it's so interesting to me how he came about to work for their household. People like that always come via reference or interpersonal relationships (like hiring an off-books housekeeper, etc.). Likely, the people who did hire or recommend him wouldn't exactly be willing to volunteer that information now, but I am sure they are out there.
Perhaps he was handyman when family lived in previous house and then recently (past 2 years) was hired by victim for handyman job in Juno house? The victim seemed to already have a handyman, so seems to me like DB was not the current handyman.

I wonder if they started in the kitchen. He may have grabbed the knife then, cut her on the arm and she ran into the living room behind a table and chairs right up against the main window. I say this because supposedly there was blood on the 1st floor. Later, a video of police searching the inside of the house looked as though they were searching right in front of the main window. Photos of parts of the house (taken at Christmas time) show there were 2 chairs and a table right in front of the big picture window. This is all speculation on my part but I see this as being very pausible.
A cut on the arm? Why not scream for help at that point? Warn other house member?

I wonder if this house had a finished basement…used as family room…perhaps even with a bar or small kitchen that might be equipped with kitchen knives. Thats what i imagine when i read that thry were ‘in the basement.’
There was an article (sorry, I cannot find) that mentioned that basement at some point was used as children's playroom, so my guess is the basement was a finished area of house.

Google is my best friend. :D Here's one such article even though I'm not fond of Fox for my news.

He said Klein, 53, worked from an office in the home and the house has separate door that leads either down to the basement or up to the kitchen. The basement consists of a laundry room and what was the kid’s playroom.

Slain NYC mom Orsolya Gaal's home had separate basement entrance, family electrician says

It seems to be assumed that DB was a handyman first, then a lover.

He may have been a lover first, and then a handyman.

They both lived in the same area and may have frequented some of the same places.
At the police press conference they stated that he and OG had an on/off relationship for two years and that he worked as a handyman for the family for about two years. I find it less likely that they were lovers first. This happened during the first wave of the pandemic when people weren't going out as much.

A handyman accused of having an affair with a married Queens mom Orsolya Gaal and stabbing her to death in her home will not testify before the grand jury considering charges against him, his lawyer said Tuesday.

David Bonola is charged with murder in the grisly stabbing death of Gaal, 51, whose body was dragged from her Forest Hills home in her son’s hockey bag and left on the side of a road.
