I believe everyone had shots in the face or temple. That means the shooter was looking the victim straight in the face while shooting them. To me, that is even more demented than shooting them asleep. We now know most were not asleep when shot.

I was responding to Gary being shot twice in the head, but from back to front. I agree that everyone being asleep would have been preferable, next to them not carrying this out at all.

Since the coroner saifd the arm and both torso shots were not likely instant kill shots, then one of those had to have come.from outside. He probably staggered over near the chair where the cowards shot him up. Why 9 shots? I want that question answered

Possibly the bad blood between R's and W's as far as HG signing over her daughter? I'm surmising that CRSR thought that was all water under the bridge since HR had moved to a new and nicer place? If that bad blood was still raging I don't think he'd of told BW to come over that night?

Your right, if Billy got that black eye during the fight between him and CRs it would have already healed up because the fight was 17 days before GRs funeral, JMO

They have blood evidence outside FR's home.

Witness testimony in court today is covering evidence found at murder scene #2 where Frankie Rhoden and Hannah Hazel Gilley were murdered in their trailer.

PIKE COUNTY TRIAL: Testimony today will move to "Scene 2" where Frankie Rhoden and Hannah Hazel Gilley died.

Defense notes ongoing objection to projecting graphic images- argues the nature of the deaths is not in question.

PIKE COUNTY TRIAL: BCI agent Todd Fortner will return to the stand - he was on briefly Tuesday afternoon, showing some photos he took of Frankie Rhoden's property.

BCI special agent Todd Fortner back on the stand reviewing the photos he took of "Scene 2" - Frankie Rhoden and Hannah Hazel Gilley's property.

He found a sweatshirt in the driveway and collected it as possible evidence - giving it an item number.



Fortner now shows photos of several vehicles around the trailer - a black truck, red truck, and blue car.



Fortner shows the jury a couple area where he found cigarette butts, which he collected.

These went to BCI lab - one had unknown female DNA, one had male DNA with Frankie Rhoden not excluded, one had unknown male DNA.



Fortner says he found a blood stain on the wooden table in the front yard.

This is where the family changed baby Ruger's diaper after he was found between the bodies.

Fortner says he found a small blood stain on the front door, then swabbed it for touch DNA and fingerprinted the door.



Prosecutor Andy Wilson says the swabs from the blood stains on the door came back inconclusive of blood and on DNA for comparison.

No signs of damage for forced entry on front door to Frankie and Hannah Hazel's trailer.

Bobby Jo Manley said the toddler Brentley unhooked the chain to let her in.

DNA swabs from the door came back from lab as insufficient for comparison of DNA.



Fortner says inside Frankie and Hannah's trailer, the only light on was a nightlight and light over the oven. The TV was on children's programming. He says it was difficult to see - and it was cluttered inside.

Shows back door lock - not damaged - Fortner says the dead bolt was not locked



Fortner says he checked kitchen floor for potential shoe prints, using fingerprint powder. Also use oblique lighting.

Observed nothing of note there.

Using fingerprint powder, here's what Fortner found on the kitchen floor in Frankie's trailer.

Shoe prints appear to be a key to this case - we've heard about Walmart shoe purchase and allegations the Wagner boys wore the wrong sizes to throw off investigators

I'm guessing they wanted to make sure he was dead. I know it's overkill (and I'm not trying to be insensitive, just a horrible thought I had) but maybe he was making noises or as he was taking his last breathes, it scared them that he was still alive so Jake or Billy just kept firing?

Fortner said that by inserting the trajectory rods into a single hole, it was difficult to be 100% precise.

My take: If you had two or more holes made by one bullet but some distance apart, those holes together would provide a more precise alignment of the trajectory rod, versus using a single hole. If you could draw a 3 ft circle in midair and several trajectories land in that circle, you could expect the trajectories came from a single point.

PIKE COUNTY TRIAL: Prosecutor Wilson is asking a lot about this laundry area in Frankie's trailer - if someone was there, could it block access to the bedroom where the bodies were found?

Fortner says it could yes.



In another bedroom, Fortner found an open window (this was discussed Tuesday) - and a tub of baby chicks.

In 2nd photo, Fortner points out a knife in the jam. Also the air conditioner just outside - had grass on top of it.



Fortner added that he felt entrance through the window was less likely at the time because nothing was disturbed in that bedroom.

Fortner found a piece of paper with a blood stain on it in the hallway outside the bedroom - lab came back showing that blood contained mixture of DNA from Frankie Rhoden and Hannah Gilley.

Court is taking its 15 minute morning break.

Afterward, prosecutor Wilson says testimony will move to the back bedroom where Fortner documented Frankie and Hannah's bodies.

The defense did not like that testimony about the blood smeared around between them due to the baby moving around did they? Guess they don't like the idea that a baby laid in their parents blood for hours. Maybe it makes their client look bad huh?
