The defense did not like that testimony about the blood smeared around between them due to the baby moving around did they? Guess they don't like the idea that a baby laid in their parents blood for hours. Maybe it makes their client look bad huh?

I can't decide if that bushy eye browed defence guy is feeling queasy looking at the pictures or if he is trying to protect GW4

PIKE COUNTY TRIAL: Agent Fortner back on the stand after break.

He's about to describe entering Frankie and Hannah's bedroom and seeing their bodies - he calls it dark and cluttered. Had to use artificial light at times

Photos will be shown to the court (not on the livestream).

Agent Fortner says he found blood inside the door to the bedroom. Single drip stain.

Also just testified he found blood on paper in the hallway leading to it. It was Frankie and Hannah's mix.

Agent Fortner says the bedroom was a bloody scene.

Adds that the blood drop inside the door was consistent with a child being taken out of the room. The sample of that blood was not sent to the BCI lab, according to prosecutor Wilson.

Fortner says there was an incubator for baby chicks in the room.Found cellphones there too.

Then started documenting condition, location, positioning of bodies. Both Frankie and Hannah were in bed - gunshot wounds to head. Lots of blood between them.

Agent Fortner testifies that the blood between Frankie and Hannah's bodies was smeared in a way consistent with movement, wiggling.

Hannah had a nursing bra on - unclipped. Blood smeared along breast and side.

Defense objects to this - denied.

That line of questioning was to get to a point prosecutors made in opening statements - that Hannah Hazel was nursing Ruger when she was shot and killed.

Family in the courtroom is shielding faces are graphic photos of the bodies.

Agent Fortner describes the injuries to Frankie and Hannah.

What is George Wagner IV doing during this? It appears he is taking notes off and on.

At least one family member just left the courtroom - as prosecutors show photos of gunshot wounds to their heads. These photos are close ups - defense objects to them.

Hannah Gilley's mom is in the middle here - understandably very emotional in that courtroom.

Defense team continues to object on basis of these photos being inflammatory and not in dispute.

Judge Deering again overrules the objection.

Agent Fortner described moving Hannah Gilley's body for photos and with the coroner. Her arms were stiff from rigor mortis by that time.

Says she had no torso wounds - all to the head.

After removing Frankie's body ("in the evening, it was dark"), Fortner says he found a rimfire cartridge casing in the bed - collected it as evidence. It was a Remington casing according to lettering on it.

Agent Fortner says he found more of the same kind of Remington rimfire casings in the bed

The live .22 rounds found could/most likely mean the weapon was jamming. Can also mean the bullet didn't fire.

Suppressors can cause jamming, especially if there's no adjustment on the gas mechanism to compensate.

Is that what was said? I haven't followed too many trial fully like I am this one and I feel like past trial have had more objections raised, but then the ones I am seeing with this one seem silly.

Only the word in quotes. The rest is a paraphrase.

It goes something like ... (paraphrase) Objection, we object that we don't dispute this evidence and have no objection to it.

moo
They want the prosecution to stop showing so much evidence.

I think Frankie and Hannah Gilley's murders are the 2 that I think are most senseless when looking at the Wagner's motive. They went to this house to kill this couple because they might try to get custody of their sisters child? These along with CRjr because he happened to be at Dana's. It all is so senseless, but the kids is what gets me.

G4 is tired of seeing those scenes, as they may be etched in his head since night of 4/21, 4/22 - meaning He’s seen them before.

Only 1 wound from so many rifle shots... maybe the suppressor did throw off the sighting. Or JW is a horrible shot. Maybe the first shot was trying for the head and caught the door frame. Then the rest was just spraying shots.

Fortner found two cellphones in a crib in the bedroom - at least one was a Kyocera phone.

A live round was found on the floor near the bedroom door - results of DNA testing were inconclusive, Frankie and Hannah could not be excluded as contributors to that mixture.

Fortner says he did a FARO scan of Frankie and Hannah's bedroom before he collected the cellphones and casings there.

He's about to show the scans. As we've learned from his prior testimony, there are millions of measurements taken.

If you're wondering what this FARO scan tech looks like - since we can't show the scenes from court - here's a video from the company (this is the latest version, but you get the idea):

Like the first scene, both sides stipulate as fact -

"The DNA profiles of Jake, George, Billy, and Angela Wagner were not found in any evidence collected from the scene."

Court is taking a lunch break - we'll get a little more from agent Fortner when we're back - then likely bringing Dr. Karen Looman back to discuss Frankie and Hannah's autopsies.

Or George was a horrible shot. I don't think they completely summarized the ballistics at Chris Sr & Gary's crime scene, though. If they did, they weren't really clear. They confirmed the arm wound was from a high powered rifle, like an assault rifle, but as for identifying the bullets retrieved from the victims, I didn't hear them say "we tested the ballistics and these came from XYZ gun owned by the Wagners".

Thank you for the summaries, Niner! They're great!

JMO, its important for the state to stipulate this. It tells the jury that, even though the Wagners admit to being there and killing these victims, their DNA isn't found due to precautions taken and luck.
