There were more than 8 they knew they might kill. CH sleeping on HR's couch, and Chris Jr. often had friends of his spend the night. They said Gary was killed only because he was staying at Chris's and that they had no problem killing him just for being there.
Then we know Kendra and her boyfriend could have stayed at HR's and we know Miranda G almost spent the night with her sister HG, and on top of that Donald Stone said he was going to stay with Kenny but then stayed with his girlfriend.
Had that many people been around, due to the cars parked there and spying through the windows and maybe phone calls etc... They may have put it off. But they say HG was only killed because she was there so we know they didn't care about killing witnesses.

He doesn't believe she (Hanna) recognized him, but she saw him and he shot her. He will tell you that after he shot her, he rearranged her body on the bed so that Kiley could nurse if she wanted to. And he will say that he went back into Dana's room and shot her more times because she was making noises. And then he will tell you that he went out of the door that led from Dana's room into the kitchen.

That's why we have that high powered rifle that is shooting through the doorway and forcing the wood into his skin. Again, you will see that it broke his arm and Billy was still inside of the residence, according to Jake, with the 40 Glock where he shot both Billy and Chris and Gary and they had multiple gunshot. I think Chris Senior had nine total gunshot wounds.
