PIKE COUNTY, Ohio —

A town woke up one morning to the horror that eight people were brutally killed. The Rhoden family suffered an unthinkable loss eight times over on one late April night in 2016. And years would go by before an arrest was made, and the massacre of an entire family still haunts Pike County, Ohio to this day. On April 22, 2021 Edward Jake Wagner pleads guilty and agrees to testify against family members.

PRESSER: APRIL 27, 2016

Video Interview with Attorney General DeWine Published 8-13-16

Minors: You may discuss what is covered in the main stream media regarding the custody of minor children. If posting snips from articles regarding the children please redact their names. These babes are innocents. One day they will google their names or those of their parents. And plenty will come up. Let's be respectful of them and the catastrophic loss they have suffered at such tender ages. Thanks.

DO NOT SLEUTH STILL LIVING FAMILY MEMBERS' FACEBOOK PAGES AND POST ABOUT IT HERE. Just don't mention it. Period.

Leave the politics, both national and local, at the door. There is no room for them here.

Mod Note:
Statements being made as fact require a link.

Personal experiences
with marijuana are off topic.

Discussing both sides of what is being presented in court is permitted.

Do not chastise other members for their point of view.

Those that are unable to adhere to the rules as outlined in the TOS will be given a time out or banned from the conversation.

This trial is expected to be very long, and with any case there will likely be topics or claims presented that one personally disagrees with. That is OK - everyone is entitled to share their point of view, as long as it is done within TOS, facts are linked, the essence of the comment is victim friendly, and other posters are not attacked for their own point of view.

Please keep in mind that the judge has stated no photos involving victims or minors, and no photos that include blood, etc. related to the crime scenes, are to be published. Those same images will not be permitted on WS in accordance with the court order.

Read, before you proceed…..

MOD NOTE:
As a reminder, Mods are not online at all times. There are only a few of us, and there is no way we can read each of our thousands of threads and certainly every post. Posts of concern or question should be reported using the “Report” hyperlink at the bottom of the post.

Additionally, I would like to reiterate that all views and perspectives are invited and welcome so long as they are in alignment with WS TOS. If you disagree with another, you do have options:
1. Scroll By

2. Be curious to others opinions by politely asking why they see things the way they do

You do not have the option to be out right rude to, or condescending towards others. You do not have the option to accuse other Posters or generalize them in the thread as being PRO- Wagner. Some are here to learn and understand the process. Asking questions, and sharing of thoughts by Posters does not open the door to labeling or chastising others in thread.

New thread for second afternoon session for Wagner Pike County Trial. Next up is BCI forensic accounting supervisor Mike Kaizar who has opted in

He started in private sector and investigated fraud all over the world. He says he thought it would be boring just doing criminal stuff for BCI but it has been anything but. Does drug cases/murder cases.

Says he focuses clearly on what allegations are instead of auditor who looks at everything. Looks at bank records, tax statements etc.

Finding the bank accounts is the biggest challenge for him. Once he gets them, he can start plowing through the records.

He might start with utilities - asks them through subpoena how they are paying their bills. Then finds banks and then can find the rest

Credit card purchases can take longer to post than when the purchase was actually made - especially ones from overseas. Also will flag fraud protection - like the ones made from Chinese company on George Wagner's card - and triggered fraud alert

That was me saying that about the George Wagner card - not him yet.

"Everything shows up" even when you dispute it and it comes off

He started helping on Rhoden homicide case in July or August 2016.

But also dove into the Wagner family finances after they were identified as supsects.

All the records he searched for all these accounts https://twitter.com/jamespilcher

The first shared account between Billy and Angela closed in May 2016.

He was on look at for flashlights, specialized drill bits, tactical equipment etc. ... found several of these.

Some accounts were in George's name, also shared with Jake. One purchase from that was for Winter Soldier mask as listed below, as well as lots of concrete mix.

Also he noticed several insurance payouts - my comment here - possibly from previous house fires etc. One was for $40k to George Wagner - three different ones all deposited in March 2016.

This was to the trucking company account that was in George's name.

There was also a deposit of a check from Fredericka and Bob Wagner for $33,000 into the account controlled by George IV and Angela Wagner in March 2016.

There was also a deposit of a check from Fredericka and Bob Wagner for $33,000 into the account controlled by George IV and Angela Wagner in March 2016. Then there was money transferred to another account, and that account paid a lawyer $27,000

They went into the credit card data for each person but then shut it down for the day. Kaizar will be back tomorrow.

Bringing forward from last thread

Did the witness say what account that money, $27,000, was transferred into? Was that money from FW given to JW via that GWIV/AW account?

I wonder if this was right around the time JW started soliciting funds from the public to pay his lawyer's bills?

A Cabela's Capitol 1 in George's name was rejected. Third attempt the payment was accepted on Jake's Bass Pro Shop card. So George was attempting to buy something with his Cabela card, got turned down, so he used Jake's card. All related to the same purchase of a camera

Items of interest purchased on another transaction - Ammunition, SKS magazine 30 rounds. Purchased with Jake's credit card. Bass Pro Shops Cinci

These are all purchases from March 2016

Good morning from Pike County - more from the murder trial of George Wagner IV. First up is BCI forensic accountant Michael Kaizar continuing his testimony from yesterday.

They are going through credit cards in the names of Jake, Angela and George. There was a purchase and a receipt for something just shown to the jury on Jake's card - Walmart receipt for the camera kit.

George.jpg

There were two attempts to use George's Cabela Visa card that were declined (possibly for China purchase) and then another purchase was made with Jake's credit card.

Also bought ammunition at a Bass ProShop in Cincinnati. 40 rounds of ammo per box and a magazine bought as week - SKS magazine 30 round. .762 x 30 mm ammunition

George Wagner's credit card was never refunded for the $600-plus purchase to Chinese company. They haven't said exactly what that purchase was for - but the website they found on laptop indicated it was a cell phone jammer from China.

That purchase was made on March 18, 2016. Now onto one on April 13, 2016 from Rural King in Waverly for $553. Bought another flashlight. Another one on George's card from OK Auto Parts in Peebles in April 2016 for an auto filter possibly used as silencer

More on George's card on April 27 2016 at Rural King - bought a gun with his name on the receipt.

Prosecution previously introduced a Beretta 9 mm with skulls on the grips that was bought on that day.

Home equity loan on Peterson Road property in Jake's name, but then some money from that loan sent to George Wagner's credit card

According to this testimony, it sounds like the Wagners were a criminal enterprise financially connected to each other.

The state is showing they commingle money in buying items probably (most likely) used in the massacre.
