PIKE COUNTY, Ohio —

A town woke up one morning to the horror that eight people were brutally killed. The Rhoden family suffered an unthinkable loss eight times over on one late April night in 2016. And years would go by before an arrest was made, and the massacre of an entire family still haunts Pike County, Ohio to this day. On April 22, 2021 Edward Jake Wagner pleads guilty and agrees to testify against family members.

PRESSER: APRIL 27, 2016

Video Interview with Attorney General DeWine Published 8-13-16

Minors: You may discuss what is covered in the main stream media regarding the custody of minor children. If posting snips from articles regarding the children please redact their names. These babes are innocents. One day they will google their names or those of their parents. And plenty will come up. Let's be respectful of them and the catastrophic loss they have suffered at such tender ages. Thanks.

DO NOT SLEUTH STILL LIVING FAMILY MEMBERS' FACEBOOK PAGES AND POST ABOUT IT HERE. Just don't mention it. Period.

Leave the politics, both national and local, at the door. There is no room for them here.

Mod Note:
Statements being made as fact require a link.

Personal experiences
with marijuana are off topic.

Discussing both sides of what is being presented in court is permitted.

Do not chastise other members for their point of view.

Those that are unable to adhere to the rules as outlined in the TOS will be given a time out or banned from the conversation.

This trial is expected to be very long, and with any case there will likely be topics or claims presented that one personally disagrees with. That is OK - everyone is entitled to share their point of view, as long as it is done within TOS, facts are linked, the essence of the comment is victim friendly, and other posters are not attacked for their own point of view.

Mod Note:

Please keep in mind that the judge has stated no photos involving victims or minors, and no photos that include blood, etc. related to the crime scenes, are to be published. Those same images will not be permitted on WS in accordance with the court order.

Starting new thread for testimony in Wagner murder trial in Pike County. Also just learned appeals court ruled in media's favor allowing us to photograph and video any exhibit or evidence shown in court. It's up to us whether to publish or broadcast. Thanks

Read, before you proceed…..

MOD NOTE:
As a reminder, Mods are not online at all times. There are only a few of us, and there is no way we can read each of our thousands of threads and certainly every post. Posts of concern or question should be reported using the “Report” hyperlink at the bottom of the post.

Additionally, I would like to reiterate that all views and perspectives are invited and welcome so long as they are in alignment with WS TOS. If you disagree with another, you do have options:
1. Scroll By
OR
2. Be curious to others opinions by politely asking why they see things the way they do

You do not have the option to be out right rude to, or condescending towards others. You do not have the option to accuse other Posters or generalize them in the thread as being PRO- Wagner. Some are here to learn and understand the process. Asking questions, and sharing of thoughts by Posters does not open the door to labeling or chastising others in thread.

Mod Note:
Thread is open.
I feel that many of us have been here long enough to sense when tensions are rising in the thread. When this occurs, step away for a bit or report posts of concerns. Do not continue to be argumentative on the thread.

Time outs have been, and will continue to be issued to posters in violation.

Thanks for your understanding and for helping us keep thread closures and clean up to a minimum.

Since you're here: Are we allowed to use information, etc from the Topix site since it's been mentioned a few times and elaborated on what it is in court and on the court records?
TIA
Topix can be referenced only as presented by evidence in court.
Topix conversations, activities, etc are not permitted unless a conversation is specifically admitted into evidence and linkable via a court exhibit.

Bottom line: WS will not permit bringing over rumors or speculation from any website or chat room.

I read last night the prosecution has approximately 2 more weeks of presentations. I don't know if that's based on a 6 hour day (and Court out Thursday) but I would think it's a good estimation.

I wonder how many witnesses the defense has. I'd really like to know if GW maintains friends outside the family. I'm talking actual friends, the kind you go out with, go hunting with, help each other with projects, sit around a bonfire. I know in her Montana interview, AW said she didn't have any friends she talked to on a regular basis. She said she was too busy with the grandkids and raising dogs (or something like that).

Yesterday, in E's testimony, she said they always went anywhere & everywhere as a group, even short trips to the corner market. I hope the jury caught that.

I am looking forward to FW and RW on the stand.

JMHO,.....EAs testimony was truthful and powerful. I'm so glad she held it together and didn't let the defense rattle her. I agree with whoever said she set the tone for that interview.

I'd like to know what drew her to JW.

Iirc, GW and Frankie Rhoden we're good friends. And we know what happened to Frankie. That hit me in the gut when I heard that. That's some top level betrayal. IMO.

There appears to be NO loyalty outside the W4 clan. As already mentioned, even the wives played second fiddle to the 4 Wagner clan murderers. They are incapable of forming true and lasting friendships, too paranoid of outsiders! Jmo

Wow, EA, the perfect witness. Proud of EA and how she stood her ground. Powerful testimony. EA gave the jury a look into the lives of what it's like living with the Wagners, a living hell. Ws have no boundaries, no respect for others, no regard for others’ lives.

Desperate people do desperate things. No one and no body was going to get in the way of AW. This is how she lived her life and wasn’t about to stop or change it for anyone. A person like AW stops at nothing to get their way and make their point. Even murder.

AW characteristics:
Manipulative and cunning (exploit other people’s weaknesses)
Narcissist (believes they’re always right)
Lying (lies about everything, it is who they’re)
No real emotions (doesn’t feel any emotions)
Lack remorse (doesn’t feel bad about their actions)
Lack human attachment (no real intimate friendships/relationships)

All flaws. Unfortunately, I can’t say anything good about AW or any of the Ws for that matter.

IMO

I felt the worst about the children and EA's description of their treatment, their stress and trauma. It haunts me how damaged those children were. I hope they're in loving, positive homes now and have access to counseling. It tore me up thinking how upset Hanna would be if she knew her daughter was being beaten and badly traumatized.

S was never allowed to process her feelings about her mother's death, she was never allowed to mourn her. JMO, they all deserve the DP for that alone.

Can you imagine moving into a world where reading to children is not allowed?

I hope we get to hear GWs interview in Montana soon. I want to see and hear more info on GW.

And the shoe/foot expert. They had all that laid out yesterday, but I guess there was a change of plan. I hope we hear it Monday.
