LUNCH BREAK IN OH v. #GeorgeWagnerIV: John Patrick Parker began the cross-examination by being more friendly than Wednesday. Jake seems very comfortable answering Q's from Parker. He has a sort of country boy charm. Hard to explain

Parker said, "if you need a break, let me know." Jake responds smiling, "I gotcha." He starts by asking Jake about Billy teaching him to pick locks. Jake went into great detail about how Billy taught him how to do that at 10 or 11

Jake said Billy taught him, also learned by trial and error and Youtube. Jake said "I was very good." He also said he carried a pick in his wallet. Also, Billy taught him survival skills. How to evade police, enter a house

Billy was prepping for the end of the world. Billy bought a bread truck and buried it in the ground and stored food and water in it. "He was preparing for, what was that thing called in the year 2000? 2KO? Kind of the apocalypse thing in 2012?”

Jake said Billy also taught him survival skills like being observant, living off substances like mushrooms and roots. Billy also had a sea container to use as a bomb shelter. Food and water stored there.

Jake detailed life of crime that he and his family lived. They stole trucks, vehicles, chop shop type thing. Broke into vending machines. Jake said he never personally stole fuel. Billy did. They stole from tractor trailers, washing machines, furnitures, etc.

Jake said dad told him when he was 12, 13 that he stole so he didn't have to. He said Billy wanted him to hear it from him and not other sources. Once, Billy stole a tractor full of goods, drove it to Mexico and came back with a briefcase that had $100K in it.

Jake said Billy bought him a truck with some of the money. The family also buried money in mason jars. He said they stole trailers that had hot tubs, furniture, food. Jake liked video games. His 3 faves: Resident Evil, Halo, Call of Duty.

Jake was homeschooled. Angela took his tests in English, Social Studies and history b/c he said he told her "I told her I wasn't doing that crap. I was going to be a mechanic or a truck driver." He got math and science

But Angela wanted him to graduate so she took his tests for him. Jake said to an extent, video games had an influence on him. Billy didn't like going to the doctor. Didn't want them going to the doctor. Billy stitched Jake up using duct tape or electrical tape

One time, Jake's head was hit in the head trying to lasso a tire on a 4-wheeler. "I got a big old gash in my forehead." He walked into the house and took his hands away from it and blood started gushing out. Billy took him to the hospital and to the MD

"You break that stitch again, I'll break your neck." Another time, he was hit in the head with a steel pole. Walked into the house and they didn't take him to the MD. Hit in the temple. Angela called it heat stroke, Billy thought it was a concussion

But, no one took him to the doctor. For a week, he couldn't eat, walk very far and was constantly vomiting. Jake said he was very tight with his mother. Angela worked for a short time at Wal-Mart and Fredericka's "mentally retarded home.”

Then they went through the burning of the homes/structures on Bethel Hill Rd. Fredericka was going to sell the 600 acres so they wanted to be compensated for the house they had built after the first burned down.

Jake said they had built the home with stolen materials. So, it was worth about $200K. A regular person would consider it worth $400K. Jake, GW4 and Chris Rhoden Sr. set up a big crock pot on the stove, dropped a turkey in it and watched it overflow

Jake then sprayed the fire with a kitchen water hose to spread the fire and Chris Sr. watched so he could be a witness. "Dad fed me to the wolves" because Jake had to talk to the cops, firefighters.

Jake said he liked to go to church when he was in Alaska.Almost every Sunday. Met Beth Anne. He wanted a Christian woman to help raise Sophia. They got married. On their wedding night, he said he started to see she wasn't the woman Beth Anne portrayed she was

He said he asked to watch a show on her phone on their wedding night and when he started to type and "witchcraft" and "witch spells" and stuff like that came up. Beth Anne told him "oh it's a search suggestion."

Jake didn't believe it. He said "that's serious stuff. Nobody wants to be married to a witch!" Parker asked whether they consummated the marriage that night. Jake said yes. Parker asked if he forced himself on Beth Anne. Jake looked appalled and said "no."

This differs from Beth Anne's testimony. She told the jury Jake didn't honor her wishes to not consummate the marriage that night. Then,in Missouri, they were all playing a 21 question game. Beth Anne said she was part of cults as a teen and she didn't tell him.

Jake said he and Sophia had a very special bond. He wanted her to grow up as a good Christian. "I wanted her to have a good man as a husband and have lots of babies. Grandbabies." Sophia wanted to be a baby doctor

With Hanna, it wasn't "love at first sight. She grew on me." They talked about having a baby together. Hanna knew people who were having babies. They agreed on how they would raise children. "The night Sophia was conceived, that was all her."

Jake said he and Hanna May didn't want their children in certain environments and didn't want them to be "dudtards." What's that? A dud is when you fire a gun and it doesn't work. "And tard is part of 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬.”

Jake said "I love retarded people. I don't want to sound racist." Basically, he is saying he's not talking badly about people with disabilities. He said he and Hanna, even if their kids farmed, they wanted them to go to college.

Jake said after he and Hanna broke up (Hanna broke it off), "I don't want to talk bad about her. After she left me she gave up our parenting standards." He said Hanna felt like Sophia liked him better

Jake said when she started dating other men, "I guess you could say I was jealous." When asked. He said he was consumed and "overcome with fear" that Sophia would be molested.

Jake said his father Billy was part of group called "super truckers" who took pills to stay awake and drive for days and violate rest rules. Says it made Billy "irrational ... more angry ... more ready for violence."
@local12
Great just what the world needs is truckers taking pills to stay awake and drive on the road with lots of innocent people.

Today I’m filling in for the great @pattinewberry, who’s enjoying some well deserved time off from the #PikeCountyMassacre trial of George Wagner IV. His brother, Jake Wagner, returns to the stand today for a fourth day of testimony. Check back here for updates later today.

It wasn’t love at first sight. That’s what Jake Wagner said today on the stand about Hanna May Rhoden, whom Wagner earlier this week admitted to killing on April 21-22, 2016, along with four others. (1/9)

The #PikeCountyMassacre trial of Jake Wagner’s older brother, #GeorgeWagnerIV, is wrapping up its eighth week. Jake Wagner is in his fourth day of testimony. (2/9)

Jake said soon after the birth of his daughter, he began to fear that other people would molest her. “Joy, then came the fear,” he said. (3/9)

That fear came from knowing of other family members who’d been sexually assaulted, Jake said. “These things made me protective of a child’s innocence,” he added. (4/9)

Jake also told defense attorney John Parker this morning that while Hanna wanted more kids, he was at first hesitant to the idea. (5/9)

Jake testified that he eventually came around to the idea, and the pair talked about the number of kids they wanted to have and how they should be raised. (6/9)

Jake said no matter the number, he was firmly opposed to them attending a public school, indicating that drug use and pre-marital sex was rampant there. “Granted that kind of happened anyway,” he acknowledged. (7/9)

Jake said Hanna ultimately did not uphold her commitment of being a good parent. “I held my standard,” he said. The pair eventually broke up, and Jake said Hanna started “smoking again.” He also said that she began talking to other men. (8/9)

Check back here for later today for an update on the afternoon's testimony.

JMO, IANAL Clients/defendants are free to reveal any information they wish covered by attorney client privilege. The party who is legally bound is the attorney. Does anyone have a link showing that AC asked that specific question? TIA

That said, there's nothing to P&N's claims regarding the prosecution. They did this stuff all the time durng pre-trial. They frequently made baseless accusations against the prosecution, claiming they were hiding things, etc. None of it was true.

JMO, P&N play to the news media and if they can find a cooperative reporter or blogger or podcast willing to breathlessly report their rumors, they're happy. They do this because they have no other evidence to exonerate GW4.
Yes the defense did try all sorts of things pre-trial. Do you think JW's will legally be able to squash the subpoena? A motion by JW's lawyers is filed now but can they be directly asked if their client ever told them he killed all 8 victims, just him? I'm worrying if JW's lawyers will say, he did and they did share that info with the prosecution because they were legally bound to do so?

Im noticing a trend. Besides his mommy, Jake blames the 2 women in his life for disappointing him. He apparently has zero ownership. Jmo based off texts or whatever u call them.

I am just guessing here, but CRsr had motion activated cameras, lights and other such alarms around his place. BW would know they existed but not exactly where they were. If they approached in the middle of the night and set them off, CRsr would immediately know they were up to no good. So they needed to approach overtly.
BW would have known where they were he was at CRsr alot per his audio that was played in court, I am sure CRsr wouldn't have wanted to turn his surveillance off every time BW came to visit, so he probably showed him where to park and how to get to the house without constantly tripping the sensors,

I have no guns, have no need of guns, but every time I think of CRsr arsenal of guns and if he had only had just one of those guns out of his safe that night things may have been very different,

Motion to quash subpoena granted.

I suspect this comment is correct. Based off his feeling of wishing nothing more than to see his accomplices being set free, I suspect he is doing his level best to diminish their involvement. We will see if AW corroborates JWs testimony. Jmo
He seems to lay a lot of blame on dear ole dad and his loving mother. Dad's idea, Mom supported it by suggesting alternatives to killing ALL of them, but G3 found that dropping a dime on CR1 was much worse than murdering him and seven other people. G3 just couldn't rat out his old friend. Btw, did Skid Montgomery ever testify? I watched and waited for him, for a specific reason, and never saw him. Can't find his name anywhere in articles either. Maybe I dreamed he was going to be a witness.

I think he will be a defense witness. After the prosecution rest it will be game on. I wonder if he will perjure himself or plead the 5th?

I think they would only bring Skid in if there was more to learn about marijuana deals. Jmo

But that flea market could be an intriguing line of questions. How didthe Ws dispose of all those items they stole. Jmo

Jake agreed with Parker he was "consumed" with possibility of abuse or rape of his daughter Sophia, even before she was born. Says he knew lot of women who were victims including his mother and sister in law
@local12
What a statement to make. So let's just create eight victims of murder, based on nothing, and dozens and dozens more, including his daughter, of mental abuse, loss of love and affection, loss of their homes and lives, and then he and GW4 and AW victimized HMR, and TC, and EA. Maybe not sexually but that's not the only victimization nor pain that a female can feel. WTH would he have done when she turned 12 and decided to date the neighbor boy down the road, ride 4-wheelers to his mom's house for over nights and movies? Kill him and his family? I'm dealing with a needy dog so I'm relying on, y'all, and the occasional y.t. glimpse.

Very interesting, but does it pertain to the murders.

I was told a little something, early on, and had wondered if that's what they were bringing him in to verify. I'm almost positive he was on the witness list. Not that it would matter at this juncture, it was just a case of my own curiosity.

I do remember his name being brought up. Was it the recording of Billy talking to the BCI agents, in a car in a parking lot?

It would go toward proving their thievery and another blow to their character. That flea market (and others) rent booths to the sellers (I think). My question had something more in line with him helping out the Rs with a personal favor, over the Ws. they were not happy. It would have been around the same 4-6 week period that C3 and CR1 broke ties. I didn't feel like it led to the murders, but may have been another burr under G3's saddle.

No. I heard it way back not long after the murders. Just kept it tucked back. If it were pertinent, someone in all this would have tracked him down and done some sort of witness testimony. I just thought I'd fallen asleep and missed it or something.

Lol Insomniac that you are... I remember him being discussed way back years ago also. He's pretty well connected and therefore maybe well protected. I'd sure love to have them haul him in to testify.

Various users on Twitter were sharing audio recorded of Jake testifying. I didn’t know that was allowed now?

Scoots Valley Guardian then made a video of it, using the source’s audio recording
