Good morning from Waverly, OH. I'm back at the courthouse to observe today's testimony in #GeorgeWagnerIV's murder trial. It appears George's mom, #AngelaWagner, will be testifying; opting out - so I'll be scribbling notes & providing updates as soon as possible.

First on the witness stand this morning is Ohio BCI firearms expert Matt White. He’s testifying more about weapons Jake Wagner led investigators to, incl. this SKS rifle that Jake said his brother George had the night of the #PikeCountyMassacre

Mr. White is showing jurors a filter used to make a homemade silencer.

Jurors in #GeorgeWagnerIV’s murder trial are seeing more photos of weapons investigators found in concrete buckets. George’s brother Jake testified lat week that the weapons were placed in buckets affixed to a homemade geese float.. 1/2

2/2 that was given to the boys’ paternal grandfather as a gift not long after the 2016 #PikeCountyMassacre that left 8 members of the Rhoden family dead.

Mr. White w/ OH BCI says these are cartridge cases investigators found in the buckets filled w/ concrete.

Jurors in #GeorgeWagner's murder trial are now taking a short break. George's mom Angela could be on the stand next. Stay w/ #WLWT for updates. Since it appears Angela Wagner has opted out of letting her testimony be broadcast, I'll be in the courtroom furiously taking notes.

Silly me! Lol!

Came back during the break and some files were being processed from the courtroom camera. Copying this morning's video I'll guess. On the screen was a progress bar with 2:35 seconds remaining.

I clicked all over my phone trying to stop the download.

Looks like Nash and GW4 is good buddy’s but Robert’s doesn’t speak to GW4 much at all, JMO

I was surprised by the crude parts and craftsmanship on the Wagner silencers.

I'm also surprised at silencers being sold on FB advertised as oil filters. If you watch their video you can see they aren't oil filters at all, but top notch silencers. Being sold relatively dirt cheap too, that is if they're actually delivered.

It wasn't until seeing the testimony on silencers that I finally realized those couldn't be oil filters. At first I just chalked them up to being some gimmick, then it finally clicked.

The blue hose won't fit anywhere, it's just there to help make you think it's an oil filter. They look just like the one below, and in some ads they're called solvent trap, just as mentioned in testimony. $40

Edit: The end cap is even pre-punched in the center for easy drilling.

Lots of note taking again by George. Is he planning on writing a book? Is he going to look at Angela at all?

Any idea why the defense would have asked about some SKS not being wood? After all that testimony Matthew White gave, that was all the wanted to ask him? I found it odd because you can clearly see it's wood, even though it's damaged. I often expect there to be a point to be made when they are asking questions, but I guess sometimes maybe it's just a distraction and he wants the jurors to be thinking just like I am huh? lol

Yes, just trying to keep the appearance of some doubt that may be brought up later. Appearances for the jury.

Was thinking, that's all you have? It's as if "see, I knew something you didn't mention!"

okay good! I was wondering what I was missing. I mean so this wooden part here that was clearly what was removed from that concrete in that bucket in the pond right where Jake said it would be, COULD be made of something other than wood on other models of this gun?

Yes

Okay thank you.

Maybe he was curious for personal reasons.. he could be in the market for one of those guns, but doesn't like the look of the wood? :D

After Chris Sr was shot in the arm by the SKS he didn’t have much of a chance fighting back because it probably blew his arm just about off, JMO

Splinters.

Parker could have gone on the rest of the day asking about all the manufacturers emblems and logos. Must be hundreds of those.

Remember the extremely nervous defense attorney in My Cousin Vinny? Parker should walk up and say... Uh uh I got nuthin'. I can't deal with all this evidence! (hands in the air)

That's essentially what the medical examiner said.

On top of that, it was happening fast, those shots from outside came in quick succession and then shots were fired from inside the room.

All of them look like they had a rough night

They're writing furiously, mounting a big defense this time around? Nash had a reaction to something.

GW4 always uses a red pen.

No... likely just tic tac toe. should be playing/drawing hangman.

Looks like Nash and Parker are taking their cues from George today. He writes, they nod and copy.
Nash is intent on jury reactions today also.
