I disagree. I think if they at all suspected it they would have reported it. But, who knows with this crazy warped family.
Reporting things to authorities carries risks if you are a crime family. And in this case, the agency for child protection might have had questions about the kiddos not sleeping in their assigned rooms but sleeping in bed with grandma. Wasn't the purpose of the blue and pink rooms to show "anyone" that the kids had rooms? Or did I hallucinate that??

I can't love this enough! Exactly -- you would not send that child back period. And if murder hit your mind, you would have handled it now not later. Ridiculous that AC has bought in to all this BS. IMO.

Do you think she bought into it?

I think AC using what she has to work with & doing the best she can with it.

To me, Angela's testimony ultimately demonstrates she was behind it all, starting from the day her boys were born. I think that is the most detrimental to George's case.

Grooming is a hot button word today, and I think Angela & Billy are an excellent example of what grooming looks like. No matter what we learn at home, each of us forms an opinion on right vs wrong at some point. Theft is wrong. Lying is wrong. Murder is wrong. Jake and George were adults, they knew right from wrong. They were the bread winners in the house. They could have left. They could have cut Angela off. Thousands of men single parent every day. They make it work. Jake & George could have made it work as well. They chose not to.

I think Angela's testimony is the most harmful of all so far. Maybe she wasn't the mastermind behind the murder plot but she was the catalyst and it shows.

I know @johnny commented about AW's eyebrows, but now that I look closer at her picture, I see that her eyebrows don't look right or is it just the lighting in the picture? It looks as if she only has a half an eyebrow on each side, or no?
Maybe some friends of hers in prison got her down, held her while they shaved them completely off.

It sounds like these were fabricated claims, JMO. Most concerned parents and grandparents would at least take the child to a doctor.

Very strange people. Remember how Jake claimed he hit his head as a kid and was sick and dizzy but they wouldn't take him to the doctor?

No, many would not, if it was inner-family. Remember even the letter to the judge by Old Man Rhoden's victim? Most regret going b/c of the family turmoil, and ostracism. They'd had to have named CR2 at the ER, if OH is anything like Ky, or they could have been in trouble for not naming the suspect. They'd have shown up at the Rs wanting to talk to CR2. S's version may have been them playing a harmless game too. It's not as cut and dried as people think.

Question...

After all said and done, will the Wagners be able to write each other in prison.
Yes they will be able to correspond.

Never has a Convicted person that has been executed committed another crime.

Don’t forget Billy, George and Jake where extremely hot heads they would have been a bad fight if the Wagner’s though for a second that SW was abused, Angela Wagner is doing what she does best telling lies to cover for her family (Again)

I think she's telling what S told her, but always looking for the sexual abuse in any situation.

You are right! EA testified it was the reason for the colors of the rooms. But that was AFTER the murders when they came back to OH.

Do you remember the phone call from Angela to George about finding the house in Alaska? He had very few questions but one of the first was about painting the kids rooms. Weird, huh? I didn't catch that till it came up again last week how few questions GW asked about buying a new house sight unseen using his credit - but painting was one of them. So it was something they had all discussed. It also shows they ALL knew the sleeping arrangements were not quite kosher.

But still...If they were worried the child was actively being abused; them not attempting to confirm or stop that abuse (a heinous abuse) doesn't add up.

I think you’re attributing an importance to Angela that she didn’t have. We can’t turn her into a witch, given what we know about the Wagner family: all these robberies, all these frauds predate the murders. It is still the sign that in this Wagner family there were warning signs.

#PikeCoMassacre trial continues with George's mom, Angela, on the stand. We can't record her testimony, but I am taking notes for you.

She is very careful with what she says. she hasn't pointed the finger at George too much.

The morning started with Lead Prosecutor Angela Canepa asking her if she thought they were going to get away with the murders. She said, "My belief was, even if we hadn't ended up in jail or getting arrested, you never get away with it.”

Then, prosecutor asked her about the Wagner men's tattoos. Prosecutors have tried to prove to jurors they got them to commemorate the murders. Angela said she does not remember when they got those. She said she does not know if they went together to get them.

about a year after the murders, she said BCI came around to take to Jake as they were trying to move to Alaska. She said in Alaska, her brother informed her BCI was searching their packed belongings. She said she remembered feeling "Nervous, worried. I was upset.”

She said she was worried because they were trying to hide things.

She said they spent 10 days looking for houses in Alaska. On the way home, BCI stopped them at the border for interrogations. She said the four had already discussed their alibi. The story would be Billy came over for movie night and spent the night.

She said they stopped in Alaska for 10 days to look for houses, then they were on their way back. All four discussed their alibi. They were supposed to say it was family movie night and Billy spent the night. There was a specific movie they were all supposed to say they watched.

She couldn't remember the movie. Anyway, they were at the border of Canada when BCI stopped them all for interrogations and bugged their phones and SUV.

She said Billy got out of interrogation first. Followed by her, then George and finally Jake. She said she wasn't prepared for the shoe question because she did not know she left the receipt.

Outside she said she was an "emotional wreck". "I was crying. I was upset.. and George and Jake wasn't out there, and that made me worry that much more." She was worried they were going to arrest them and take the children away.

She said Billy reassured her and reminded her not to talk about it inside the car. She said they stopped in Montana hospital because George's son was acting disoriented but doctors found nothing wrong with him.

She then moved to the topic of returning to Alaska to move. Once they got there, she said she saw the Ohio Attorney General released a press release that said they were wanted and there was a cash reward. "It was scary, very nerve racking," said Angela.

She said Billy started drinking a lot. She was worried he might try to commit suicide. She said both their parents died while they were away and they didn't return for the funerals.

That's when they decided to go back to Ohio. Jake had a new wife to bring, too. The initial plan was to move to Missouri, but they couldn't find a farm... that fell through. Once back in Ohio, George and Jake started driving for R&L trucking company.

ok im going back in courtroom. tweet again at lunch.

It sounds like that may have been the Wagner's rationale at first, but it obviously changed later. They had no qualms about murdering CR2 and everyone else in his family. Reporting it to the hospital would have been the more sensible alternative. I'm still of the opinion that the SA didn't happen, but was trumped up as justification for mass murder.
Disgusting that this woman continues to slander the people she helped kill, when they're no longer living to defend themselves. Scum. Cell Block Tango defense.

Will the media obtain and publish the transcripts of her testimony? I support a defendants rights, but she should have been stripped of the right to opt out of audio/video coverage. The entire world should be able to hear what evil sounds like.

Patricia Gallagher Newberry
Transcripts can be expensive. Someone will obtain them at some point of course. That could be an author or a journalist or a screenwriter. Whether they’ll share them is another matter. But I would not be surprised if they emerge at some point.

The 35th day of #GeorgeWagnerIV's murder trial is under. Sorry for the lack of early tweets! Was in the courtroom, scribbling notes. Jurors are on a brief break. I have to head back into the courtroom now & will share info. re Angela Wagner's testimony later.

Thank you for your input. One never knows what they might learn until they listen to other opinions.

Also, witch isn't the word I would use but it does rhyme with it - and I didn't turn her into one. I based my opinion on the words of the three girls who made the mistake of getting involved with her sons.

A "crime family" is exactly the perfect term for the Wagners. Early on in the trial, when their financial statements were read in court line by line, it was clear to me the Wagners had for years operated as a criminal enterprise. moo

Anyone think Billy will try to escape when he goes to trial?

I seriously don't believe SW was showing any signs of abuse..to me this was AW's lying way to start the wheels in motion to get Jake riled up. I would think HR would have picked up on something amiss with her daughter. AW knew there was no way the Wagners could obtain full custody. What a story...makes me sick they used this child..MOO

Another great point, Betty P.

Jake testified the intended target was Hanna. He testified CR, FR, CRjr & KR were killed out of fear of future retaliation. The rest were killed simply because they were there or might know who did it.

While none of us heard his testimony first hand, I'm of the opinion if Jake had testified he killed anyone (or everyone) because of what they had done to his little girl, the reporters would have reported it. Same for AW's testimony. According to testimony thus far, not one person died for (suspicion of) hurting that child. Not one.
