PIKE COUNTY, Ohio —

A town woke up one morning to the horror that eight people were brutally killed. The Rhoden family suffered an unthinkable loss eight times over on one late April night in 2016. And years would go by before an arrest was made, and the massacre of an entire family still haunts Pike County, Ohio to this day. On April 22, 2021 Edward Jake Wagner pleads guilty and agrees to testify against family members.

PRESSER: APRIL 27, 2016

Video Interview with Attorney General DeWine Published 8-13-16

These babes are innocents. One day they will google their names or those of their parents. And plenty will come up. Let's be respectful of them and the catastrophic loss they have suffered at such tender ages. Thanks.

Mod Note:
Statements being made as fact require a link.

Personal experiences
with marijuana are off topic.

Discussing both sides of what is being presented in court is permitted.

Do not chastise other members for their point of view.

Those that are unable to adhere to the rules as outlined in the TOS will be given a time out or banned from the conversation.

This trial is expected to be very long, and with any case there will likely be topics or claims presented that one personally disagrees with. That is OK - everyone is entitled to share their point of view, as long as it is done within TOS, facts are linked, the essence of the comment is victim friendly, and other posters are not attacked for their own point of view.

Mod Note:

Please keep in mind that the judge has stated no photos involving victims or minors, and no photos that include blood, etc. related to the crime scenes, are to be published. Those same images will not be permitted on WS in accordance with the court order.

Read, before you proceed…..

MOD NOTE:
As a reminder, Mods are not online at all times. There are only a few of us, and there is no way we can read each of our thousands of threads and certainly every post. Posts of concern or question should be reported using the “Report” hyperlink at the bottom of the post.

Additionally, I would like to reiterate that all views and perspectives are invited and welcome so long as they are in alignment with WS TOS. If you disagree with another, you do have options:
1. Scroll By
OR
2. Be curious to others opinions by politely asking why they see things the way they do

You do not have the option to be out right rude to, or condescending towards others. You do not have the option to accuse other Posters or generalize them in the thread as being PRO- Wagner. Some are here to learn and understand the process. Asking questions, and sharing of thoughts by Posters does not open the door to labeling or chastising others in thread.

Since you're here: Are we allowed to use information, etc from the Topix site since it's been mentioned a few times and elaborated on what it is in court and on the court records?
TIA
Topix can be referenced only as presented by evidence in court.
Topix conversations, activities, etc are not permitted unless a conversation is specifically admitted into evidence and linkable via a court exhibit.

Bottom line: WS will not permit bringing over rumors or speculation from any website or chat room.

@RAISINISBACK - This is your post I brought over, I was just in the middle of answering it when we changed over to this new thread.

But the judge gave a no contact order between co defendants and it was brought up in court fairly early that they were caught. But for some reason BCI and Canepa never mentioned whether they listened to the calls or what the content of them were. So why don't they play the recordings of the calls for the jury?

My answer to your post:

It doesn't look like you saw this so this is the only reason I'm posting this. I had posted this and the video it comes from in the Timeline. It's at the end of Rita's Revocation Hearing Part One. It is one hour and 16 minutes into the video.

CANEPA TALKING ABOUT RITA'S AND ANGELA'S PHONE CALLS

November 20 - January 20 the phone calls between Rita and Angela are all about how they can't talk to each other.

First call November 20:

Randa Hughes is Chris Newcome's girlfriend/fiance and she answers Angela's phone call which was made to Angela's grandmother. All through Rita's year long house arrest Rita lived with her mom and took care of her. Rita's son fed Rita's animals and took care of Rita's home the whole time. Angela asks Randa if "Rita is home." Angela says she " wants to talk to Rita and tell her hi real quick" but Randa says that "Rita is not allowed to talk to her."

Randa then hands the phone over to Granny Beesler (Rita's mom) Rita shouts in the background "we are trying to get her to talk!" Angela says " absolutely not! Do not talk to Granny Beesler! "
(I have no idea why she said this, must be in regards to something that happened previously? Or Angela is mad that Randa won't put Rita on the phone?)

November 28:

Rita hands phone off to Granny and Granny asks Angela if she wants to talk to Rita, Angela says "no I'm not allowed, we can't talk about the case. "

December 8:

Chris puts on the speaker phone and allows Angela and Jake to have a conversation.

December 28:

Angela says "the only people I'm not allowed to talk to is Billy, George, Jake, Rita and Freddie."

January 10:

Rita gets back from her pre-trial and Angie calls and Rita tells her that "in Court today she was told she couldn't talk to anybody"

January 18:

Granny and Angela are on the phone together and Granny tells Angela that Rita wants to get on the phone with her and tell her she loves her. Angela says "she's not allowed to do that."
Angela then asks granny how "Billy is doing" and says "she knows she can't pass messages to him and Jake and George but they can't begrudge her wanting to know how everyone's doing."
Angela tells Granny that Rita "sent her a letter" and that "she knows they aren't allowed to write each other or talk about the case. "

January 19:

Angela says "she received a written Court Summary telling her she's not allowed to talk to them. "

June - July
There are 11 phone calls where they start talking more:

Angie and Rita use/take advantage of Granny by putting her in the middle, now every time Angela calls she asks Granny to put Rita on the phone or Rita tells Granny to give her the phone.

June or July
Rita says "I know I'm not suppose to talk about this on here but," she then asks " where are the Custody Documents located? " Angela answers Rita that "there is a plastic tub with the words important stuff written on it and inside are the Custody Documents. "

Angela talks about the "date at the bottom of the document--April 2016--that this is when the documents were printed out" and she says she "copied it over and there are things her attorney is looking for." Rita tells her attorney about the tub of Custody Documents and her attorney wants them and files a Discovery Motion and brings up this subject in Court.

June or July:
Angie discusses "case strategy, what to say in court and what not to say." And she discusses with Rita "whether or not they should testify at their trials. "

June or July:
Angela tells Rita she does not have to testify against them. Does not want her to testify against them.

June or July:
Rita and Angela discuss the Case and Angela gives Rita certain "buzz words to use if Rita takes the stand to testify."Angela says "she thinks that will work to explain the Custody Documents."
Rita says she "hopes she doesn't go to jail, that she needs to get off the phone, she doesn't want to get into trouble for talking."

June or July:
Angela tells Rita she does not have to testify against them.

June or July:
Angela says "let me tell you what my attorney said, I'm probably not suppose to say this on here but here's what he said to me." Angela goes on to tell Rita the "theories her attorney has for the case that her attorney can use in her trial. "

Here are some of the dates of phone calls listed in Rita's Discovery:

June 11, 14, 17, 22, 27
July 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 13, 21

Definitely. They havent gone away either. Some are incarcerated but not all. I really hope BW pleads out so the family and community doesnt have to endure another episode of this madness. Are you guessing next week for closing and then given to the jury? Of course, thats after 3 days of arguing about jury instructions from the judge

Caylee Advocate: I believe your :) and my :) are not the same, mine is dang sure not incarcerated.

I 100% agree. I see it every single day.

@Caylee Advocate

My smiley face is very active and not incarcerated. The driving of narrative pointing away from the Ws couldnt be more noticeable. I spent months dealing with his/her nonsense, openly and in his/her
face.
At the end of the day, people can be what they wanna be on an internet site. No site is exempt from those wanting to be a loon. What is fascinating to me is how they can easily sway unsuspecting posters so easily.

I try to remind myself daily what occurs on social media is not real life conversations. We have conditioned ourselves to believe it is normal when in reality most of our senses arent engaged via a website. I am referring to total strangers, without any personal, physical contact. JMO

I so appreciate those trying very hard to keep us updated on court happenings. Although very limited, the posting of texts from reporters are priceless. Kudos to those folks!!!! JMO

Jake tried to explain that Angela didn't really hate her but needed time to let her guard back down with Beth after his daughter's claim, which wouldn't happen overnight, he said. Beth sounded near tears as she told him that the kids didn't understand why they had to stay away from her, putting her in an awkward position when they wanted to play with her, because Angela would freak out if the kids came near her.

"So I've told you Sophie keeps trying to close me in the bedroom," said Beth. "If I would not be paying attention 100% of the time and if she was to succeed and close and lock the door for more than one minute, your mom would see that as a possible time when I could have been abusing Sophie. So I'm literally constantly on edge and constantly watching."

Jake promised her he'd speak with his mother and find a way for the couple to make things work in the long run. He encouraged Beth to speak with Angela herself and express her concerns directly, but Beth argued that would prove pointless.

"If you had a snake in your house — and she sees me as a snake — you wouldn't care one bit who the machete you swing affects the snake," she said.

She began to get angry, yelling that Jake had hidden his truck, given several belongings away and told the family to stay in hiding; Jake told her she was getting overly emotional and needed to take her hormonal medication. During her testimony, Angela told the jury she'd had a hysterectomy and took medication afterward.

"You've done enough damage," said Angela.

She then began to yell at Jake over his telling Sophia she was the girl's grandmother, not her mother; she was also angry Jake was choosing to believe Beth over Sophia, putting his daughter in further danger.

"Beth is her mommy, I'm her grandmother, Beth didn't do anything wrong, it was just Sophie," said Angela.

After Jake told his daughter this, Angela said Sophia now prefers Beth to her and told Bulvine, George's son, that Angela was her grandmother, which confused the boy.

"Now Bulvine has fifty million questions wanting to know how it is that I'm Sophie's grandmother," said Angela.

"How did I do damage, mom?" said Jake. "You are not her mother."

As I sit here and think about BCI texting/sending picture of "wish list" and picture of JW's hand holding the 1911, IF you were 1 or all 4 of the W's, wouldn't you stop and think/say to yourself --wow, BCI agent is texting me these pictures! Where did BCI get these pictures and this list of guns! Wow, they must have gotten them off one of our devices - computer, tablet, phone, etc! And WOW if they have gained access to these things, we must be under serious investigation, so just maybe WE should shut up and quit talking on our phones?! Since JW and GW mentioning knowing they're more than likely being bugged/recorded, when at the truck stop, or somewhere else, buy a burner phone AND only talk about the investigation on the burner phone when you're stopped and OUT of the truck - unloading/loading, showerIng, eating, etc!!?? I guess it just shows IMO that they weren't even half as smart as they thought they were!! (Shaking my head)

Being the alleged career criminals (IMO), they didn't even know some of the simplest do's and don't's. Billy, you should have been more in charge of providing these types of life lessons instead of leaving this up to Angela because she failed this part big time! (I am thankful she did though!) lol

AW, when she gets to the prison (vs the county jail now), more likely than not will be in for a rude awakening. Her fake, soft-spoken voice will do her no good there.....

It's been bothering me about JW and the guns, etc. in the buckets of cement that he lead LE to as part of his plea/proffer... What was the purpose of keeping these guns, etc!? There are IMO, hundreds of places where these items could have been put where they would never have been found AND wouldn't have been on a family member's property. So, my thought is, in the back of JW's mind in preparing, carrying out, and cover up of these murders, was JW thinking, if we are charged with these murders, I may have to rat/snitch out the others, so I may need some substantial evidence to keep in my possession/have access to JUST in case I need it down the road and what better than the weapons used to commit the murders?!

Which yes, we've been told it was BW that came up with the goose box idea, which IMO was also a stupid choice, mainly being due to it being placed on private, family member owned property. Also, the weapons in the cement buckets were then useless/beyond repair and of no value money wise.

Maybe I'm giving JW too much credit to want to still have potential access to the weapons used in the murders within his reach just IN CASE he needed them for a plea/proffer eventually. I'm not a criminal and would never commit a crime of this sort, but if I ever did, I can think of numerous places I would've put these weapons - places they would never be found.

JMO

ETA, I guess any of them that knew where the weapons were could've told in order to get a deal. Maybe they all (in their own minds) felt it would be good to have them in a place that was accessible to them, or to LE if a plea/proffer may be needed down the road. If it was me, again, my main priority at that time would've been to put them somewhere I or anyone else would never have access to them. JMO

After Listening to George on the wiretaps today, I have to say I do not feel safe in society with George walking free. I hope he gets convicted and sentenced for the rest of his life if not the death penalty. I now believe George was the main instigator of murdering these people. Yes, Billy came up with the idea and Angela/Jake bought most of the supplies, but what I heard today was someone with serious mental issues, serious anger issues. Just Wow! Remember before the murders Tabbi was afraid for her life to the point she left her child behind. I absolutely believe 100% Tabbi's life was in danger. I believe Beth's life was also in danger. I think they were plotting something against Beth and Beth's intuition told her to Flee anyway she could. That dude is an absolute wack job and the State was correct in bringing charges against him.

I think they probably felt they could keep an eye on them there. Property would always be in the family, so they would know if LE starting snooping near them. If they hid them anywhere else, there's no guarantee they wouldn't be found IMO. I think it's unlikely they would've been found if JW hadn't told them.

We cant really relate to GWIVs family and their murdering of 8. I think their actions only proves murderers arent very smart. THE W4 is the epitome of stupid. Imo

That's why I like to read and lurk more than post. I think we are still miles apart on these :) though. Won't go O/T with it. I just don't give in to group think, I follow my thinking not the majority. o_O

Lord have mercy that was painful. These boys scream and yell like 2 yr old having tantrums. Don't know what any girl would ever see in them with their whiny screaming voices. I have a headache now so need to find something for that. Gosh I just can't imagine screaming for an hour, bet they had sore throats after that.
