SC - Paul Murdaugh & mom Margaret Found Shot To Death - Alex Murdaugh Accused - Islandton *Guilty* #44

How this so called "man" made it this far in life is really astounding. Anytime he opens his mouth a lie is coming out of it. What a disgrace.

So I'm guessing this is going to take away any country club style prison he had the remotest chance of spending the rest of his life in. IF he does get a new murder trial and IF he was found innocent he MAY have had a chance, but I have to think what's the point of even going thru another trial at this point? Any of hope of his testimony in a new trial will be torpedoed by the fact that he's lied over and over and over again, even when given a life-line. Hard time for Alex from here on out. Well deserved!

Even as I think the odds would be low, I’ve considered if AM or his family would pull some strings to get him into a jail trust job somewhere. My local courthouse is maintained by a guy from state prison and he is right there on Main Street daily. I don’t know his history but as I’ve stated here before, never underestimate the greasy politics system in SC.

More than $6 million in money stolen by disgraced lawyer Alex Murdaugh is unaccounted for, and he failed a polygraph test about where it is, federal prosecutors said in a federal court filing on Tuesday afternoon.

The disclosures were made in a motion by federal prosecutors that seeks the maximum penalty for Murdaugh for his federal financial crimes.

[…]

As part of his guilty plea last September, Murdaugh agreed to be polygraphed and to tell the truth.

But after a polygraph session and interviews with the FBI and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, prosecutors now believe Murdaugh did not tell the truth, “despite numerous interview sessions during which the Government gave Murdaugh every opportunity to be fully truthful and forthright,” the government’s motion said.

“The FBI examiner determined that all of Murdaugh’s responses during the polygraph examination indicated deception,” the motion said.

The filing did not specify the exact questions to which prosecutors believe he gave deceptive answers.

Who was gullible enough to think AM was going to be truthful in a lie detector test despite promising he would be?

He lied every time he was interviewed by LE after the murders of Maggie and Paul, he lied on the stand in his murder trial, he lied to Judge Newman, and he lied to his son Buster, his family, and all the victims present at his sentencing.

Who decided Alec could be trusted? Should we be trusting people who trust AM?:rolleyes:

MOO.

Thanks for sharing this. The attorneys’ filing on behalf of their client convicted murderer AM doesn’t even spell the correct name for the cited Natalie Holloway suspect: ‘Joran van Der Sloot’.

And if that portion is incorrect, would cause some to wonder on the accuracy of other information in that filing? MOO

Prosecutors said in court papers filed Tuesday that their plea deal to have Murdaugh serve any federal sentence at the same time as his state sentence should be revoked because the polygraph showed Murdaugh wasn’t truthful about where more than $6 million he stole ended up and whether another attorney not yet identified helped him steal from clients and his law firm.

In their response, Murdaugh’s lawyers included court documents from state prosecutors in his murder case who fought against having the defense use polygraph results that said a Murdaugh friend failed his own test when asked if he was involved in killing Murdaugh’s wife and son.

The Murdaugh results were made unreliable by the FBI examiner who just before the exam asked Murdaugh if he could keep a secret, then told him he had just come from Alabama where he tested van der Sloot, who admitted to killing Natalee Holloway in 2005 in Aruba, defense lawyers said.

The examiner also told Murdaugh he believed he didn’t kill his wife and son and asked him a confusing question about hidden assets, the defense said.

RBBM (from the article cited)

That's a new one. AM, with his law degree, failed the polygraph because he was confused by a question.

Okay, Jan.

I believe this is wonderful, magical Karma catching up to the flesh suit of a man who thinks he is untouchable.

I hope he never sees the light of day as a free man ever again. He's an evil, lying, family murderer and deserves to sit in prison until they carry him out in a pine box.

Alex Murdaugh failed a polygraph test administered as part of the plea agreement. As a result, the US Attorney’s Office is asking to release the federal government from the terms of that agreement which is to recommend Murdaugh serve a federal prison sentence concurrent with one imposed in state court for similar crimes.

Murdaugh “denies the allegation” his attorneys said in their own filing Thursday.

“To allow the Government to publicly accuse Murdaugh of breaching his plea agreement while also allowing the Government to hide all purported evidence supporting that accusation from the public would violate the public’s right to the truth,” their response says.

Murdaugh attorneys, who claimed the polygraph examiner engaged in “odd conduct” before administering an exam, asked the judge to deny or delay ruling to hold Murdaugh in breach of his plea agreement until the polygraph charts are provided to him.

It's always the other guy's fault

According to prosecutors, Murdaugh accepted responsibility for the crimes to which he confessed – and admitted the involvement of his co-conspirators, convicted fraudsters Russell Laffitte and Cory Fleming. But he was allegedly not truthful when asked about hidden assets and the involvement of this mysterious “other attorney.”

To whom were prosecutors referring?

Sources familiar with the ongoing investigation told us they believe at least one of the “targets” of the investigation is none other than Bamberg, S.C-based attorney Chris Wilson. One of Murdaugh’s childhood friends, the 54-year-old Wilson was a key figure during Murdaugh’s murder trial as prosecutors worked to establish his motive for killing his wife Maggie Murdaugh and son Paul Murdaugh on June 7, 2021.
n the afternoon of the murders, state prosecutors claimed Murdaugh was in his office working on financial disclosures tied to a high-profile wrongful death case. That same day, Jeanne Seckinger – the chief financial officer of the law firm where Murdaugh worked – confronted him regarding $792,000 in missing fees from a case he worked with Wilson. At Laffitte’s federal trial in November 2022, Seckinger testified Murdaugh told her the fee had been placed into Wilson’s trust account. However, evidence showed it had actually been paid directly to Murdaugh.

During the murder trial, Wilson testified how Murdaugh – whom he described as his best friend – allegedly stole nearly $200,000 from him as part of this settlement. According to Wilson, Murdaugh belatedly admitted he had stolen money from him and others – claiming “he was addicted to opioids and that he had been addicted for twenty years or so.”

Murdaugh made this admission to Wilson during a face-to-face meeting on September 4, 2021 – just hours before he was involved in a bizarre roadside shooting incident on Old Salkehatchie Road near Varnville, S.C.

During this meeting, Wilson testified that Murdaugh confessed to stealing from him – and from others.
At this point, lead prosecutor Creighton Waters asked the witness whether Murdaugh “had a particular phrase he used” to describe the way he had treated Wilson and others.

“*advertiser censored* me up,” Wilson responded.

“He said he ’*advertiser censored* you up?’” Waters asked.

One of the most compelling witnesses presented against Murdaugh, Wilson claimed to have been completely blindsided by the betrayal of his friend, but is it possible he knew more than he let on? And if so … does he know where the missing $6 million went?
