Found Deceased TX - Pvt. Dakota Stump, 19, Fort Hood, 10 Oct 2016

Maybe he decided to go for a drive and had a car accident. This article shows a picture of his car, and mentions that hospitals and local LE have been contacted. I hope he is okay.

Stump is an indirect fire infantryman assigned to the Apache Troop, Fourth Squadron, Ninth Cavalry Regiment, Second Armored Brigade Combat Team in the First Cavalry Division. His brother, Dustin Campbell, said Stump wants to be a fireman when he gets out of the military. This week has been sleepless and stressful, he said.

In this article, Dakota's brother said Dakota had been drinking, that he had been "disenchanted with the Army", and that he had been arguing with his GF that night he disappeared. Dakota's GF told Dakota's brother that Dakota said he was going to get out of the Army by getting drunk and hurting himself.

Texas is a big state with a lot of wide open empty space.

Lots of room to disappear, but there are also a lot of small towns where people might not realize who he is.

There is a rumor that he is alive and well

Family of missing soldier searches for answers

No news but I don't remember this:

Stump’s mother told CBS$ that shortly after her son went missing fort hood officials said they traced his phone to the Indianapolis area. She says she now going through all his phone records trying to find anyone he may have talked to leading up to his disappearance.

I was afraid of this.
RIP PFC Dakota Stump [emoji631][emoji257][emoji631]

My son was stationed on Fort Hood.
It's 1000's of acres, with open areas and heavily wooded places as well.

Family members said the body of Pvt. Dakota Stump was discovered next to a flipped-over vehicle on the base. The vehicle was registered to Stump and found in a wooded area approximately 100 yards from the roadway near Building 43028 on Fort Hood.

Investigators believe the vehicle left the roadway, entered the wooded area and rolled over multiple times. Due to the terrain and heavy vegetation, the vehicle was not visible from the road.

I can't believe after all this time, with all the speculation he went AWOL on purpose and the reported sightings in Indiana that the result was that he had been in a bad wreck near base and not found for almost a month. :(

RIP Private Stump :rose:

I hope you get your full honors military funeral you deserve since you never went AWOL.

FORT HOOD - The family of a Fort Hood soldier who was missing for more than three weeks before he was found dead on post wants a version of the Amber Alert law, called a "Warrior Alert," when soldiers go missing.

Dakota Stump's mother, Patrice Wise, started an online petition on November 14th entitled "Dakota's Law."
Its aim is to "change Standard Operating Procedures on how Law Enforcement and Military handle situations when our Veterans and Active Duty Members go missing."
