She is described as a White Female, 5 Foot 11 tall, Slim Build, Shoulder length dark hair, last seen wearing a blue and white striped jacket, black shirt and black leggings.

According to the article, the police believe that he would have seen her at 4.30pm at the top of Peel Park Avenue.

The search for Lindsay Birbeck has now moved into its sixth day, with the higher-level teaching assistant from Burnley having last been spotted on CCTV walking along Burnley Road at around 4pm on Monday.

Officers have now said they have spoken with a witness who described having a conversation with a lady matching Lindsay's description at the top of Peel Park Avenue at around 4.30pm.

The witness said the lady they spoke to turned left from the road onto the path at the end of the road.

The same witness saw a man walking a black Labrador towards the same path and it is possible that the dog walker may know what direction Lindsay went in.

A further appeal to track down the dog walker has since been launched.

Lindsay isn't from Burnley. She's from Huncoat which is 2 miles from Accrington. She has links to Burnley and she was walking on Burnley Road Accrington. She spoke to a woman on Peel Park Avenue in Accrington I believe. That's where the man and the dog were. I don't think that man will be involved in her disappearance. Just my feeling. I think it could be due to depression/worry, or, she's needed to run away from things for a while. Although I think the latter is the least likely scenario
