Emergency room physician is accused of paying three girls between the ages of 12 and 14 for sex. He's also accused of paying a 15 year old girl to pose for a pornographic cell phone video.

Northeast Ohio physician faces charges of sex trafficking minors

The federal investigation began when he was accused last July of raping a 12 yo girl. At that time, he was arrested in Florida after returning from a trip to Peru.

The investigation was conducted by local law enforcement and the FBI Child Exploitation Task Force. Aiad-Toss worked as a physician in Youngstown, Oh, but the charges were filed in Ashland County, OH, which is a nearly 100 miles away.

What was this guy up to? How was he accessing girls in Ashland County? According to the Affadavit linked in the article, the girls met him via Snapchat. Scary. You would think parents would learn to not let their kids have these apps on their cell phones.

Depends on the kind of treaties the US has with Peru. They may or may not want the US investigating his crimes there. JMO, the US probably doesn't have jurisdiction there.
I wasn't thinking of the U.S. investigating crimes in Peru, but for example if there were incriminating photos in his cell phone taken in Peru, or any other country, could he be sentenced in the U.S.?

Here in Sweden, even if a case of sex molestation of a child happens in a foreign country, the perpetrator can be sentenced in Sweden for the crime.

IANAL, but that sounds possible. The FBI task force is probably looking into it. I hope they come up with something, they're getting to be very good at this.

I had a case in the UK whereby a man was downloading child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and it transpired through our investigation that the girls he had photos of were girls he molested in Germany, Dubai, China and USA so my investigation was worldwide in conjunction with the respective LE’s to ID the girls and their families and subsequently prosecute him . Interestingly at one point he was located through his IP address after he was. Arrested and bailed awaiting the court case, in China teaching in an all girls school and China spoke with us in the Uk and asked if we just wanted then to kill him. Obviously we said no but inside I was thinking otherwise. The things he had done to these very young girls was horrific !

I agree about the problems with Snapchat and other cell phone apps that allow kids to be exploited. The problem needs to be addressed.

"The abuse of a child is both despicable and incomprehensible," said FBI Special Agent in Charge Eric B. Smith. "Aiad-Toss, using his position of trust, admitted to engaging in sexual acts with minors. As a result, Aiad-Toss will be serving a significant and just sentence in federal prison. Law enforcement will continue our unceasing efforts to protect our most precious resource, our children."

As set out in court documents, between June 1, 2019, and June 29, 2019, Aiad-Toss used the online application Snapchat to entice, recruit and patronize six minor female victims, all between the ages of 12 and 15, to engage in sexual conduct with him by providing them with money, alcohol, new clothes and other items of value. He specifically budgeted $2,000 per month to be spent on obtaining young girls for sexual exploitation.

To avoid detection, Aiad-Toss targeted young girls in Ashland County, which was approximately 90 miles away from his home in Youngstown, to avoid being seen by anyone he knew. To further avoid detection, he typically arranged for the girls to enter hotel rooms through a side door rather than through the main entrance.

Many of Aiad-Toss’ encounters involved more than one of the juvenile victims meeting him in a hotel room at the same time. On June 15, 2019, surveillance video obtained by investigators show Aiad-Toss inside a hotel with three juvenile victims. Additionally, investigators located an image taken on June 17, 2019, depicting Aiad-Toss in a vehicle with three juvenile victims.

Aiad-Toss’ conduct also included the exploitation of another child by using Snapchat to entice and receive sexually explicit images and videos.
