I simply cannot imagine the hardship this places on the family. They have been through so much, I'll admit I want to hear and watch Jake's testimony and Angela's but I want the family to see an end to this additional heartache more.

Sadly, neither the defense team (nor GW4) seems to care much about the surviving family members. They even had the gall to show up at the funerals of their victims. Right out of the criminology textbooks under "sociopathic mass murderers".

ETA: add the local media guy to that list.

To the Rhoden, Manley and Gilley families and friends: I'm sorry you have to go through more of this disrespectful and abusive behavior from the horrible people who took your loved ones from you and made your life unbearable for the last several years.

I can't rely on Twitter messages. I don't know the context. I don't know if what is being written hasn't been misinterpreted.

Even at trial, this crazy family is still causing grief and pain towards the victims. If JW wasn't a coward he would have opted in

No George

Why does the judge get to discuss this matter in chambers instead of in the public. We have a right to know the arguments, right?

Okay, listen up! This is a series of tweets from Derek Myers. This is his view. Right or wrong, please keep in mind we haven't yet heard from Judge Deering. Just keep that in mind.

Derek Myers @DerekMyers

Moments ago, the media won a restraining order (for lack of better words) achieving two things:

1. Jake Wagner’s testimony must cease until the court holds a hearing as to why his testimony may be shielded from the public.

2. The media and public are now free to come and go from the court room, as opposed to being locked in/out during proceedings.

Media lawyer @jackcgreiner
has joined the case and has requested a hearing be held to determine if the testimony of Jake Wagner can be filmed in the trial of #GeorgeWagnerIV

He also provided a long no to Scioto Valley Guardian

The locking in of the court was a fire hazard to begin with. I'd be terrified knowing I wouldn't really now how to get out in an emergency.

How old is that Ohio law that allows no audio/video? Some seriously needs to bring those personnel up to day, in the world of internet, et al.
Just because we can't attend in person -- open court -- shouldn't exclude those of us who want to see/hear this.

JW and AW agreed in their proffers to testify in "open court." Again, doesn't matter WHERE/HOW this "open court" takes place the public is DUE their rights too.

I don't know how old that Ohio Law is, I'm in the UK. SORRY.

This is ridiculous.

I think just figuring out how they are going to proceed isn't "our right"

Court is back on

Probably not. I'm frustrated by all of it

I don't understand not being on video anyway. JW pic/video has been all over the news for years.

They are in jail. If you don't want to be on trial video... don't commit crimes. Dang

Gonna continue testimony today. Hearing tomorrow morning.

  • #78
Is Judge asking if we can bring in JW?

  • #79
And yet today they’re still going to proceed as they have been - which is understandable to an extent - I thought they may pause until the hearing tomorrow but clearly I was mistaken.

And for crying out loud, everything any of these witnesses say will be in the transcripts. Someone posted that according to the law the public has the right to request transcripts and read them.

The internet will be posting some of the transcripts I will bet you. So there is no reason to cut the witness audio. The public has the means to read all their testimony. Later after trial of course.
