BBM This is not true. In my state, MN, with felony charges a person's sentence depends on their criminal history - same conviction can result in one person getting probation and the other getting an executed sentence, again depending on their criminal history.
Yes! Thank you for bringing this up again. I vividly recall the interview where Misty and/or Ron are holding up their hands that HaLeigh was 4 inches/4 feet away from Misty. This is when the story changed from HaLeigh being in the same bed as Misty to HaLeigh being on the floor mattress. Ron...
I have always wondered why the bond for them all was so high. But the time for their attornies to ask for a bail reduction is long past. I'm assuming there never was a bail reduction hearing since the super-sleuthers here never posted about it.
I totally agree also. This is the one thing I've believed from the beginning - if Ron truly was at work and came home to find HaLeigh gone, the first thing we would have heard about this case is a guy hurting/killing his teenage girlfriend when he came home to find his daughter "gone".
I respectfully disagree with you and others who believe a sentencing delay must mean something. Hearings get delayed all the time - she's been sentenced to prison, this addtional sentence should be concurrent with her first one, big deal (to the system) if that sentence occurs now or 10 years...
I agree. None of what any of them has said about what supposedly happened makes any sense to those of us who have been following this case from the beginning. Each story told leads us to say "well, what about this..." and "what about that?" Each story brings up more questions than answers...
If a time card existed with Ron's punches in and out at the 5 pm and 3 am times then the Cummings or Ron or Ron's attorney would have published that long long ago. They have got to know that a major segment of the population who follows this case believes there is something fishy about Ron's...
I'm betting that Ron has had to answer to child protection before about injuries/bruises that HaLeigh and Jr. had (and resulted in him being shown the right way to discipline) and felt that injuries resulting in death could not be explained away this time due to his past with CP.
I respectfully disagree that Misty's issues telling what happened are because of her education etc. Telling the truth does not take a particular level of intelligence; I believe her stories are because she's lying, either because she wasn't there, or what I believe, because telling the truth...
I agree - I think they got a tip and it made what was going on in the home soulnd A LOT bigger than it really was. I believe LE has egg on it's face for acting on the tip.
I think it would be a pretty sad day if Ronald, and Misty for that matter, had knowledge but no involvement in what happened to HaLeigh. If this were the case why the blazes haven't they told LE long before now what they know to help solve the case?
However, I don't believe for a...
BBM I have absolutely no sympathy for these players either and it is indeed a waste. I save every ounce of my sympathy for the young men and women out there who lead good lives, made good choices but their lives have been tragically cut short by low-lifes such as these.
I want the accused to have vigorous representation because then, when they are convicted, they don't have grounds to appeal their conviction based on inadequate representation. Lawyers should be ethical though. It's one thing to represent your client, it's another to insert yourself into the...
LE doesn't offer anybody deals; LE investigates, the attornies prosecute. There is dealing going on, I guarantee it. Trials are too expensive; there are always negotiations. It just depends on what prosecution's bottom line is as far as months/years and if the defendant wants to take it or...
His drug arrests will be totally irrelevant at sentencing. Only convictions matter and then only a teeny tiny bit - and only if they were considering whether he's amenable to probation.
I wonder though, in my state they can resolve a case with a "Stay of Abjudication" or a "Stay of...
Which is why I fully expect that each of these cases will end in a plea rather than a trial - trials are extremely expensive and there is an expectation that the prosecutor will work with the defense attorney to come up with some sort of plea. If the amount of time isn't negotiable then where...
My thoughts exactly - The first information I had about HaLeigh was watching Ron in his blue striped shirt falling down and I knew right then that he knew what had happened to HaLeigh, and then I heard the 911 tape and my suspicions were confirmed. NOTHING that I've learned since then has...
