    AZ - Isabel Mercedes Celis, 6, Tucson, 20 April 2012 - #12

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Tucson police are searching for a 6-year-old girl who went missing from her home on the city's east side.

Isabel Mercedes Celis was last seen late Friday and discovered to be missing at about 8 a.m. Saturday.

Sgt. Maria Hawke says police are searching the area around East Broadway Boulevard and Craycroft Road using street patrols, canines, detectives and a helicopter.

She's described as just under 4-feet-tall and weighing 44 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

Thanks nurse! Sorry, I didn't see the old one was closing. It's early and I've had no caffeine. You rock.

For the first time since Isabel Celis went missing, Tucson Police did not hold a news briefing on Monday. They also scaled back on the amount of weekday investigators dedicated to the search. At their last briefing on Sunday, Lt. Fabian Pacheco told the media that they would have just two news briefings this week, on Tuesday and Thursday, instead of every day.

"It's the natural progression of things... We are still all in this together" said Lt. Pacheco.

The family of a Tucson boy who has been missing for more than 21 years say, watching the Isabel Celis case is like re-living a nightmare.

The family of Jimmy Hendrickson, a child reported missing in 1991 has been suffering for 21-years now.

Debbie McCrackin, the child's mother said the pain of losing her child was still strong.

"It's like it happened yesterday. Instead of 21 years ago. I still have that same nightmare,"

McCracken added that she understood what Isabel's parents, Sergio and Becky Celis were going through.

"They go through a nightmare. They're scared, angry, frustrated. Nobody should have to go through that nightmare," said McCrackin.

She said hearing about Isabel's disappearance was like re-living the nightmare of losing Jimmy again.

12-year old Jimmy Hendrickson was last seen at his babysitters cousin's home, off Paris Promenade on the West side.

Despite several sightings, he was never found. Initially police treated it as a runaway case, now they suspect foul play.

OMG, what a painful life. If I didn't know where my child was, I wouldn't want to live, but I would have to go on in case he/she returned. What a horrible place to be!

Here is the article re: the case involving the three little girls from Hawaii...
containing the most convoluted sentence I've seen in a while.

"The detectives are asking people, if they will cooperate in this investigation by giving them a picture which the detective takes, and then a sample of their DNA. If it comes as a match then there's a follow up."

    ??
    Just my opinion, of course.

And I think we would be shocked to learn just how many children go missing this way and are never found nor the perp who hurt them.

It sounds to me the perp left his DNA behind but the police is not getting a match in the data bank so they are asking for people to volunteer their DNA and the photo will be filed with the sample taken.

They did this same kind of thing one time over in the UK and finally they found the perp.

    IMO

Yeah I know...but what, do they want all people? Men and women? From all over the state? Or what...and then they will wait months on end until all the samples come back and hope that the guilty party happened to be one of those who volunteered? Just does not sound like a very promising plan, JMO

Even in the UK case, the guy was caught because the town was small enough that they knew who had and had not given DNA and found out that one guy tried to get his friend to give it for him. That is not going to happen in Tucson...

I heard in the report that they don't have the DNA results back from the lab yet on the three girls' case. They are following up hundreds of phone calls who say the sketch looks like so and so. In the followup on tips, officers are asking each person who looks anything like the sketch to let the officer take their pictures and DNA samples as a part of the investigation. Then once the lab results come in, if there is DNA found, they can compare the samples they have collected to the perp's DNA.
