OH OH - Chillicothe/Middletown Missing/Murdered, Possible Serial Killer

Okay folks, something is bothering me and I need some help. I need some ancestry people. I Have a new area to look into and I'm not good at the ancestry stuff. My search is related to someone who was involved in a high profile case many years ago, but I think he may live in that area. I know he is in southern Ohio but there are three people by that name with three different middle initials in southern Ohio and I am trying to narrow down how close he is to Chillicothe. One of them is very close to Chillicothe and one of them has one of the victim's family names connected to it. I'd rather not post the name publicly yet. If we find something, I'd rather inform LE at that point.

"We have a unique connection," said Melissa Moore, a special correspondent for Crime Watch Daily, a television series set to begin next month, who recently sat down with the families of six women from the Chillicothe area who have disappeared or turned up dead in the past 14 months. "They have lost their loved ones to what may be a serial killer, and my father is Keith Hunter Jesperson, known as the 'happy face killer.'"

[...]
For more on the case and to hear Moore's complete interviews with the heartbroken family members, tune in to Crime Watch Daily, beginning on Sept. 14. Check your local TV listings for stations and times.

It's worth noting that as of today, this is the second time this year that a murdered woman has been found dumped in a creek and left under a bridge in Massillon, OH.

Kimberly Clupper back in April, and Kendra Carnes today. The bodies were found just a mile apart. Massillon is a good distance from Chillicothe (nearly 3 hours), however the similar MO (dumped under/near bridges into creeks or rivers), similar time-frame, and the fact that the Massillon murders occurred in the same state makes them worth bringing up in this thread.

Now that I see the recent posts about Massillon, I have to point my post #378 out again. The person I am referring to there also has connections to Akron, which is not far from Massillon. If anyone is interested in an ancestry project, I can give you a name. I am not good with that ancestry stuff.

I am glad to finally see more information come out. It has been quiet for way too long.

T.J. Hollis, who heads the missing women task force, said he would not rule out Andrew Morrison, 52, of Chillicothe, as a suspect in the disappearance investigation, but investigators with his department haven’t received any solid leads yet.

“We are working with Franklin County and running down tips as we speak,” Hollis said. “We have received some tips regarding Morrison and encourage anyone with information on him to let us know.”

Members of the Ross County Missing Women Task Force are busy running down leads connected to a local man connected to a string of rape cases in Franklin County.

Meanwhile, they are closely monitoring a police search of a farm about two hours south in Kentucky for any links to the local cases.
Ohio missing person case focuses on Robertson County farm
August 26, 2015 3:02 pm • WENDY MITCHELL

MOUNT OLIVET | Agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Kentucky State Police converged on a farm in the Oakwoods community of Robertson County for the second time in a week Wednesday.

According to neighbors, police informed them an investigation into locating a missing Springfield, Ohio, woman brought them to Alhambra Road and the farm nearby.

[...]
“They said the body of a woman may have been cut up and buried,” said an area resident, who asked not to be identified. “I don't have a dog in this.”
This search might be related to Amanda Ward-Romine, 30, missing from Springfield, Ohio since August 2013

The more I read about him, the more interest I have regarding Andrew Morrison, the new POI in this case. I mean this guy is a Chillicothe resident who has connections with drugs and prostitution, and seems to have serious psychological issues including apparent predatory behavior towards females. If that isn't enough, some of the details mentioned in the second article made my hair stand up on end. Andrew Morrison is apparently a serial rapist who abducts his victims and drives them to isolated areas where he assaults them, and sometimes threatens to kill them. The connection to Columbus is also concerning considering the Holly Logan and Jayme Bowen cases. Honestly, I just feel differently about this guy compared to the other suspects (McCrary and Falls) in the Chillicothe/Route 23 SK investigation. Also, I have to ask Owutatangledweb, is Andrew Morrison the local person you had in mind? Just curious.

I was wondering (if this is the SK) why he would kill some and not others. Maybe the girls from Chillicothe could identify him and the others couldn't?

Here’s what has been reported in the Columbus news media about Andrew Morrison, the new POI in this case.

Chillicothe ex-con charged in attack on woman near Lockbourne

A convicted rapist from Ross County is suspected in a series of sexual assaults that occurred this summer in southern Franklin County, deputies say.

A description of a gold Buick and a partial license plate proved instrumental in the identification of Morrison as a suspect.

Morrison was convicted in 1990 of committing similar crimes in Franklin County.

Morrison, who then lived in Grove City, spent 13 years in prison for the two attacks. He was released in 2004.

Investigators in Franklin County call him a serial sexual predator. They're investigating seven reports of sexual assaults and attempted sexual assaults in southern Franklin County during July and August.

Morrison has a history of sexual violence.

In 1990, he was convicted of kidnapping two different women at gunpoint, and raping one of them. He served 13 years in prison.

Now he is back behind bars and investigators are wondering just how long his list of victims may be.

I want to mention that the area in southern Franklin County where the attacks occurred is in a very rural area that is east of U.S. Route 23 and about a mile from the Franklin-Pickaway County line.

I also happen to recall that during the past 25 years or so, several females have been found murdered in that area of southern Franklin County.

This guy is beyond creepy! So when no new women in Ross county were being reported missing, these assaults started happening in Franklin county

Mods can I post a craigslist link here? Bessie you have to see this!

I've been away for awhile and am lad to at least see a new lead. I am skeptical due to the fact that this guy appears to have left victims alive, but it's not beyond possibility and appears to be their best lead yet. The Kentucky connection has me most intrigued.

Buckeye05, no this is not the person I am interested in. The person I am interested in was involved in a very notorious crime in northeast ohio a couple decades ago. He is from southern ohio and I belive still resides there. My problem is there are two people with the same name down there, one with ties to chillicothe and one that is not too far from there toward the WVA border. I don't know if the two of them are related. One appears to have a connection to the family name of one of the chillicothe victims. I have looked all I can and do not have an ancestry account to try to sort it all out. It's not a strong possibility, but it's a possibility nonetheless. When I have more time, I will get an ancestry account and try to figure it out.

The serial killer who was active in our area a while back left some--possibly most--of his victims alive. He was into rough violent sex, with strangling, but apparently not necessarily into the killing. It seems to have been more that if the woman died as a result, he didn't really care and just threw her aside, but if she didn't die, he didn't kill her.

Law enforcement officials in Ross County are seeking a fugitive considered a person of interest in the drug trade and at-risk women involved in human trafficking in the area.

The Ross County Sheriff’s Office, Chillicothe Police, and Missing Women’s Task Force are searching for Ernest J. Moore aka “Dollar Bill”. Moore is a wanted felon and a nationwide warrant has been issued for his arrest as a parole violator at large.

This comes amid the disappearances of several women in the area over the past year.
