Personally, I don't think she really went out of town. In the KTAB blog article, it said IIRC when Maria went back to get Billie on camera with her reason for backing out of the chat, that Billie wouldn't answer the door. That gave me the idea that Maria knew Billie was still in there.

IIRC Billie said she "was trying to" go out of town, versus that she was going out of town.

I don't know. I just think someone showed her the questions, or told her about the questions, on the chat, and she backed out.

I didn't see the type of questions posed to BD in the chat (although read some of the reactions here). Backing out of this chat is the first smart decision BD has made.

Also, living in Colorado City, going out of town could mean going anywhere other than the local Dollar Store. Then again, if relatives are traveling somewhere and want to arrive before dark, then yeah, two hours to wait on a chat would make a difference. But it's my guess she didn't want to answer questions about the *advertiser censored* images.

But LE have known about this before it was "brought to light last Friday", so why wasn't this brought before a grand jury?

Could be LE was still investigating into the depth of of it, but felt they needed to release some info and quash BD taking advantage of yet another organization. This type of investigation takes many hours, and they still have to find out just who downloaded it all. SA's whole family MAY be involved. imo.

Many of the questions posed were good ones IMO. They addressed many of the same issues and inconsistencies discussed here. Some baiting questions here and there, and a couple of trolls, but nothing that should have not have been foreseen in an open chat.

I can't believe Billie didn't back out sooner, or why she agreed to do it in the first place, but perhaps she felt that playing the last minute excuse gave the appearance that she is making an honest effort to be forthcoming. I don't think she was fooling anyone but herself.

She will likely proceed with tonight's chat only if the two hosts promise to lob their usual softball questions.

What? Didn't they seize this memory stick in early January? This explanation doesn't fly with me. It seems like they would have had the infomation for at least a month and a half when the grand jury met. Did LE just now look at the memory stick? No, I'm not buying that explanation. It was "hidden" so I think they would have immediately looked at it.

In my opinion, the FBI's forensic technologists have been working since early January to determine the source files for the images, the devices used to download the images to the memory stick and CD... If any of the child *advertiser censored* is suspected to be home grown, they would be working to determine the location where the images were shot and the device used to record them... If any of the *advertiser censored* features children who could be older but made to look under-aged, the feds would be working to prove that they are not actually of the age to consent (some pornographers legally market to those with pedophile tastes that way). With the volume seized, it's also possible that the images were distributed/shared; the feds would be highly interested in pursuing those charges and identifying other adults involved, imo.

It takes time to do it right and get all the ducks in a row to minimize any legal wiggle room. 5 weeks from the time they found the deviant images to the time they first presented to a grand jury is pretty quick, imo. May also be that they were holding off for a short time and using the child *advertiser censored* possession as leverage to get truthful information regarding Hailey's disappearance from Billie and Shawn, since there is nothing to indicate that either has agreed to another poly since being found deceptive in relation to knowledge of Hailey's whereabouts. I'm actually happy LE is presumably doing a very thorough job and making an airtight case. In the meantime, I'm of the opinion that LE is watching the suspect and unnamed POIs very closely (with FBI involvement). JMO.

I've sat on some pretty wierd jury panels but have never been called for grand jury. Knock on wood.

This is one grand jury that I would not want to be called for.

District Attorney Hardy Wilkerson said if and when reports are filed the evidence and materials will be presented to the grand jury.

I just read that statement from the article holly. Wow, I thought it had previously been stated that grand juries from both Mitchell and Howard counties were set to hear evidence. I wonder if this latest statement leaves room for Shawn or Billie to cut a deal? Interesting...

As the investigation continues on who is responsible for the images found on a computer

No mention of the thumb drive, wonder if there were no illegal images on it?
If not, no charges against Billie and charges against Shawn are going to be hard to prove.

I think they are going to have trouble with the computer from CW's home since there were so many people that had access to it. Time, everyone connected, and verification. Could take a very long time.

The Sheriff stated that there was child *advertiser censored* on the memory stick...but, I'm a little confused on how this would be handled since two counties are involved. If the stick and disc have downloads from the puter how will they handle it? Will both counties press charges? TIA

I hope they find ties to SA thru credit cards or something so they have some leverage for Hailey's case.

I don't think he used credit cards. I think if he did we would have seen arrests already. I think he did a lot of 'trades' and I also believe that there were other people in that home that may have also shared his hobby. [ uncle, cousin, stepdad maybe?] So that has muddies the waters and made Shawn confident that he will be free for awhile. imo

SA seemed pretty confident in his interview last night that there is no CP on "that" memory stick. Too bad LE didn't find the others.

Sheriff Toombs confirmed that there are images of child *advertiser censored* included on the memory stick itself. (Along with bestiality *advertiser censored*, which is not in itself illegal in Texas). The images from the computer at Shawn's mom's house are going to be the toughest to definitively tie to a specific person(s) if it was really used by as many people as Shawn says, imo. If any images from mom's computer were copied onto the memory stick, that will make it nearly impossible for Shawn to deny knowledge that there was *advertiser censored* at mom's, imo.
P.s. so glad we know that Billie and Shawn's sexcapades were on the memory stick; no way for a false claim that it was planted... JMO
