GUILTY Australia - Two adults & baby killed in shop explosion, Rozelle, NSW, 4 Sept 2014

It never ceases to amaze me when the criminal mind will resort to arson/explosives and cause death and destruction just because they owe money or want money!! What a low, despicable person, I hope he has a long sentence and dies in prison. :censored:

It also amazes me how people think they can get away with things like this. Even if not had been a fatal explosion but just been a localised fire ... These sorts of shop fires are always 'suss'. It's a known fact that police treat all fires as suspicious until proven otherwise. Didn't Khan think that police would get to the bottom of the debts and the insurance cover increases? And put two and two together? And that petrol stations have cctv cameras?
Just amazes me how dumb that all is.

Unbelievable if the cause of such a huge tragedy turns out to be just stupidity in financial management and stupidity in knowing how explosive petrol vapour can be. :(

I did wonder if any financial problems or fires had been left behind in Boston, where I believe the Khans originally came from, but I couldn't find any trace of them there, online.

They've got him on DNA too. It will be hard to find an impartial jury for this case!

ROZELLE shopowner Adeel Khan’s clothes were contaminated by petrol and his DNA was found on the pouring spout of a fuel container, police allege.

At his Greenacre home, police allegedly found the packaging for the carbon fibre breathing mask which he had in his trouser pocket when he was dragged from the wreckage of his Rozelle convenience store after it exploded, killing three people.

Police told the court Khan’s jeans, shirt, jacket, leather belt and a shoe had all tested positive for petrol. A red fuel container found in the rear of Khan’s black Toyota RAV 4, which was parked behind the shop with the keys in the *ignition, contained petrol, and his DNA was found on the handle cap and pouring spout.

At his Greenacre home, police allege they found the packaging for the carbon fibre breathing mask and a receipt for 38.82 litres of E10 petrol which Khan bought on September 1 from a Croydon Park service station.

The service station’s CCTV footage allegedly showed Khan making the purchases.

Khan is to appear at Central Local Court on October 21.

'The Seven Network has been forced to abandon plans to 'simulate a car explosion' in the same Sydney suburb where a deadly blast killed three people earlier this month.
Seven was branded 'insensitive and offensive' by former Leichhardt mayor Darcy Byrne over the planned blast in Rozelle, in Sydney's inner west, which was to be filmed just streets away from the recent disaster as part of a Rebecca Gibney crime drama.'

Khan was behind in his bills, had come up with an elaborate plan/lie that he was robbed, tied up by 3 assailants and store set on fire so he could claim insurance. He is an evil who belongs in jail for the remainder of his life!!!

And Khan knew an innocent couple with a little baby lived right upstairs? What a monster.

On the first day of Adeel Khan's murder trial on Monday, Crown prosecutor Mark Tedeschi, QC, told the jury that an explosion in the convenience store beneath Mr Noble's apartment was so massive that it caused the building to move, thereby jamming his bedroom door. The only window in his room had metal bars...

Soon after closing at 11pm on September 3, Mr Khan allegedly set up an elaborate network of 10 petrol containers throughout the store – attached to wicks made of tablecloth material – with the intention of lighting a fire to claim $225,000 contents insurance money...

Mr Khan was found injured and pinned under a fridge with a carbon fibre breathing mask in his pocket.

When the fire broke out, it is believed Mr Noble was unable to escape his bedroom, which had bars on the window and the door jammed by swelling.

Moments before he died, the jury heard he texted his mother: “I love you.”

Ms O’Brien’s body was found on top of her son’s, “who she had obviously tried to protect”.

I have to agree with you about the appropriate sentence, PS. How cheap AK thought other people's precious lives were.

btw The jury have the ability to find AK guilty of manslaughter of Bianka and her baby, Jude, rather than murder. Deliberations may be more complex and they may take longer to reach a verdict, IMO.

'The jury will continue their deliberations next week.

Supreme Court Judge Justice Elizabeth Fullerton told the jury not to discuss their deliberations and not to read the press.

"Can I suggest that you just read something else?" she said.

"Do not be drawn into discussions with your friends and family.

"You've got a long weekend ahead of you. Put these things out of your mind."'
