I was thinking... he clearly was passed out on pills, which kept him passed out. But maybe the gasoline fumes took their toll and that's why he originally passed out next to the car.

The person who found him would have smelled the fumes from the car being doused in gasoline. Can you imagine being the person who stumbled on that scene? Would you have stayed to help or ran away and called for help? yikes!

If the Dad was trying to fake his own or Ara's murder why would he have had prescription drugs in his system? I think he was trying to commit suicide and that's why he took the drugs...but I'm not sure why he would set the car on fire...maybe in case the drugs didn't work.

Wow! I think maybe he planned to set the car on fire but the prescription drugs knocked him out sooner than he thought they would - he may have intended to set the car on fire and then pass out to take his own life and burn any evidence.

Either way unfortunately I think this means we'll have a very unhappy ending. Poor little guy, I'll never understand the selfishness of people.

Good question.

I'm just theorizing. Sr's purpose in life was fueled by anger at little Ara's mother. Sr did not like to share. (New question - is Sr an only child?) If he couldn't have Ara, in his mind he would exact the best revenge. And that wouldn't be complete until he gets the chance to smile at Ara's mother in court. Sr never intended to take his own life. He acted out on an angry impulse and tried to cover his tracks. He knows it's only a matter of time. He was too selfish to take his own life.

(I'm usually open-minded on cases. Probably very naive. But I, like many on this thread, was a child of a bitter divorce. I will jump with joy if little Ara is unharmed.)

my guess is those dogs hit on something. You saw how big that drainage pipe was in the video. It could be much farther down.

I was hoping he was being hidden by family but after hearing about the gasoline dousing, completely think he did something to that poor boy. That was a game changer.

Ugh. So they haven't searched the pipe where the dog hit yet...And mother is there waiting. This is heartbreaking.

SOUTH PAS UPDATE: "Credible tip" has brought deputies back to Arroyo Park; believe scents may be different after previous search in April.

That's where I posted I think he is all along.

The dog barked and was wagging his tale after sniffing the drainage ditch.

They immediately closed it one of two things. He's in there so they need to close the park or he wasn't.

Exactly. He was putting on a show. They threw him in prison immediately because they knew he did something to his son. Unfortunately our justice system made it difficult for LE to keep him there. Those officers are probably disgusted that he's free right now.
